I thought veggies were the best fiber source available... Just eat plenty of them and you should be good?

Lost 50 lbs in 3.5 months. Low fat, moderate carb, high protein. Didn't track a damn calorie, ate a large thin crust domino's pizza a day, everyday. Worked 2 jobs, always on my feet, and ran a ridiculous amount of distance. This time around, it has taken me longer to lose weight(more to lose even), I am low carb, high fat,…

Nevermind, I found out how to work it so I can use it. Just create my own food.

The issue is the mayonnaise I am going to be using is going to be my own product. I know it is nitpicking pretty hard. But I am working on reducing sodium and moving into the more primal/paleo intake. So the main stream mayonnaise won't really be giving me the same numbers. Its not a huge deal, just would be awesome if I…

This will blow up... Just find your BMR and keep above that. Don't overcomplicate your life.
-
I find it amusing how there must be expansion on the "KISS" answer I provided. :D This site has a lot of people who make things far more cerebral than they need to be. :D
-
I'll stick to bacon crusted pizza.
-
Sugar is sugar no matter the source. That being said, natural sources bring other benefits to the table. (Fiber, vitamins, etc)

Paleo/Primal is a pretty easily manageable life style that is low carb. If you like veggies, some fruits, meats, nuts, it is about as easy as it gets. I also get a higher carb intake than most paleo/primal would recommend, but I don't really want to do carb cycling or any of that crap. Primal taught me to just focus on…

You can be low carb and not encounter any of this issue. If you go from eating the SAD of like 300-500g of terribly awful carbs and switch to natural carb sources you'll be under 200 pretty easily, and if you're active you will be fine. The key is just to cut the garbage sources out.
-
Depends on the fat and the ratios really. If you're staying under calories, getting your fats from healthy sources(natural stuff like nuts and such) then I wouldn't worry. I eat 40% from fat and like 25% from carbs.

Super duper incorrect information. BMI is not a valid indicator for how fast your body goes into "starvation mode." lolol I am so happy you're on this topic, really.
-
This is supported by the BF% measurements of course...

Wait so HCG: Gives you energy? Protects your muscles from the body? Tells your body to release fat for fuel? You don't have as much of an appetite? Your body burns 3500 extra calories a day to destroy 1 lb of fat a day? I'm IN! (Considering I have worn a HRM for 24 hours, and my 230 lb active body without exercise in that…

Yes, assumptions through science never got anyone anywhere ever before. I don't think anyone here will argue that starving your body won't lose you weight, we argue about the healthy level of loss. Lean body mass is important, you should protect it.
-
Wait, you're saying these drops give me energy? Like the energy drinks? Wow I guess I can stop buying all those energy drinks to pump me up for my work outs! (Please, I do not use energy drinks to get to my workout. Sleep+Good food.) But seriously, you lack a serious understanding of the body. Just keep shooting your…

Science counts for nothing, clearly.

The more carbs you eat, the more active you need to be to make use of them. Last time I lost 50 lbs I was running everyday and working in some body weight exercise. I ate a large thin crust domino's pizza a day. I also was on my feet for 1 full time job as a sales person and then I delivered pizza for my part time job at…

What is funny here? I read the post before that talks about Standard American Diet... Which is kind of influenced by that "12 servings of grains a day" nonsense(IMO). Then I read this, and just laughed. Draw conclusions as necessary. :D

I have SUPER flat feet, my arch is almost ridic bad. I went to a local running place and explained to the gentleman that I wanted to get to minimalist shoes as really only wanted shoes on my feet to protect from things I would step on that could injure my foot. I have to use Dr Scholl's 420 series support for my work shoe…

From my understanding, sugar is a sugar and it handles it the same way regardless of the source. That being said, the nutrients that go WITH the sugar can make a difference. Like with fruit, it comes with fiber which has its own value. Also antioxidants. Vitamins, good stuff.
-
ill have to go buy ther and get some, ill take vitamins and i feel like i have a little more energy with the one a day but it just be me lol [/quote] GNC Mens gave me an energy kick as well. But now I just use a diet that keeps my energy in GOGOGO mode.
-
The GNC worked pretty well for me. This was also 5+ years ago, and notice, not using it now. :D I generally think 1 a day is pretty worthless.
-
My basic theory on people who need the polarizing stances on how things in the world work is simply that they are mentally inferior to a part of the population. This isn't saying they are any less intelligent, but their brain has poor reasoning skills and cannot interpret without having a clear line. For example, my dad…
-
The same reason they think that eating at specific timed intervals makes a huge difference. They need a black/white illustration and cannot handle grey interpretation. Their metabolism is obviously sitting there w/ a watch tapping its foot when you haven't fed it that meal within a second...
-
If it is the generic one a day, pretty much a waste from everything I have read. I'd look at something like GNC Sports Men or whatever, I used that a while back and did fine. Was affordable and everything. I use Animal Pak now.
-
Hey hey, I am for supplements, for the right reason. :D From looks of it, you are doing just fine.
-
This sounds a LOT like a sales pitch to me.
-
I'd guess high sugar/carb and it is high in fructose. I personally don't care and eat a banana a day when I am active. (So, basically, daily)
-
' I wasn't saying that at all. This OP is talking about 2-3 servings a day. Not stuffing their face full of fruits. And I didn't feel that it was worth worrying about. I was only referring to natural sources(versus added) because the natural sources usually come with other things that help your body, fiber would be the…
