  • You did a great job with your kids and now they're stepping in when you need it - how cool! Time to spoil yourself a bit and do a great job on YOU (with their help!)
  • Welcome! This is an excellent site for info and motivation. I have only just joined but I love it already; have to lose some lbs for son's wedding next year - I'm determined not the be the rather- too-round one in the wedding photo
  • I LOVE those non-scale victories! It's worth keeping a list of them, they keep you going when the scales are being evil :drinker:
  • Ugly Betty, although I don't really feel guilty about it.
  • Hey! I'm from Berkshire. Not exactly around the globe, but good to see another Brit :) Add me in if you like!
  • Ha! love your attitude  My motivation is I don't like to be beaten by my own bod which thinks it can put a spare tyre where my waist should be just cos I'm not a teenager any more ... lol It is HARD .. but like anything hard that you succeed at in the end, you will have grown as a person from the experience and be…
  • ooo I only just noticed this! Team UK <<cheer>> :drinker: Can I play ? What are the rules? I need to lose about 15lb but it doesn't get easier mid life, your bod *really* doesn't wanna let it go  BTW how do you post picson these threads, anyone?
  • The odd duvet day is not gonna hurt :) But if you're just feeling a bit lethargic, best thing is to set yourself one small thing to do rather than a long list of things. Take your time, then when you finished see if you want to do a few more little things. It won't be a full-on-get-stuff-done kinda day but then it won't be…
  • I've heard it said you shouldn't try to lose more than 1lb a week for the last 10lb - it really is 3 times harder to lose than the rest, in my experience .. but can be done of course, and shouldn't take more than a few months if you can keep it up at 1lb a week. Probably best not to weigh in too often tho or you won't see…
  • Excellent! I LOVE these before and after pixs they are so motivating :flowerforyou:
  • And think of the alternatives - menopause or pregnancy..eeek!....far worse for weight gain
  • Times like that music is my biggest ally. I have a couple of i-pods (I need 2 cos I'm always losing one) & it always amazes me how zoned out I get once I've plugged in to the right music - it sends me off to another world altogether.
  • 30cals ? Definitely not worth worrying about :) It's such a small amount you could easily make up for it tomorrow if it bothers you.
  • jha I checked my BMR a while back it came up with 1290cals as a basic.. Beef jerky huh? I've never tried it - worth a go! As for exercise, I work out 3x a week for 35 mins run-walk on a treadmill, then do 15mins of ab crunches etc.. I'm thinking a lot of my probs are hormonal/metabolic (post-menopause) cos this never…
  • Inspiring!!! Congratulations! :flowerforyou:
  • >>Perhaps your nutritionist could monitor your diet and tweak it so that it is properly balanced for your goals and lifestyle. Good luck! << umm well she is a bit of a fan of super-low carb diets, wanted me to eat no more than 2 portions of fruit a day and cut out almost everything made with milk because milk turns to…
  • this is more like can't concentrate on anything except when I can next eat, door slamming, can't think, prolly shouldn't be driving, hide the cat or I'll strangle it sort of hungry. It's nags away like a toothache for a couple of hours a day. A couple of hours if I'm lucky. Callmefia, I was in WW years ago and still use…
  • OMG well I must be doing *something* wrong ! I'm really pleased you guys are managing to lose lbs without going thru the hungries! I do track, I do eat mini meals all day (don't have large meals, don't like them) , eat loads of veggies, only wholegrains; 40+ g of protein a day; my only naughty stuff is a couple of square…
  • Hi; I'm new here also as of 2 days ago. What an amazing site :o)))) Good luck all ;)
