You can do it yourself here http://www4.weightmirror.com/weightmirror/index.php?id= That is a LOAD of fun - you can make yourself skinny or hugely fat  . Just set your current height and weight once you've scanned in your pic, then set the slider to lose or gain lbs.

Yeh you probably need to save some of your cals for closer to bedtime. I know people sniff at this cos you don't use much energy while asleep but there's nothing worse than not getting enough sleep when it comes to trying to lose the weight..it can ruin the next day's efforts. You might find you need less and less of a…

ach - Mr Coach I'll have to look you up on FB!

ROFL! I just inherited an iphone, now I know what to expect :)

>>chocolate is like crack to me-<< Me too!! but I find if I give it up I end up overdoing on loads of other high cal foods - and do far worse damage than if I'd stuck with a couple of squares of good choc a day. I've decided to give choc drinks a go instead - get some organic cocoa powder - then I can control the amount of…

I just take them out of my newsfeed rather than delete them as friends (click the "hide" button - -roll mouse over right end of one of their messages on your news feed updates) You can always "unhide" them later if you change your mind..

The same way you started this one, we would just have to bookmark it so we don't lose it. We can either put it under same section as this message ie "General diet and weight loss help" or under "Motivation and Support": (http://www.myfitnesspal.com/forums/show/8-motivation-and-support) We could for instance do a weigh-in…

You are saying it for me girl! I'm at my wits end, its exasperating. I'm thinking juicing might be part of the answer - so I've frozen a lot of veg/fruit juice mixes. As you get to the last 10-20lbs more than ever you need max nutrients for minimum cals. & juicing does give you an energy boost ( I can't tolerate vit/min…

Yeh that's pretty awful, but I'm not surprised...producers pander to a public seemingly needing more and more extreme "entertainment". I don't know 'bout anyone else but I don't believe half of what I see/hear in the media, and the more 'popular' the programme the less factual its likely to be - cos facts are generally…

Yes it is a technique used by some people. There is the zig-zag calorie plan which sounds like the sort of thing you're thinking about, here's a calculator that helps you total the amount of cals to have every day. http://www.freedieting.com/tools/calorie_calculator.htm#

Oh that's a whole subject of its own! I think bringing up kids is almost more important than any other occupation, but no one pays you to do that or gives any credit for it (except those kids who might say thanks 20years on )... *unless* you're looking after someone elses kids then it gets to be an acknowledged job with…

As long as 60 is the new 40 ..lol

There is something called post-traumatic hypothalamic obesity .. basically damage to the hypothalamic region (which can occur following TMI,) can cause obesity.. p326 of this google book has a section on it you can read here…

You said it! Good luck to you too :flowerforyou:

>>Is it okay to fall off the wagon once and a while as long as i hope right back on? << Of course it's ok  In fact sometimes it works better with the weight loss if you give yourself a day off once a week or so - a crazy day with the food has even been known to break a weight loss plateau for some reason. I think…

>>because if I do, I tend to binge on it. << hehe - me too. The chocolate stays

Also chocolate has quite a lot of iron in it, which you would expect your bod would be needing if you'd just given blood. I'm sure blood loss is part of the reason why women are so obsessed with chocolate. Except I'm post menopause and still obsessed with chocolate .. Dark chocolate/lean beef comparison: "Data from…

Ditto!!! I never had a weight prob til menopause - now it's SO HARD to lose and it's all round the middle! I hate it! But now Christmas is finally over (just vaccuumed up the last bits of tinsel today), I'm going into do or die mode! I hate being beaten!

>> To put this is context your scale weight on the moon would be 16.5% of what it is on Earth due to the affects of gravity. In other words you would lose "weight" instantly by 83.5% if gravity was less meaning the numbers on the scale would shoot downwards. Would you look any different? No. Would you be healthier? No.>>…

A friend of mine runs a college which trains nutritionists to degree level - and 4 years ago they were teaching their students that eggs were full of good cholesterol - most peeps should eat more of them apparently! And they wonder why we roll our eyes at all the healthy food advice - we all know next year it will be…

Take a day off & revisit the original reasons why you're doing this, list them all out..how important are they to your life & health? Imagine getting there and how much more improved both those will be. Maybe you're flagging cos you already lost enough lbs that you've made that crucial difference...?

Let's make it the best yet! :drinker: :flowerforyou:

I'm just over 5'3" and was 105lbs in high school (called secondary school here). No way could I get down to that again, The food is sooo much better now, I don't live in a freezing house & I don't have teen metabolism any more! I wouldn't go back to that, even to be 105lbs again - it was a pretty grim lifestyle for most…

I'll have 'em if you don't want 'em

Get hold of some lace/coloured bits of felt cut into flower shapes or whatever & sew on a little decoration to cover spots... even it up by adding to both sides ..

I had a toddler and a baby, just passed my driving test, had just moved house & was peeling soggy wallpaper off the wall in the new place & trying to stop my toddler from eating it. It came as a flash across the airwaves. I felt sick.. it really hurt. It was like losing a brother, he was such trailblazer for kids our age.…

Can you half win it if you get 250?

A lot of truth in all these.. and I should add you change in different ways as you go through life. I had no more than the usual probs keeping my weight in hand even after 3 kids, there was a line I wouldn't allow myself to cross, so would have to diet from time to time. Then I hit the menopause and now I'm finding it all…

Age difference? I don't know if MFP takes age into account..

Fascinating. And might explain why I can lose inches but gain weight!
