Great thread!!

You're gonna get a whole bunch of different opinions on here. I think losing 10lbs in a month is fine. Was always told losing 2lbs a week is ok. You have to play with the calories to see what works for you because everyone is different but you seem to be doing ok. Good luck!

After successfully losing weight and putting it back on I now need to look at it as a lifestyle change instead of just weight loss.

Well said!

When i joined Weight Watchers in 2004 i was given 1200 calories a day to lose weight and at that time it was a different program than what they have now. Every 50 calories counted as 1 point so i was given 24 points for the day and i believe 10 extra points for the week to use as i saw fit. The program was wonderful and i…

Im not the negative one here!!! There are tons of threads on this topic. When someone like myself disagrees and "share's" my own experience with a 1200 calorie diet i read how unhealthy it is and that you put your body in starvation mode and blah blah blah. Guess what, im losing and perfectily healthy and the amount of…

But what you learned came from your very own personal experience and is not true for all cases and everyone. Just as many people who have lost weight by eating more calories are coming on this thread saying they have HAD success eating 1200 calories or less. Point is everyone is different. As i said before i eat 1200…

Nope not true. Again you are generalizing the population.

I agree and dont get this either!!! I tried explaining it but of course it didnt get through to anyone. Maybe it's called being a busybody? If someone asks for advice then ok but this is not how this thread was started.
-
Agreed, live and let live. This thread didnt start out because someone needed advice and advice was offered up. Instead it was started just to state someones opinion. There are so many threads on this topic already and no one will ever agree.

Very well said!!!

Lol, its very sweet but its not too often you see that and i can relate to her post.

Nice answer!!

Very nice pic, I agree!!

I dont hate it but im not loving it now. I do embrace my curves and love the way i look in some outfits BUT i would love it even more if i were thinner : )

I dont think i can say i've cut things out of my diet, i have substituted things. Instead of regular white bread products i eat whole grain breads, weight watchers breads, 100 calorie sandwich thins and bagel thins. I use all reduced fat or fat free cheeses and i use laughing cow cheese wedges in place of regular cheese…

That is soooo sweet : )

I'm with ya on those two ; )

I'm already married and wouldnt want to be married to anyone else. Rosie O'Donnel once said she loved Tom Cruise and would love for him to do garden work and stuff around the house shirtless lol. I thought that was a great way to put it. So if i had that option i would pick: Jon Bon Jovi Alex O'Loughlin Bradley Cooper…

My advice to you would to consult your doctor and see what he/she advises you to do. Yes you do need to fuel your body if you are working out and eating more may be the key but a quick consult with the doc may give you some insight on how much you should be eating to lose weight adn what is recommended for you.
-
Lol I loved your saying "pocket sized".

I'm 4 '11 and 3/4 and my goal is 125lbs. I started at 158 in February and lost 9lbs so far. For me anything lower than 119lbs and i dont feel well so im sticking to 125.
-
According to your pic you look good. I would check with your doc though to see what he/she says and if they think you need to lose weight. Maybe they can recommend a fitness plan for you.
-
Just relax, dont make yourself crazy over this. Order what you think may be a good choice and when you get back home then you continue on calories counting. I've been on vacation while dieting and would eat out and came home without gaining weight but if you do gain a little weight so what chuck it off and continue dieting…

That can all be true for some. Like i said ive done it before and lost without any problems or any of those effects you mentioned. Everyone is different and that was my point and the reason to stick my 2 cents in and post here. Theres too much generalization going on. Bottom line before anyone starts a weight loss program…

It seems misery loves company and when people see you trying to lose weight if they havent been successful in their own weight loss they will try to push those bad foods in your direction. A huge annoyance, i agree.

When I would go to Weight Watchers meetings I would be told by other members "wow why are you here"? I had 40lbs to lose and because i'm short and carry my weight differently no one suspected i was 40lbs overweight. I also had a lot less to lose than most in those meetings so i guess it aggravated them to see me there? It…

According to ur profile you only had like 8lbs to lose and seem fit and never had to go through a major weight loss. Eating 1200 calories for you would not work since you work out but for someone on a weight loss program they can safely consume 1200 calories without starving themselves. Even with the 8lbs you had to lose a…
-
WTG, a 1200 calorie diet is all about the food choices you make. There a lots of foods out there to chose from that you can eat and still stay in your daily caloric allowance to lose weight in a healthy way without starving yourself as you proved to be true.
-
Now was that comment helpful to anyone, no. It was actually insulting. I'm 4 '11 too and eating a 1200 calorie diet who is not a starving beast. I am not looking to be 100lbs like you instead im looking to have a more womanly curvy figure which does not make me "skinny fat". I've always had an hourglass figure and when i…
