I found a muffin recipe that's been fantastic... 2 eggs 1 container of nonfat yogurt (6 or 8 oz) Use the yogurt container to measure the same amount of oat bran 3 tsp baking powder 1 tsp some sort of flavored extract Sweetener to taste Cinnamon, etc to taste My current favorite is maple extract - then I use plain greek…

I started out doing it every day, but found that the progressions were easier with a day (or two) of rest in between. (The rest days usually involved walking a mile or two, but not "training".)

Or different mirrors! I've got one in my bedroom on the back of my door... I know what that looks like. But then, I started Zumba at a new studio with a wall of mirrors... They don't love me like my mirror loves me... (Not sure if it's been good motivation to keep plugging away or a reason to not ever go back so I…

Caldo Verde tonight - not sure that there's a veg version (perhaps soyrizo would sub for the linguica?)...

I'm pretty close... about 45 min south-east. (depending on where in Sac you are)

He doesn't like killing animals but ordered the chicken? Does he know that chickens don't grow on trees? Uh, and as far as the money thing goes... R.U.D.E! :noway:

How big are your spinach leaves??? I just scramble them in with the eggs, same as I'd do with any other vegetable... (btw - they're really good with red bell peppers and mushrooms tossed in as well).
-
I never shower until I've gotten my workout in for the day, for the purpose of avoiding the possibility of this being the excuse... (fortunately - for myself, and others - I work from home).

I    it! BTW - I just reconstitute with water.

I'm at 150 crunches/sit-ups for the day as of right now... will complete 250 more by the end of the day. (Trying to space it out a bit and do 50 every hour...)

That's such a wonderful thing to hear. I've been training for my first 5k for quite some time (brief hiatus due to back injury), and it still feels impossible. I'd love to be able to run a 10k in the next 6 months, and a half in the next year. It's great to hear that it's not an impossible goal... thanks for today's…

Fruit... but something really sweet (in-season) and juicy... peaches, cantaloupe, strawberries (with whipped cream). Or sometimes those Cocoa Roast Almonds suffice as well.

Pork loin, shrimp, salmon...

Sounds like you're definitely not sedentary. I'd bump up your activity level and not worry about tracking/logging the particulars of your commute(s).
-
I used to always pack dinner leftovers for lunch at work the next day.
-
Hmm - never thought about anything like this! Sounds tasty though... perhaps for breakfast tomorrow.

My son's ortho told him he can eat with the trays in... she said it actually is a bit better, as they're so tight that food can't get in. She just said to stay away from soda, etc when they're in.

You can also sub lettuce leaves for the tortillas...
-
I like the 1st ones as well.

I'd also recommend bringing some healthy snacks. This will allow you to eat small quantities of "their" food, and have something to make up the difference when you're still hungry. I'm sure they'd all love if you brought some veggies and dip, too - for appetizers.

I jog at 4.0 also. I can walk (fast) up until about the time I'm at 3.6/3.7, and 5.0 is a run. So no - it's not just you. (BTW - when I do log my jogs, I hate that it's in the exercise database as "Walking 4.0"...)

Yes - I had lost a good amount of weight a few years ago, and it took a lot of adjusting to how people treated me. Especially the male attention part. I'll never forget the time my (at the time 12-ish) year old son was shopping with me and pointed out that there was a guy behind me looking at my tush. And there was a…

MMM - Kim chee! I'd recommend starting with one labeled as "fresh". Think of it as spicy sauerkraut. It's a fermented (usually cabbage) with chilis, vinegar, and other spices. Some of it includes dried fish/fish paste and is really stinky. That being said - I love it.... but it's one of those acquired taste, love/hate…

Mashed potatoes, peas and sausages? (That's the most substantial thing I saw...) Salmon cakes, roasted potato wedges and peas... Or a chicken-based shepherd's pie?
-
Hmm - I'll have to give this a go. I always lumped almond milk into the category of "it's cheaper and easier to buy". Guess I was wrong! BTW - where are you getting your almonds from??
-
HB egg cheese almonds protein shake chicken breast (I make a bunch of the tenderloins at the beginning of the week, and use them for snacks/salads throughout)

This is a good question... I have a deck that I have to step up once to get to. And, really no other stairs in town. (It's a very small town.) Maybe the treadmill at max incline can count for stairs, unless I think of anything else in the meantime.
-
Today is super busy - but I'll try to fit a jog/walk in *somewhere*. I did do my challenges, though!
-
If you have access to a treadmill, maybe try actually running barefoot for a bit to see how it feels.
