Ok, so here's a good example of why I am confused. I've been out of bed for all of half an hour, just grabbed some breakfast and have plopped my behind on the couch. I already have 154 calories credited as exercise..... My eyes are barely open, how can I have that much of a deficit already?

I do, but to be honest I don't understand that either.

Can you point me at an active fitbit board please. The only ones I have come across the last post was months ago. Thanks!

First: Love your screen name Second: so are those calories I should be eating or just finding interesting? I do have my stuff set to sedentary because....well, I am most of the time.

Yep it's accurate :) I've been losing between 1 and 2.5 lbs per week depending on the week. Last month was the first month I was serious about anything and also the first month I started working out and I lost a total of 11 pounds that month. It's been little slower this month but I haven't been able to get to the gym as…

Mfp has me set at 1360, before that it was 14 something. I always eat back at least half my exercise calories, usually more than half. ETA: I ask (and worry about this) because I had a pretty wrecked metabolism before and learning to actually eat good, nutritious food in appropriate portions has been a pretty big step for…

If walking isn't exercise the I just *magicked* away those 11 pounds I lost last month. All I did was walk at a moderate pace for an hour 4-5 days a week. Yes, it's most definitely exercise.

I haven't read through the replies so I don't know if this has been suggested yet but back when I used to have a lot of trouble with insomnia I took a Valerian root supplement before bed. It worked WONDERS and was all natural.

I try to fit in any kind of "exercise" in to make up for it if I don't have time to actually work out. Things like parking on the top level of the parking garage and taking the stairs, walking the long way around, toe lifts and standing push ups in the shower. Things like that. ETA: I also usually have calories left over…

I just bought a flex yesterday and am so far unimpressed. I read that people warm up to it after a week or so, so I'm going to give it a fair shot but I'm starting to wish I had just bought a HRM instead. Following this post to see what others have to say :)

I do and it has helped tremendously in keeping my hunger at bay. I used to eat 2 maybe 3 meals a day and would end up snacking so this way I can eat what I want just in much smaller portions. Enough to sate my hunger but never be over full and always within sight of another "meal." That said, if I know I will be going out…

I went back to school when I was 28 and I'm killing it now. It's never too late! Good for you!

Yep. Non-traditional at that lol. I'm in my Junior year now :)

I got to Youfit which I believe is owned by the same people as Planet Fitness, I like it because it's cheaper than renting or buying a treadmill. The staff are friendly, it's exceptionally clean, and they have a nice variety of equipment for beginners and those who may be a bit more advanced. It's not a specialty gym and…

I really like the Propel Zero packets. I hate Crystal Light and I've done my best to eliminate artificial food dyes from my diet so those and the mio are out.

Thanks so much for posting this! I'm 262 right now and working my way to 150. I think we're a pretty similar shape and you look AMAZING so that give me hope. Congrats and thanks for the inspiration!

Neither of mine were planned but I wouldn't change a thing. They are the perfect ages apart and I had them at the right time of my life (which probably would not have been the time I would have chosen, had I known any better lol).

I don't usually go to the gym on Saturday, but this particular week I had missed one of my weekday 5am workouts and wanted to make it up. As I got up on to my treadmill these two very large guys started barking and laughing at me! I was more confused than anything, I mean who barks at another person?? Anyway, I don't have…

Thank you :) That's very helpful. I'll look in to that one too :)

Awesome! thanks!

Thanks :) The fitbit seems to be on the top of my list for myself, but it would be nice if we didn't have to buy two. I just can't seem to find if they can be shared or not.

I think any beer or cider will be better calorie wise than mixed drinks. That said, I usually manage to budget myself a decent deficit enough for a good night out :)

Something about studying or writing makes me want to snack. I managed to stay under my calorie goals finals week, but I fell off my gym routine.

Whenever I have a weird activity I want to log I use this: http://lamb.cc/calories-burned-calculator/ and try to find a similar MET value from this list : http://community.plu.edu/~chasega/met.html

Ha ha, that would be MY mother. My MIL would be super supportive. Congrats on your loss! It's people like you that inspire me to get it done!

I was certain no one would notice until I dropped at least 30 lbs or so. I was taken a little aback when he said something, like you really noticed??? lol

That's fantastic! Congrats!

I've thought about this probably more than I should at my age. Walkin' on Sunshine One Last Drink -Enter the Haggis and just to be sappy Pink's - Glitter in the air

Popcorn has been my go to study snack lately. Study and paper writing snacks have been my downfall lately with the end of semester. There are just so many raw veggies I can eat :/
