Now see, I guess I'm the odd man out. Mine was a little earlier than normal this month, heavier, longer and my cramps are WAY worse than usual. Thank goodness it's finally going away.

It sounds to me like they are definitely trying to cover themselves. I also agree with HealthyChanges2 that it doesn't sound like they know the proper way to take BP. Since you've already seen your doctor, I'd go ahead and get the letter from him stating that your BP was only on the high side of normal when he saw you and…

Yep, I do that too!

Thanks guys. I really appreciate the advice and good wishes. Lol, now to send my boyfriend out for Gatorade. :)

That's great to know! Thank you. I really like IHOP too and was worried about going there myself. It's nice to know they have stuff like that that's reasonable to eat.

Also from what I understand, 1200 calories is the bare minimum one needs to survive. You have to eat at least that in order to lose weight or your body will go in to starvation mode as Angie so adeptly explained.

My son is lactose intolerant and really enjoys Almond milk. He even adds chocolate syrup to make chocolate almond milk sometimes and says it's VERY good.

Weight Watchers English Toffee Ice Cream Bars are delicious and chocolatey and only 110 calories. If it doesn't HAVE to be chocolate then you could also go with 1/2 cup of canned pineapple (in it's own juice) and 2 tablespoons of whipped cream or non dairy whipped topping if you prefer and those together are only 95…

Hi Eldrene, I'm an emotional eater too. I've only recently started my journey but I've already been tested. What I did was drink a big glass of water and then took a shower. The water filled me up and gave me that comforting swallowing feeling and the shower was relaxing. I know it's hard, but we can do this! Please feel…

You can get addicted to calorie counting? If so, I'd have to say it's better than being addicted to food (which I was until recently). Now I actually have fun checking the calories and making them fit into my day. If I want a little treat I work for it.

I made Turkey Alfredo the other night. Even my boyfriend who doesn't like "diet food" loved this. It's actually really easy. 1 pkg of Jennie-O turkey cutlets (cut up into bite size pieces) 1/2 pkg of dry Fettuccine noodles 1 whole Portobello mushroom cap (cut into slices) 1 bunch of green onions (diced) 1 12oz jar of…

Hey ^.^ You'll find LOTS of people on this site that can relate. I'm one of them. I've tried losing all my excess weight on and off for 20 years. This is the only time I've felt like I actually have a shot at it. You have to remember, you're not really "starting over". You're just continuing. You've had a little setback…

You CAN do it! Once you give up the McDonalds you'll feel better. That stuff is just no good for anyone. Maybe you could bring a small cooler in your car / truck with a healthy lunch and snacks?

Thanks for all the great responses. I'll have to remember to stretch more after I exercise!

I have a skinny friend who showed me some of her honeymoon photos last week. Before joining MFP I probably wouldn't have noticed, but the first thing I saw was what she had for breakfast. Most people would probably look at it and think it was healthy, but I was curious. I came home and looked everything up on MFP. 1800…

Unfortunately my daughter is 22, so I can't blame it on teen angst. :-\

I don't know, honestly. My daughter is Vegan and I've noticed that since she started eating all Vegan she's been a lot more angry and well... mean. :(
-
Thanks for the recipe! I served this last night with rice and WOW was it good. Everyone here enjoyed it (even my boyfriend who doesn't like "diet" food.)

No they're really not. You can check out the reasons why here: http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/201058/is_diet_soda_worse_than_regular_soda.html http://waterforlifeusa.com/blog/uncategorized/8-ways-soda-fizzles-your-health/

I generally put all my calories in after I eat them and just keep a running balance in my head. However, if it's something I'm planning to make that I'm not sure about the calories, I'll put it in so I can find out before possibly making a mistake.

I'd rather use real butter than all the fakey junk in the other stuff. I read an article somewhere that said that the hardeners they use in margarine are way worse for peoples hearts than butter. So I just use less of the real stuff.

My condolences on your dad Eileen. It was hard on me when I lost my dad too. I can't say time will heal this, cause I don't believe it will... it'll just make it not hurt quite so much. 1 month is not a long time and I can understand that you have little motivation. Just remember that your dad would want you to be healthy…

You can absolutely start over again! Like you, I was in a really bad place for quite a while. (Death of both my parents, losing my house to foreclosure, my young son contracting leukemia, the death of my Akita dog Hachiko who was like my baby, Divorce, etc.) I wasn't at a place in my life where I could concentrate on…

Of course not! A lot of moms (me included) tend to forget that we're people with needs like everyone else. It's not like you're neglecting your kids. They're doing their thing and now you have the time to do yours. It sounds to me like you must be a pretty caring mother to be so concerned about that.

Hmm, the things I had to let go of? I'd have to say all the emotional baggage that my ex-husband gave me. I had to stop carrying his belief that I'd "never lose weight." or that I'm "a quitter". It helps a lot that my boyfriend loves me for me, fat or thin. Also now that I've explained to my sweetie that I'm not on a…

Yes, and it's SO frustrating. I know my boyfriend loves me, but since I went on this plan he's been doing a lot of "Are you SURE you can't eat this?" while holding up something that's a no no. Today I explained to him that I'm not on a "diet", I'm on a budget. Sure I "could" eat a little bit of that (insert bad for me food…

Your friends just love you for who you are, and that includes the you that YOU want to be. Take their words as words of love for who you are inside and become healthy for yourself. And what Handerso said is true. Your mom is just worried about your health. After looking at your calorie intake, I have to agree with the…

Don't give up!!! If you're eating right and exercising you might just be replacing fat with muscle. Muscle weighs more but takes up less space. Try measuring yourself today and then again a week from now. Even if your weight isn't changing much you might be losing inches!

For me it was going to a friends wedding with my wonderful boyfriend. He thinks I'm beautiful the way I am and I love him even more for it... however, the wedding photos told a different story. I looked at them and thought to myself, "Gah! I used to be so cute!!! Now I look like his old, pregnant auntie!". Although I "am"…

But... this is a triumph! I'm making a note here: HUGE SUCCESS! :-P
