Comparison is the thief of joy. Seriously. Find a program that you love. Do it. Consistently. If you are going to compare yourself to anyone, let it be to yourself however long ago. The best lifters in the world didn't get there in a day, a month, a year or a handful of years. There is something awe inspiring about taking…

Sumo is my normal stance. I'm equally strong at both regular and conventional. I just prefer having to be patient off the floor rather than at lockout. I don't really find that one style works glutes and hams more than the other.

Rest days are normally more of intellectual enjoyment than a physical enjoyment. But at least two of them happen every week

To crack the top 200 overall rankings and top 20 for my weight class for bench.

I have a crazy volume tolerance. And deadlifts are supposed to be hard. The hard reps, the challenging reps are what build you up. Follow your programming including protocol for stalls.

I jokingly call a day spent spotting and loading 1000 calories. And comp days in general. Do I really think it's anywhere near that? Nope. But it feels like it. Track your numbers. Adjust based on your real world results. Profit.

Bench and deads. Any training day that involves both is automatically a happy day.
-
I'm trying to imagine any of the coaches reactions to someone wearing gloves in my gym. And failing. Definitely any of the powerlifters or oly lifters wouldn't ever even think about it.

Coffee. And candy. The occasional day that I use an actual preworkout it's powder burn 2.0 by rivalus. Anything I use needs to be third party tested as WADA compliant.

So 65% is feeling like an absolute utter joke. And I can't put it down to holiday gains because I actually lost weight over the week. Had to tighten up my belt. After 90 squats at 85kg, this was my fourth set of 8 at 110kg. I can't wait to see what I start pulling off when I move to strength work to prep for nationals.…

Nope. Took the easiest laziest rest day of the year.

Have goals big enough that missing workouts isn't an option. Sure, if I'm sick or whatever I take time off. But week in week out, I manage to make it happen. My preferred schedule would be wake up at 11, go to bed somewhere around 3. But I wake up at 5:30 most days to make everything happen.

Find a program. Follow the program. Enjoy the rewards.

I was whiny today. So whiny one of the strength coaches took a look at my program and went, "well, today is better than your bench day ... holy *kitten* you have a lot of *kitten* days in here" Box squats supersetted with pause squats. Followed by deads. https://instagram.com/p/BON5szrhdC4/…

@TROberts - depends on fed. Ipf/raw I could see that getting redlighted on depth all day long, but I know a couple gpc lifters who squat to that depth on the platform and are fine.

My belt just helps me set my core bracing properly and then I can focus on everything else.

I am in complete and utter love with them. And the feather leggings. I'm super jealous that you have the brick ones and want them so bad!

My coach is truly trying to kill me. Rdls for my third pulling day of the week. Pretty sure that this is a rep pr at 110kg, even for rdls https://instagram.com/p/BOGPzF0h99n/

Lots of water, lots of walking, and just dealing with it. Not that I get super sore a lot anymore.

Cupping is awesome. I wish my current physio did it, but her combination of massage and dry needling works wonders to. As for timing, I pretty much always have a treatment and then go train immediately afterwards. I'll take it easy on squats if she's dry needled my it bands, but that's more because my legs feel absolutely…

My coach. Wants to kill me. Last set of paused squats. Which were supersetted with box squats. 73 total reps in 5 super sets. https://instagram.com/p/BN7sMtHhoRV/

Country. Srs. Notsrs. Srs. One of the strength coaches does actually play country and I've gotten used to it.
-
I deload when my coach tells me to. I usually spend the first couple days cranky and grumpy about having to deload but end the week excited to get back to it.
-
The oly coach actually got me doing my warm up sets without holding on. Something about control and body position.
-
If it's the guy in Kyle's video, it looks like a hang snatch pull.
-
Just got myself some Romaleos. I've only benched and done some overhead work in them and am in serious love. Such an upgrade from my reebok lifters that it's kinda a joke.

Not really pausing. Making peace with my fate

If I never see another ten rep squat set I'll be happy. But, I'm still working my percentages for squats off of a max I haven't touched since April 2015, and they are still working. I'll take. https://instagram.com/p/BNvVO0nh3qp/

My coach is crazy. I was supposed to get 10 reps for five sets at 80%. Now, I've made this happen before but it wasn't happening today. Got 4,5,5 then dropped to 75% for 7 and 8. When I only bench twice a week my elbows completely forget how to move. https://instagram.com/p/BNpkWe8BWIm/

I agree. Shopping around I got mine off of Rogue for pretty significant savings. They should be here on Wednesday!
