it was one the the greatest program, me thinks.... I wish i knew about it sooner... However, its not necessary to start from day 1 week 1. You can start from week 2 or 3 where ever you are too comfortable. This will definitely build endurance... Good luck :D, you can only move forward from here...

Thanks spartacus69. That was an interesting read.

Bump. Anyone?

Fingers crossed Sophie... Dont worry. Enjoy your time... As long as one does not think that life is a holiday (LOL), all is well :D And if you really stick to what you have planned (including 30 laps of pool), you will have the biggest loss in that week

 Yes, I stopped taking all inclusive after my last Sharm-el-Shekh one.... Those are way too dangerous for me too... (when my mind tries to calculate ROI :blushing: )

Hmm. Walking holiday sounds like fun... Gotta try it soon... :)

Hell ya :D. and counting calories is especially taxing when you cant pronounce the names of the dishes and guestimates could go horribly wrong :ohwell:

This ^ or Don't add lentils, everything else is good recipe, may be you want to blend spinach after boiling it to make it a sort of puree.

Bump (for advice) I also think that to reduce weight, you need to create calorie deficit, either by eating less or burning calories or both. In simple terms I would choose workout (cardio or strength) that can be helpful in practical life i.e. build more endurance, stamina or whatever you call it. 2 birds with one stone :)

What MFP recommends is largely OK'ish (or right). 1200 cals is just a ball park figure that people recommend that you at least need to eat. "Now I'm confused because BMR is the lowest cals my body needs to survive at my weight so if I'm eating 1200 cals does that mean I would lose weight or that my body is not coping?" The…

Bump. I read somewhere (a medical journal) that human brain can get energy only from carbohydrates, neither fats not proteins and for a good body function (including brain), we should eat 45-65 percent of our calories from carbs. Could someone please shed a light on this. All this percentage thing is so confusing with lots…

I have used the following: 1. Fat2Fit iphone app (for body fat percentage). 2. Handheld body fat analyser (at Gym). 3. Omron scales (with body fat analyser). I recently bought this and planning to return because Fat2Fit app tells me pretty reasonable figures compared to omron scale. Also, whatever technique that you use,…

Oh really!!! http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/6180753.stm In this study: Men who were vegetarian had an IQ score of 106, compared with 101 for non-vegetarians; while female vegetarians averaged 104, compared with 99 for non-vegetarians. I am happy to be vegetarian and have no mental disorder to switch to meat.

I'm not sure. I have not seen on myself and dont want to see too :D But on the other hand, sometimes I wonder, there have been so many civilizations in the world, that grew independently of each other, having no communication with each other (so no rumours could be spread from one to another) and its interesting to note…

Nays! hahaha... But TBH i'm loving this idea if no-one cheats :p And I have another friendly competition going on too :D

Good idea but Shhh... If she reads this, she will outsmart me by evening :D

Great progress... Very well done!

Good Question. I was asking this myself few months ago... Answer is simple: Use your HRM while sitting idle/ watching TV. If it shows no calories, or very less calories then the HRM is not considering BMR in your workout calories. Hope this helps !

bump! What about bones?

Somewhat agree and somewhat not :D (different opinions here) I mean basically, basically we belong to the same species, our DNA structure is pretty similar... So why not similar solutions... Please allow me to draw a parallel: Lets talk about any plant or animal (same species). Say a farmer would give the same dose of…

Some people might have different opinions about it. But I weigh yourself everyday at roughly the same time (on empty stomach in the mornings) and keep a track through an app. Do not look into individual figure but look at the trends. e.g. the app I am using is "monitor my weight" and there would be couple of other free…

I tend to eat "naughty" food on weekends. Weekdays are healthy... Also, try to surround yourself with healthy and "positive" food and positive people. "If 10 people will ask me for a chocolate in the day, hell yeah, i will accept atleast one :D"

Thanks a lot guys.. Your comments and opinions are appreciated... As far as I am concerned, it normally is a cinema about 6 miles from my home. I normally go by car but tried walking this weekend so that I can have a nice meal along with without any guilt. Yeah, it was a leisurely walk (3.5mph) and dumbbells was not really…

Well, I am no expert but I have heard from friends and Jillian Michael, do cardio inbetween weights to keep the heart rate up and effectively burn more calories. This could be true for weight loss or getting stronger but not sure about heavy lifting goal though.
