Wow, that's a perspective I had never thought about! I frequently think people are being over sensitive when they bring up race differences...but I certainly think you have some real grounds in your argument. And I live in Montana, where there are like NO black people (I wish we had a little more cultural variety here…

It doesn't matter WHEN you eat, it only matters HOW MUCH. EAT AS CLOSE as you can get to your goal.

Male or female, attributing anything SIGNIFICANT (yes, people are treated SLIGHTLY different based on looks) in your life to YOUR APPEARANCE (unless you have been horrifically burned or something) is really, really stupid. It's not her looks I have a problem with. It's her VANITY. Yeah, there are shallow people out there.…

She probably is just a big flirty tease (and an arrogent one at that!). You don't have to be pretty (c'mon, she is nothing special!) to get desperate men's attention, you just have to seem attainable.

If her maintenance (TDEE) is 1690, and her cut is 500, her GOAL is 1,190. If she works out and burns 200 and then eats them back, her NET GOAL is STILL 1,190. Yes, her caloric INTAKE is actually 1,390, but her NET (which is what MFP keys to) is 1,190. I kind of think we are saying the same thing just backward but the…

AS YOU SHOULD, but then your NET, would be the same because cals burned and then eaten back is cancelled out. For example: if your goal is 1,100, and you exercise 200 cals off, and because you are an intelligent person and you know you should you eat back 200 because you are at such a precarious caloric goal, your NET is…

Ah, the conundrum all DON'T-GO-UNDER-1200!!-Crazies fear. It is perfectly reasonable, UNAVOIDABLE actually, if you are of a shorter height and sedentary for you to NOT have to drop below 1,200 to keep your 1 lb per week cut.IIT'S JUST THE WAY THE MATH WORKS PEOPLE. You have two choices: lower your lb per week weight loss…

YUS!!! I joined powderpuff football last year because it was as close as I could get and honestly....it seperates the "men from the boys"...there were "tough biker chicks" that had to "take a break" because they got knocked on their butt, and then my little friend who was a 5' nothing sweetie got thrown out for choking…

What COULDN'T be great/healthy/reliable about a plan that involves hormone-infested horse piss?:noway: I swear, people will buy ANYTHING in a fancy wrapper.

Good for you. But the board here was how to prepare chicken, not for you to tout your personal beleifs about not eating it. Probably have better luck preaching somewhere else....
-
I HATE chicken (I see it as a necessary evil) but, this recipe makes me want to try it, thanks!!

If you eat 80% of your TDEE (20% cut) you will be eating at a 332 cut, which means you will lose a pound every 10 or so days (3500 cals in a pound). If you want to lose faster than that, you could cut your intake to 1,200, which would be a 436 cut, so a pound every 8 days. I personally would not be satisfied with a pound…

Olive oil + parmesan DONE.

:frown: Yeah I don't like to walk or run by myself either. Since joining MFP, I have mostly given up social drinking and now spend most time with my friends through conning them into going on walks with me. If none of your friends are in, maybe you can find someone who lives nearby from MFP?

ADORE my Polar ft4 HRM. Found it at Bodytronics.com for $62 with free shipping and handling...the guy at the sporting store wanted to charge me $90....cell phone's internet access paid for itself that month!

Get pregnant....my sisters hair grew almost fast enough to watch. Maybe it was the prenatal vitamins? I have always heard vitamins help alot.

I'm sure you're right, they probably figure you are criticising them. Which is silly, unless you are saying something really flamboyant every time like "No I CAN'T have ANOTHER ONE or I will gain weight, YOU EAT UP CARMEN" lol which I doubt you are. But they are probably a little senstivie about their figure and assume you…

I know EXACTLY what you mean. It's like if you are actually upfront about your hard work people tear you down (you are "OBSESSED with losing weight" because you aren't eating three brownies and you are satisfied with just one OMG!!!!!". :frown: I think alot of it stems from jealousy, the rest of it from ignorance. Either…

You're right. I shouldn't use "fatties" when there are obviously "skinnies" out there who want to be discouraging. :grumble: I LOVE how you suggested that I have an eating disorder. Lol. THIS IS EXACTLY THE KIND OF IGNORANCE I AM UPSET OVER!! :explode: I ADORE my beautiful body and NEVER want to deprive it of being…

Sure, it helps. Like going the wrong way down a track helps you win the race. :noway:

It certainly does! When you begin to ovulate, your uterus begins lining itself with blood and nutrients in preparation for supporting a baby. This builds and builds (and you usually retain water overall as well because your hormones are going full bore), until, when your body realizes the egg hasn't been fertilized, that…
-
That does seem like alot, but it does seem possible to me. I burn 450 cals walking if I'm out for an hour and a half or so. Since you have a Polar, I would trust it. Check your user info though to make sure it's current.

Did you know that in America 2/3rd of all people in their 20s and 30s have at least one tattoo? It's funny because getting a tattoo was once thought of as being "rebelious" but now it is actually rebelious (at least to be in the minority, anyway) to NOT have one. Which is why I don't.
-
I depends. I have only done it with running and walking and the HRM is usually slightly lower for running and higher for walking. Your HRM is going to be more accurate than any database (as long as you gave it accurate & current info) because it is set to you. Trust it if you have a good quality one. :flowerforyou:

I know my maintenence is 1,800 because I had been eating at 1,150 cals a day for 7 weeks and I lost 1.4 lbs a week. No, it's not exact smarty pants, but it's a pretty good estimate. And yeah, people are "much more active than originally thought." Which is why everyone is overweight.... I love how your arguement to…
-
Sorry, I get a bit excited. I hate it when other people discourage and mislead others. :grumble: Usually it is just out of ignorance though so I shouldn't be such a brat....
-
Yeah, you have moderate exercise. You're right I shouldn't have assumed that she was sedentary but I think my assumption is safer than your as that most people are sedentary. I agree iwth you, she shouldn't be losing more than 1 lb a week, maybe even just 1/2 lb a week. But my point is, when you are sedentary and you are…
-
UHM, yeah. I am going to assume that basic SCIENCE is the solution: your body burns calories to live, and if you aren't losing weight is because you are not burning enough for what you are eating. I am not going to get into an arguement here about the prevelence of starvation mode. You quite obviously are bitter about…
-
Good for you. I need 1,800 cals a day to maintain my weight, and I am 5'5". That's less than 2,000, first off. Maybe this "Average female" needs close to 2,000 cals a day because the "average female" is OVERWEIGHT. And what do you suggest for women who are shorter than me, which is HALF the female population of the United…

If you can't lose weight for weeks on end, it's BECAUSE YOU ARE EATING TOO MUCH. When you are in your healthy range, and especially when you only have a few lbs to lose, you have to usually eat below your BMR to lose at any see-able pace. I ran the number for another lady and if she were eating at a 15% cut from her TDEE,…
