@neon, thanks! It's from my last form check video :) Amazing lifting ladies! There are some crazy workouts and great numbers here! You ladies are all machines! Anyway, I did squats Friday of last week and failed at 185 pounds. I got the rep but definitely don't think I hit parallel, so I'll be repeating those numbers…

x4, so awesome!

Happy Friday and great lifting ladies!! @katro - Thanks! I kind of forgot about box jumps until everyone started talking about them on here, and although I worry for my shins, I do love them, so I'm attempting them after squat days in a Tabata-like form, 10 box jumps (20 sec) then 10 sec rest, repeat as many times as I…

Great lifting ladies! The rack hogger is definitely an asshat  ETA: I still break out in a cold sweat each and every time I foam foll, it hurts and feels so good! I did OHP and deadlifts yesterday, except I forgot to write down my weights in my phone, so I was guessing. Turns out I err'd on the light side for OHP…

Thanks for the pic! I could definitely see how that would be painful with a barbell resting on those. My best suggestion is to do the racerback for the squats, but if you can, grab a thin ankle sock or something like that, fold it in half, and see if you can slide it underneath the circles (right against your skin). If you…

What does the back of your bra look like, or what kind is it? Is there any way to slide some extra material underneath the metal circles? Anything that can add a bit of extra padding in between the circles and your skin might help with the bruising.

Happy Tuesday ladies! (It is Tuesday right??) @Red, third vote for a sports bra here :) Great lifting ladies, there's so much awesome happening in here! I did bench press/squats last night, my 3 week of 5/3/1. Squats: 5 x 80 pounds 5 x 95 pounds 3 x 115 pounds 3 x 135 pounds 3 x 155 pounds 3 x 175 pounds-I got this, but…

Hi November, I'm definitely not a squat expert, but I thought I'd offer my comments anyway :) Are you looking to do high bar or low bar squats? See the pic below (HB-middle, LB-right) for the difference: Your bar placement and foot placement seem pretty well set up for high bar, and if that's the case, my only suggestion…

The second link works, and great job on getting 180! :) My comments: Do you use chalk or something similar at all? If it's your grip and not your form, chalk is super helpful at heavier weights. ETA: Are you doing a double overhand grip or a mixed grip? If it's overhand, try switching to a mixed grip instead (made a huge…

Welcome! I go to a gym, and I do usually 2 cardio sessions a week in addition to SL (I do Wendler now technically, after I stalled on SL).

Good morning ladies!! I think I overdid it with 2 strength workouts in one day, I'm really lethargic today, and sore, so I decided to push my squats/bench press to Monday instead so that I'll actually have enough energy to do the hike tomorrow with the mountain man. I did OHP yesterday evening, my 3 week of 5/3/1. Sets: 5…

Oh so in on this! Strength: 1. Hit over 200 pounds on my deadlift 2. Break current plateau on my OHP, I want either 5 x 70 pounds or 3 x 75 pounds 3. Do 10 unassisted dips 4. Do one unassisted chinup (not sure I can get this in May, but I'll do it in June then!) Cardio: 1. Do at least one 60 min or 10 km run each week 2.…

Take a look at these two videos: http://www.t-nation.com/training/defranco-agile-8 Minute ~1:11 shows inner thigh rolling https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FSSDLDhbacc ~3:18 shows inner thigh rolling in a slighly different way The rest is just an extended warmup recommended pre squats :) ETA: Not going to lie, I do get funny…

Do you feel like you're going to tumble forwards or backwards? If it's forwards, where are you positioning the bar on your shoulders? If the bar is too high on your shoulders it might not be lined up properly, and that could be why you're tipping forward (if that's what's happening).

5/3/1 has warmup sets built in, but pre weights, I do cardio (rowing for upper body days and treadmill for lower body days) until I just start to sweat (usually 5 min or so), and then I do Joe DeFranco's Limber 11 warmup: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FSSDLDhbacc

I've experienced soreness, but it was when I started to do split squats, so I'm guessing not the same thing you're talking about. Do you foam roll your inner thighs? I started foam rollering my lower body before squat sessions, and it really helped loosen things up. I used to get significant IT band pain on my left leg…

Good morning ladies, happy Thursday! @random, that gif is too funny! @wolfsbayne, way to go on the NSV! @neon, gotta love those days:ohwell: My roommate ended up melting down last night, so gym happened this morning instead. I'm doing double duty today, I was supposed to do OHP and Deadlift and decided to split the workout…

Well...I don't think I got any of these, except for my long run on Sundays/hiking once a week. Food was not good overall this month, so I'll be working on the same things for May.

My pre-workout snack, no matter the time of day, is dairy heavy, but works like a charm for me. 125g of cottage cheese (I use 2%) 175g of greek yogurt (I use 2%) 100g of raspberries or blackberries dash of cinnamon Comes in at ~300 calories, 33g of protein, 8g of fat, 26g of carbs, 9g of fiber, and 567mg of sodium, and you…

Sorry to hear your little one is sick, I hope it's a fast recovery! I run on a treadmill in the winter, but the run yesterday was outside. We're finally starting to get some nice weather, but I'll run outside in any temperature above -20C, provided that it's not icy. I hate falling and am totally accident prone, so I avoid…
