Oh my gosh, there would be consequences. The aisles would run red with blood.

I'm glad I workout at home. I wear a bra top and shorty shorts cause I sweat like a man and would rather drip it on the floor than wear a wet shirt. Blah!

When I graduated from high school, I weighed 108 pounds @ 5'3" (BMI of 19.1). I looked like a toothpick with 2 olives stuck to the top (32DD). I gained in college and ended up in some strength training classes to build more leg muscles, I was a dancer and wanted explosive leaps. I ended up looking really great @ 136# (BMI…

I've been replacing the pasta in my go-to pasta dishes with spaghetti squash. Stir-fried veggies over brown rice. Homemade enchiladas, burritos, or tacos. There are lots of low cal, high veggie recipes.

The difference as I see it is whether or not it is an entree. I am using the term vegetarian dish to mean a main entree that is non-meat.

Believe it or not, but around here even the freakin green beans are made with ham. The baked beans are topped with bacon slices. So going to Christmas dinner is a pain in the rear. The salads offered usually have some kind of meat in them too, whether it's shredded chicken or crumbled bacon. I always bring a fully veggie…

Maybe it's just my family. :drinker:

If they don't want to hear anymore, all they have to do is stop asking follow-up questions.

Seeing as you think that regular ol' omnivores eat vegetarian dishes, you probably wouldn't ask. Where I live, only vegetarians eat the vegetarian dishes. Sad, but true. But at least those who have asked haven't been rude enough to then roll their eyes at me. ;-)

LOL! I'm avoiding my work too. I've got a stack of papers to grade, I just can't face right now.

I've stopped tracking the sugar because MFP doesn't differentiate between the sugar in my fruits and the added sugars. I track fiber now.

It just seems strange to me that you don't care what I eat, but you do care what I call it.

Avocado, frozen cherries, spinach (or kale), almond milk, and a dash of cocoa!

Explaining is not a big deal to me. It's a conversation. Usually people who ask are simply curious, so I answer their questions. Saying I "have to explain" makes it sound like a chore. I didn't intend for it to sound that way. I was just answering the OP as to what I say when specifically asked. Maybe in your area people…

I get questions a lot IRL about what I'm eating, why I am not eating XYZ, and whether or not I am a vegetarian. I have only been coming to the boards on here for a couple weeks. But whereas IRL people ask the questions because they are curious, here I haven't been asked any questions but I have now (and all by you, BTW)…

Trying too hard at what? At answering a direct question? I'm not just throwing this term out there for no reason. When someone asks a question, I answer it. Just as others answer that they are gluten-free, or low-carb, or any other number of diet options. I answer in the shortest and easiest answer possible. Maybe you…

I quit soda a couple years ago. I don't miss it at all. Good luck!

So in the 1800s the term "vegetarian" showed up in western countries, but it was ambiguous. People who ate dairy and eggs called themselves vegetarians, all the way to people who wouldn't eat anything that came from an animal or wear anything/use anything that came from an animal. Everyone learned the term. It became…

Human nature likes to organize things (and unfortunately people) so yes, damn science. People like to have some kind of box to put you (general) in. So I give them a label I am comfortable using. It is much easier and makes for less questions when I say I am a flexitarian. Then no one believes I am judging their…

Everyone is an omnivore. Vegetarians still eat fruits, veggies, nuts, seeds, grains. Some even eat dairy and eggs.
-
I say I am flexitarian. I am a pretty specific flexitarian because I only eat meat that either I produce myself or that I know was raised humanely with grass and sunshine etc. I am very open about my diet and don't get annoyed when people ask me about it.

Think about it differently. When you make your plan you choose to eat a deficit of calories in order to lose weight. Or you choose to exercise a certain amount of calories each day and create your deficit by exercising. Or you choose to do a bit of both. I set my mfp account up so that I eat a deficit of 250 calories AND…

Thanks, Moonbeams. You can do this! I have a question for anyone who has done the workout. During the first circuit the end of the circuit is reverse crunches. My insteps start to burn like they are starving for blood. Is there anything I can do to help this out? I've been pausing the video between the first and second…

It takes 6 weeks for you to notice, 12 weeks for those who love you to notice, and at least 18 weeks for others to notice. Stick with it. It takes time, but it's worth it!

I started the shred on August 13th. I planned on doing it for 6 days then 1 day of rest. I can already see the difference. I was sore for the first 3 days, but now I feel my endurance bumping up. I followed Anita (modified) for the first 2 days but slowly built up to following Natalie for everything now!
