  • Thank you Karin, Alli and Lucia for taking the time to answer my questions xx I do think I fall in to the light exercise category as I only do the following: Walking - 4 mph - 30 mins - twice a week Walking - 3.5mph - 30 mins - twice a week I work full time at a desk with very little movement - just to the water cooler,…
  • It's so good to hear stories like this! I'm going through a bit of a wobble after increasing my cals - first few weeks I had the expected gain, followed by a lovely 3lb loss but unfortunately this has been followed by 2 small gains :( I'll keep going though! These are my numbers if anyone would care to comment: Age: 44…
  • Hi. I've got Zumba Fitness 2 and it does give you the calories burned, however, I was a little sceptical as to its accuracy. Last weekend I did a 40 minute intermediate session and it reported a 396 calorie burn. After reading that the Wii can sometimes give a generous result I googled Zumba calories but that website said…
  • Where you say you aim to burn 500 - would you really burn this many calories by exercising 30 minutes on the bike and an hour walk (slowly)? Seems quite high to me?
  • You've had great progress so far and have lost more than the predicted 1.5lb per week. This week's weigh in result could be down to a number of factors ... hormones, sodium ... just one of those things. Sounds like you are on track to me and shouldn't worry about this one week. Keep going, you're doing great!
  • Bump :)
  • Well what a lovely surprise! Weighed this morning and have lost another 0.5lb :-) It's lovely to know I can eat a bit more and still lose weight!
  • Hi, I too don't have much of a margin for error :( BMR: 1314 Maintenance: 1578 I have been averaging 1350 cals per day for 7 weeks and have lost the predicted 0.5lb per week which is great. In fact last week I lost 2.25lbs but this was preceded by a 0lb loss the previous week. This week, due to family visiting and a couple…
  • Thank you Dan - you contribute so much to this website! I was a bit surprised at my body fat percentage using The Military Body Fat Calculator - 31.2%! Other website have always calculated similarly to Katch-McArdle where I am give the figure 26.4% - much more agreeable ;-) Just a quick question if you don't mind: I'm an…
  • Well done! I know exactly what you mean about seeing yourself how you used to be - believe it though - the proof is in the picture! Thank you for sharing xx
  • I have never been able to get a consistent answer on bra sizing! I think Marks & Spencers still use the method of measuring under the breast, add 4 for an even result or 5 for an odd result etc etc, however, I've seen a few websites lately which now say this is an outdated way of measuring (unless of course you are going…
  • That's great! Well done and thank you so much for coming back and reporting that ... sometimes people say they are going to 'try this' or 'try that' but we never get to know if it was successful! xx
  • Bumping to subscribe :)
  • Lol x I've just done the same myself! I'm hoping that I might join the club "eat more to lose more"! There are lots of threads on here about it! I have just lost 27lbs on Slimming World but have hit a brick wall - it seems I may not have been eating enough (under 1200 cals some days) so I am hoping that by increasing to…
  • That's a big deficit hun - I would definitely recommend reducing your target weight loss to either 0.5lb per week or 1lb per week which will then give you some more calories to play with. Whether you eat them all every day is up to you but at the moment you do not seem to be taking on enough cals. Hope this helps.
