Sounds ace to me, I feel hungry now.

Me. About the only 'heavy lifting' I do is my wine glass though ...

I've been down the low carb/Paleo route,I can see how easy it would be to end up with an eating disorder by avoiding certain foods for no good reason.

Eat everything unless you have a verified medical reason not to. Less rules the better for me. :)

The way I see it there are 3 kinds of business, and if you are in somebody else's you are neglecting your own. There is your business ... The stuff you can influence directly ...your actions, your decisions, your spontaneous thinking and how you react to those thoughts. There is their business ... What somebody else…

You should write a book.

Raspberry noodles are the next big thing.

Pretty much me as well ... I don't go out of my way to mainline chocolate/coke but I'll eat anything that fits into my overall caloric goals while providing some variety to my day. "Sugar" from fruit? No point in worrying about it IMO. Ice Cream? I have it daily. I hit the deficit weekly, eat what I like and try to get me…

I've given up giving up on anything. I have totally relaxed into being me. If I want it, I have it. I trust myself not to have too much of it if I wish to continue to make fat loss progress. And if I waver, that's OK too, I'm good.

I used to get it a lot and was reading up about diet-related reasons (as it is an auto immune condition it makes sense diet could make a difference). I read somewhere eggs could be a problem, not for me. Then it was hot spices (cayenne, peri peri, etc), no effect on me (thankfully). Then I cut onions (raw and cooked) and…

You could try magnesium supplementation just before bedtime to help you relax and sleep. Also carbs help produce the chemicals that promote sleep, I try to leave some room for a late night indulgence for this purpose.

Up the protein early in the day to keep you fuller for longer? I prefer run super-compliant during the week and cut myself a little slack at the weekend. But it is only a little slack, not a full on binge. It's all about the weekly average for me. During the working week the psychology of not really eating much during the…

I don't care what the number is or where it sits in some notional weight range. I'm just going to keep going until the jiggly bits that shouldn't jiggle don't and that will be good enough for me. I'll then step on the scale out of curiosity, I may use it as some reference point in the future but I don't care what the…

Any combination of "I want to lose some weight" / "I can't lose any weight no matter what I do" coupled with behaviours that indicate why they "can't" pretty much gets to me. Look, be big and happy with it, be smaller and happy with that but please, do not complain then compound the problem in the most obvious manner…

I play cricket summer and winter here. Over 100 games for my club and still rubbish in all areas. I don't log exercise at all but I reckon given my batting average I would have burnt around 30 calories batting for the whole of the last season. :) Seriously, I don't think it burns much if you aren't bowling, it might just…

Great, as well as nagging him to death because deep down the OP doesn't want to be seen out with a lardy (concerns about his health my bottom) we are going to wheel him off to AA too? It's a wonder he doesn't drink MORE in the face of all this, I feel sorry for him.

I reckon anything that keeps a human being alive is perfect. It is very easy to debate (and google) the pros and cons of this and that food with regard to fat/nutrient/macro/whatever but when it comes to food, sustenance, it's pretty simple. It either keeps you alive, or it doesn't. We really do get bogged down in the…

Good suggestions, my cupboard is an ecological disaster zone according to some posts, I live off tuna, the cuddlier the better. So many widdle cans ... Like an Andy Warhol painting ... You should see it, it's beautiful. I'm a big fan of a tuna bake ... Tuna, veggies, sour cream, some tinned tomatoes ... Mix em up, Spice it…

It's healthier than starving to death because you don't have anything else to eat. Just eat the cous cous if you like it ...

On the one hand I think the whole Aspartame thing is evil (see Sweet Misery documentary) and we'd be better off with just chugging back the sugary stuff and on the other I think the dose is in the poison. Christ knows what the truth is but I feel somehow unclean every time I pop open a can as I tend to do daily.

The less rules the better for me. Make it fracking sustainable. Insulin, HFCS? Look, I've been down that rabbit hole ... I just hit the deficit eating what I want and try to get a decent amount of protein in me. If this involves eating a Snickers bar for lunch, hey, yeh! :) And I do the 'exercise' bit by building natural…

The calorie deficit rules but cutting carbs for a bit can help some people manage this as far as I can tell. My work day is typically a 12 hour fast which I get through no problem at all, I could not have done this before I did my low carb thing. No way, too much craving. I love being able to eat like a pig (within reason,…

Just call it Intermittent Eating ... Amounts to the same thing and has a less controversial ring to it. ;)

I'm in. I have a head start though, I last weighed myself in July 2012. The belt is getting looser and I'm on the last notch, dat's all I need to know ...

Also known as DeadVim's Lunch Today. A carby fatty wedge of pure pleasure. Because I'm Worth It.

Fine advice too. :)

And I thank you :) I've been down the road, I've read the quite persuasive stuff that implicates insulin and blood sugar and GI into the whole carbz = fat storage mode thing. Hell, I swore off of bread for a bit. Did Paleo, thought legumes were the devil, etc. To what end? None really, no real body composition progress in…

Why do you think you need to, given there is no metabolic advantage in doing so? And, from your avatar (I assume 'tis you), that you appear to be quite trim anyway ... Why? I know everyone to their own body image and all that but reducing the carbs ... Why? Look, I've done the whole carbz iz evil thing and there is no…
