I was waiting to see what the replies are. Part of me was also thinking about buying decent sounding cheapy ones knowing they will be replaced often, but If I can find something that fits what I'm looking for and is maybe around $100-$125 max then I might consider that.

Lots of people around here use the Dr Dre over the ears headphones. I even call this one guy at the gym "Dr. Dreadlocks" or "Dr. Dreads" He has these long dreadlocks and is always wearing his Dr. Dre's no matter wear he is in the gym or what he is doing. lol
-
The funny thing is that I only have a problem with them slipping out on the right side, maybe my ears are not the same size. lol

Feel free to add me, I enjoy helping and motivating people.

I love Madison. UW graduate!!

That may be another option. As I'm losing 2-3 pounds I week, I need to update the weight on here, on my heart rate monitor and the weight I enter on machines more frequently than once a month.

feel free to add me if you want. that goes for anyone reading this. :)

Wisconsin will always be my second home. I'm from Illinois but spent most of my weekends for about 30 years up there, boating/jetskiing, snowmobiling, water skiing, mountain biking and cross country skiing. Most of my lifelong best friends are from Wisconsin, great people!!! We had a house on Lauderdale Lakes which is just…

Count me in. It will be hard, but I think I will be real happy in one month. :) Heck, If I'm tracking my food/exercise and meeting those goals, I have nothing to worry about.

re: Doreen, "Maybe I just need to get in better shape so I can speak instead of nod in response! " lol, I know what you mean.

I would say it a great thing if you have no pet peeves, maybe I'm too sensitive and aware about this stuff. :) One time I was on the treadmill doing a brisk 90 minute walk while watching a movie on my Ipad(with headphones) and this personal trainer interrupts me while I'm in the middle of the movie to solicit his training…

re: putting weights back: I don't do much with free weights, but I have heard that complaint many times at our health club. I assume they are the same people who leave their towels all over the locker room. :)
-
re; PT'ers: Now I was wondering this about when this happens to females. Are they sometimes hitting on you versus soliciting training sessions? Not that I wouldn't mind if our female Pt'ers were hitting on me, but that's not the case. :)

5-6 days a week, I try for 6. My body is pretty good at letting me know when it needs a rest day.
-
Not a myth as others have explained, but most people working out who may feel their body is in starvation mode, are usually wrong.
-
I like your part of the kid thinking exercise is a way of life, unlike waiting until they are much older and they see it is as a choir that is done to lose weight
-
Oh, go for it. This is great that she is joining in. She is learning by the good habits she is seeing from you and hopefully she will continue with these good habits the rest of her life.

All great things.

Our sauna is coed and in the common pool area, the steam rooms are located in the locker rooms

Good points about having too talk much louder to talk over the noise of the machines. Texting hasn't bothered me since i dont hear the incoming text tones in my gym. I don't even know how they text while working out. I see some of the younger adults/teens cranking away on the eliptical at hyper speed and texting at the…

Wow, I cant believe those guys did that. Yeah, that was inconsiderate. IMO
-
I never researched it, but common sense had me thinking the same thing.
-
. There are quite a few who do this
-
I don't talk on the cellphone while at the gym, but only because I want to get away from the phone for that time period. I certainly could care less if someone else is talking on theirs, as long it's not on speaker. Again, I workout at a large health club and may feel different if I used a small gym
-
Yes, I use a heart rate monitor and yes the calories the game estimates being burned is very low.
-
Music is what gets me going at the gym and I mouth along the words and maybe sometimes forget and may sing out aloud. :) I look at it that they are motivated and working out and it would not bother me. imo I think the size of the gym matters also. If it's a small gym and not much other noise then yes it could be annoying.…

Same thing happened to me after it calculated my vo2max. I have a FT40 also. I can't remember what was said, but there was great information about it on the polarfitness forums. You are getting more accurate results now.

Some good answers here. Yeah, I know I can eat a ton and eat anything after a good workout so it's a choir to make sure I don't over do it with the bad stuff.

awesome story!!

I learned to make my sauce from watching my Mom, but that was a choir in itself. 1)She did not have to measure anything, she could just tell when the correct amount of anything was added. 2)She added wine to her sauce and she was pretty drunk by the time she was done. LOL RIP Mom!!! I miss you.
