I do! I eat zero added sugar and also *only* get my carbs from those natural in veg or nuts. And some dairy. (<<I have to live this way, so I think it actually makes it easier). Eating zero of: grains, rice, fruits, starch and other types of veg, any level of sugar or preservative, etc., I *still* average ~50 daily carbs.…

Take the simplest approach possible: remind yourself daily that you don't get to redo your ONE life. Works for me for absolutely everything

Go for it!! I'm going for my 8th grade weight currently.

Dude/ette it sounds like Atkins...which is not a bad thing :)

I have a reminder set daily in my phone that says "it doesn't matter if you eat or don't eat :) :) " this is saying that I feel the same whether I eat unnecessarily or not, so I just let it ride..food doesn't fix anything in the mind!

Well, skinny is the actual minority in the USA, with a great percentage of the population being overweight or obese. So being "thin" or "skinny" tends to look weird to us, heavy to healthier countries. This is *a* reason smaller people are sometimes viewed as "emaciated". And yes, healthy correlates with normal weight. A…

Yeah, thank you! To call people "rude" with personal and/or medical experience with thyroid issues is asinine. I gained right around the same, 30-40 lbs. "Post #s": meaning, if TSH is up there, 5,6,7,8, 9, 10, whatever, that person WILL HAVE A PROBLEM LOSING WEIGHT. It's science. Mockery? I've had a busted thyroid for many…

The generic "palm" rule always works for me, without a scale. palm-size of meat = ~4 oz :) It's not much to get to 4 oz. I know! I also notice I can eat seafood and vegetable in abundance, without oil/butter of course. I throw on a lot of seasoning. Also, must log the seasoning...e.g. taco seasoning is 10 cals/tsp.,…

even if you're miscalculating, I doubt it's by half. have thyroid checked ever? report tsh #s back here if so!

Everyone will settle into what works for them. This is one tried-and-true idea of infinite available options. Please don't allow default reactions in life to be oppositional...that's also not healthy :) no one is the same, and yes, the population overall eats too much sugar. And sorry I cannot input on your micros and…

Yes. It's a campaign of mine and shouldn't detriment the validity of the posts!

For sure. I actually don't use it either, but no longer stress over its occurrence in foods.

Very true for many! :) this post is for those that feel restricted and seek daily satisfaction in a similar way to me; I assume some are out there.

It's a preference to motivate those struggling with dieting. My statements are positive and others-focused and I wish for a healthy country.

I'd prefer support over debate so that some people can benefit! I've been through it all and I think the 1st sentence of this post has the potential to be strong to some crowd; if I can help even 1 person, I'm happy.
