Do you have access to an Arc Trainer or Elliptical? Those are both joint friendly pieces of cardio equipment. You may also want to try Zumba. Good luck :)

Eating Well has a free "guide" on their website to make a healthier version of traditional snacks: i.e. onion rings, jalapeno poppers, etc. Some of those recipes sound pretty delish :)

^^ I'm glad I'm not the only one who gives peoples' attitudes about my food choices or my body right back to 'em. I'm LOL'ing so hard right now :)

Yes! I am not the only one who hated it! I could absolutely not stand the female character. I found her to be weak, whiney, and easily manipulated. I am more into literature that empowers women.

I started weight lifting after I lost the first 25 lbs. I wish I had started Day 1. There are so many good programs out there to get you started. I was completely clueless on what to do in the gym. Bodybuilding.com has an awesome (and free) guide (complete with videos) for beginning lifters. They also have a breakdown of…

Hi Sandy! I lost 78 lbs and I have a small amount of extra skin, but it isn't that bad. I ate *mostly* healthy, and did a balance of HIIT, bootcamp style workouts, running, and weight lifting. I cannot stress how important the weight lifting is to maintain your lean muscle mass. I strongly believe this is why I don't have…

I came here to lose weight. Like so many others, I would have ignorantly thought you don't know how good you have it. While I was on my journey to lose weight I met a wonderful woman at my gym who was trying to gain. I thought she had an amazing body and was envious that I'm not a naturally small woman. As I got to know…

Every single person has obligations that make it difficult to live a healthy lifestyle. I work 10 hours every day, have a 45 minute commute each way, and still get my butt to the gym 5 days per week. I work through lunch most days, so I pack a lunch box with a healthy breakfast, healthy lunch, and two-three healthy snacks.…

I'm very sorry for your loss and break-up *Hugs*. I wish there was something - anything - I could say to ease your pain. When I'm down I like to run; long slow distances really help clear my head. I've even cried on runs before. It feels good to release those emotions. Lifting heavy is also a great way to release stress. I…
