  • I agree with those who reduce quantity, but maintain quality. I log my beer like anything else, try to plan for a couple pints when I go out, and regularly have to forego a drink all together if I am at my limit for the day. Stone IPA is my standard, but I've got a bottle of Breckenridge Small Batch 471 (a great IPA)…
  • It is exactly 50 lbs lost and will be my lowest weight since high school. But it is still in the overweight range of the BMI, so I'll re-evaluate when I get there and probably set a new goal.
  • Those are great success. It's the accumulation of little things that make this process worth it.
  • I've seen other people help out with images. I thought I'd give it a try. Great job!
  • I agree with Keegan. Pick one and try it for a for days. I don't make plans as detailed as yours, but after a few days of being hungry after lunch I found that Breakfast + Lunch >= 1000 cal works best. I wouldn't have known without trial and error.
  • Don't think about your dessert like it's something to be ashamed of. You've earned it at the end of the day by making good choices in your other meals. Sometimes, when I know want dessert, I Iog it in the morning. It sits there all day as a reminder to not screw up.

  • The losing weight part is simple. Take whatever you are eating now and eat less of it. It's not easy, but it is simple. Get a food scale, some measuring cups, and use the very thorough MFP database. Enter everything you eat and don't go over your goal. You will see results if you are honest with yourself and consistent…
  • Besides MFP, I use Libra. It is a weight tracking app that produces a trend line to smooth out daily weight fluctuations. Using the trend line, it can also analyze your calorie deficit (or surplus) which I find to be good check on MFP's values and predictions. It is good for people who are in to numbers and stats, like me.…
  • It means Non Scale Victory. It's an accomplishment other than the number on the scale. I just had one actually. I starting using the last hole on my belt. I'll have to punch a new one pretty soon.
  • There aren't too many posts from guys, so I think a fraternal MFP twin would be good. G - Male A - 29 H - 5' 9" SW - 244 CW - 226 GW - 190 I've been using MFP for a couple months. I think its a great tool and I've had some success. I don't have any friends yet because I haven't been looking. Talking about weight loss and…
  • It can be hard enough just to meet the daily goal without trying to go under it for a few days. When I go over I make an extra effort the next day (today) to hit the target. Then hit it again the the day after, and the day after and so on. One bad day won't ruin everything. But trying to starve myself more than usual has…
