Absolutely and totally worth the money! I really like the sleep-tracker function. However I also enjoy challenging myself to reach those 10,000 steps a day. Been slacking lately, only getting ~1/4 of them in... The only thing I don't like about it is that it has a really small opening and my pants have a larger seam…

It depends on what your relationship means to the both of you. If it's something you've wanted for a long time, and it's truly significant to you, he should understand that. My tattoo was one I'd thought about and worked on for years. My BF said he doesn't like tattoos, but as long as I wasn't covering my entire body in…

At 185 pounds, I drink about a gallon of water a day. It's not too much for me. In fact, some days it's not enough! A good rule of thumb is to look at your pee. If it's clear or nearly so, you're getting enough water. Some people are prone to losing their electrolyte balance when they drink lots of water. Marathons and…

Lay off the pilates until you're more used to doing the cross-fit, but nothing wrong with some cardio! In fact, it may help with the aches. No high-intensity intervals or anything, but some moderate intensity steady-state wouldn't do much harm. Do what you can, stop if you're tired. Easy as that! (Listen to your body. If…

The weekends are the worst! The key is planning ahead, and then sticking to it. I have to keep busy all weekend, or I become an eating machine! Everything in sight is at risk. As long as I keep active, I don't have as many problems. I have so much to do most weekends, it's not a problem. I don't do any errand running or…

I have mine in the classic "tramp stamp" position where underwear and pants tend to rub. Mine was good to go in just a few days. No scabbing, no bleeding, nothing. Just followed directions carefully, keeping it moist with bacitracin (not triple antibiotic) at first, then switching to the CVS version of vasoline intensive…

Getting the exercise in any way you can is the best. So if you do it for 5 10-minute sessions or 1 50-minute session, it's done, right? Depending on the goals you are trying to achieve, and your physical fitness level, either can be better for you.

As long as you keep changing it up, you should continue to get results. You may even want to throw in an odd class once in a while, if you can. You can also change incline or intensity as well to continue to get results. It's all about not developing a routine and getting stuck in an exercise rut.

Another potential is a yeast allergy. I have nearly identical symptoms whenever I have something that contains yeast. I'm also suffering yeast infections for the first time in my life! I could eat biscuits, but had trouble with bread. Crazy symptoms, and I even take a daily Zyrtec! I've been trying to eat yeast free for…

Usually the first thing to look at is your diet. Be sure you're getting plenty of high quality foods. Sources of whole protein, healthy fats and good carbs are a must to keep your energy levels high. Drink plenty of water too, so you can flush out anything processed you eat. Next is sleep patterns. I found my fitbit to…

Thanks a million Martine! I've been a little MIA this week, due to getting a really nasty sunburn on Saturday. Today, it's still a little sore in places, mostly just itchy and starting to peel now. Kept lots of oils and lotions on my skin the last few days to help kill the pain and soothe the itchiness. Just made it back…

It keeps my depression in check. I feel "human" when I do it regularly. I have more energy for the rest of my life. I love the post workout high. I get to eat more!

Now that I've started to run outdoors, I can't run on the treadmill! I find it so much harder on the treadmill. I started training solely on the treadmill. On the advice of a long time runner, I trained at a 3% incline. When I shifted to running outside, it was so easy! No going back for me. Those treadmills hurt!

Hey Crystal! Nice to know I have a new rules buddy! I've been working on increasing weights before starting the program, so most of my weights are up there, for me. Rows I did 60lbs and almost a set at 70lbs. Squats I'm at 105lbs. I can only do wall pushups as of yet, but I'm going to try a harder variation next time. Step…

My BF uses splenda exclusively for a sweetener. It doesn't spike his blood sugar. However, a couple of strong brewed cups of tea will. Tea has some carbs, plus the caffeine (yes, green tea has caffeine) and up goes his sugar! And stress? Does it every time! Watch out with the Truvia - it has Xylitol in it. I don't know how…

Start weight training right away! It's great for your entire body. It keeps more lean mass, helps you burn more fat off your body. It helps increase bone density. Any gain or stall you may see in your weight loss from weight training is usually water weight, and you'll see a gain or stall for a day of heavy sodium, so why…

Watch for the key words for things. Go for baked rather than fried. Avoid "crispy." Ask for sauces on the side. Also, don't hesitate to ask the waiter/waitress for the best options. They are usually more than happy to work with you to make your meal perfect for you!

I love my fitbit. It does give MFP the sleep data, but I have yet to figure out what MFP does with it! It might be found under reports? Dunno. It has really helped me learn my sleep patterns! Nights I think I slept well and woke up tired anyway I find out I was dancing a jig in my sleep, looking at the fitbit site. Really…

It's great for beginners. It does misname some of the traditional yoga poses though. As long as you enjoy it, then go for it! I find it boring, so I have my DVDs and I take classes.

My BF had a nurse tell him low carb is bad for diabetics, because the high fat content is worse that eating higher carbs for a diabetic. Being a nurse, and a diabetic himself, we took him at his word on it. It's true that high saturated fats, that are common on a low carb diet (especially Atkins type) are worse for a…

It depends on the source of the carbs. Potato chips, white foods (rice, bread) and anything deep fried is not so good. Sweet potatoes, fruits, most veggies, and whole grains are spectacular. I do low carb because I don't do well with starches, but I still eat my fruits and veggies even though some are on the "no-no list"…

Absolutely appropriate! Especially when working out in a gym with no AC in summer! Anyone who feels otherwise is being too sensitive, if you ask me. There will be people who don't feel it appropriate, but as long as you're working out, I don't see a problem with it! I don't do it, but that's because I don't like showing…

Congrats on the results so far! You're so lucky cardio did so good for you! In the same time, I have shrunk only a few inches total. Bleh! I'm impressed with your dedication to getting back to a healthy lifestyle, for you and your baby! Fantastic! Hopefully the added weight training will help you even more! Good luck to…

The ONLY bra I can use for running is the original Enell sports bra. They are pricey, but worth every penny. They are well made, no bounce whatsoever for me. I own 5 of them. The oldest is something like 7 years old, and I still use it! Every bit as good as it was originally. I have under armour, champion, and 1 other, I…

Ok, this is an awesome tidbit. Never had yeast infections much, but now I get them all the time, whenever I eat too much yeast. This is good to know! As I said, I had a dietician and another "raw" foodie tell me it's great. A nice size jar of organic, cold pressed stuff runs ~$12 on amazon. I don't see it as too…

If you must have chinese, then get it! Better to take care of a craving before it makes you binge. I find some places have awesome light options (take-out, avoid the buffet). I got steamed shrimp and veggies with a light garlic sauce on the side with brown rice one time. So yummy! Took care of the craving and was healthy…
