  • Welcome back. Log you calories, up your calorie burn, monitor results = Success. You can do this.
  • Great post and congratulations on your success so far.
  • Put oatmeal in microwave. Go for 1 mile walk. Come back and eat it.
  • Welcome back, sorry to hear you have been having such a hard time. Tracking your food is how to get back on track. Whether you are within your target or over, just track. Eventually it will click and you will have some record of what works for you and what doesn't. Wishing you the best in all.
  • You are a smart, college educated woman. Plot out your path. Add daily walking and swimming if it is available to you. If you want to eat more, add extra exercise. Even if you don't want to eat more, walk an extra 10 minutes and keep adding on. You want to do this and you can do this. Do this for you.
  • You already know lots about shoes....Even the best shoes do not last very long. I replace my shoes at least 2 times per year. After many failed attempts, I was only successful in running when I incorporated stretching into my run. I would warm up 1/2 a mile and then stop and stretch. After the run I would do a longer…
  • Congratulations, you are on an amazing journey. Great job with your progress.
  • I rewarded myself for a hard week with a 2 hour swim on Friday. Food is not a reward, it is nourishment. Take a long walk and regroup after a hard day, you will feel better. Go the gym when you are tired, it works.
  • Exercise more and eat less. Think about the 10,000 step/day as a basic requirement, without eating back those calories and then do your 4 day a week work outs. If you are not losing, then you are either underestimating your intake or overestimating your calorie burn.
  • 3 lbs in 4 weeks sounds like you are a success story. Enjoy your loss!
  • Hold yourself accountable and you will succeed. You know what you need to do to get there!
  • Build up gradually. If you want to run a 5K, you should be able to walk a 5K easily. Listen to your body. Rule of thumb is don't add more than 10% distance per week.
  • We are all different shapes and sizes. What does it matter? Of course you are not too fat to go swimming. If you love it, then do it. I swim laps 3-4 times a week. The people I notice are the ones that swim faster than me. I watch them to see how I can improve my stroke. The people I talk to are the regulars, mostly the…
  • If your gym has a pool, use it. Takes all the stress off your legs, great arm shoulder work out and you will feel better when you get done.
  • I told my husband and he is supportive of my efforts. It helps me to be committed by having other people that I actually know know that I am trying to lose weight.
  • Vegetables are very good, maybe you have never had them prepared properly. Gagging on an onion? are you trying to eat it raw? You generally do not eat an onion by itself. Maybe you should look into cooking classes? Vegetables: Broccoli steamed, brussel sprouts steamed, carrots raw or in soups/stews, onions in casseroles,…

  • Wishing you the best of luck on your journey. Stay strong, you can do this.
  • I try to get in a work out most days and I definitely think it helps my attitude about most things. I feel better physically and am happier. For me exercise is not a chore, I look forward to it and make it a priority in my schedule. I agree, your mom is right. If you don't like going to a gym, find some activity that you…
  • Wow, you look amazing! Great job!
  • 20 lbs would be great, feel free to add me. I work out most days but I need to get the eating figured out.
  • Sorry things didn't work out in your relationship, but glad to hear that you are taking care of yourself. Feel free to add me.

  • That's wonderful news. Thanks for sharing!
  • Redford!
  • Can't stand the taste of diet pop or any of the 0 calorie sweeteners when used in anything, including baking. I only have maybe 3 pops a year, never have been a fan. I drink water and coffee black.
  • Most found was 2 $100 dollar bills in a Toys R Us parking lot the week before Christmas. They were old and crumpled up and looked like someone had had them in there pocket for many years. I look for money or "road finds" on every run and always come back with some treasure. Best finds are after a long snow melt.
  • I think you will be able to get down to 125 lbs, just eat right and exercise. If you figure out a way to go from 37 to 21 years old, let me know, I think we can market it!
  • Absolutely. 55 and still running marathons. You just have to be determined, educate yourself, develop a plan and stick with it. Good luck!
  • I can not delegate my weight loss to someone else to do for me or hire it done. I can not wish myself thinner and have it magically happen. I can not remain fit and strong with out exercising regularly. I can not wait to start until tomorrow, tomorrow never comes. If I don't do this now, today and for the rest of my life…
  • If there is a track near you, run on that rather than on pavement. It is much easier on your legs. If no track, try a dirt road or grass. I started out on a track and it was much easier. After you build up you can switch to pavement. Compression socks after you run can help with the pain, so does ibuprofen or aspirin.…
  • Please don't be so hard on yourself! You just had a baby and major surgery. You need to give yourself some time to heal before worrying about weight loss. Take care of yourself and your baby and put things into perspective. When I had my daughter with a c-section many years ago, I had only gained 20 lbs because I had…
