Congratulations--You look terrific!

^^^ this. A lot of beginning runners make the mistake of trying to run too fast. Slow it wayyyyyy down. Speed will come naturally once you've gotten more used to the mechanism of running

I mix it w/ fat free ricotta cheese. It's like really thick peanut butter pudding.

Agnostic. I'm not smart enough to have the answers and not ambitious enough to try. I don't worry about it much until somebody really gets in my face about it. That said, I think religion in general causes a lot more problems than it solves.

I wear them and love them but everyone is different. I have a very narrow heel and wide forefoot and these shoes fit like a dream. I also have a neutral stride so I'm not looking for any kind of pronation correction--just good cushioning. Your best bet is to go to a store that can let you try them out & run on a treadmill…

Hi mmk137--One of my favorite races ever was the Canberra Marathon. But unfortunately you're right--it's a little off my radar for this year.

ewww. My least favorite veggie. Hate the color, hate the taste.

^^^ This one. I've been using it for years. Lots of cool tools. Keeps track of everything.

Love it. No tolerance for people saying they are too old to get fit!!

Start out conservatively. You won't want to--but it's important to hold back. If you're well trained--and it sounds like you are--you can put on the gas for the 2nd half. I have found MacMIllan predictor pretty accurate. But If you're feeling good and the running gods are on your side, you might be able to blow away 2:14.…

Yum. Saving for later.

Fantastic. Huge difference--you should be really proud.

If you're still not losing you might want to try increasing the SPF. And be sure to eat back your sunscreen calories. Counter-intuitive--I know.

Thanks. So much what I wanted to say.

French/Jewish one side French/Gentile the other side. Both sides happy to be in America.

Great job. You look absolutely amazing~

Definitely go for it. Unless he lives with his mother. Then it's "Psycho" creepy.

Cryptograms. No idea why but I can solve even really hard ones. Useless skill except in the CIA I guess.

I live in the middle of NYC and wouldn't dream of carrying a gun. Thankfully it is really really really hard to get a concealed carry permit here. Too many people, not enough space for bullets to fly benignly.

^^^^ this exactly. Just ate one with brocolli, tomatoes, basil and hot chili oil. Mmmmm

I started running as a way to keep in shape for cycling over the winter. I would run on a treadmill when the weather got too dicey to take my bike on the road. I never loved running until I started running outdoors. Now I consider running my "first" sport and I will only run on a treadmill if there is absolutely no way to…

Max HR varies a lot from person to person. The formulas are only a very basic starting point. You may vary 10 or more beats from what is predicted for your age (my actual max is probably 13-14 beats more than predicted). You might want to use the predicted max as a starting point then observe your actual level of perceived…

I love cauliflower with red wine vinegar. If that doesn't work you could try it sprinkled with a little garlic and parmesan cheese.

This is one of the reasons I love MFP--people like you inspire me to do my best. Thanks for sharing your story & I love your vacation pics!!

My parents both had osteoporosis so I track calcium. And I have had problems in the past with low potassium blood levels so I track that as well. Other than those...I go with the standard carb/fat/protein

No kids here either but I'm 50+ and working hard to find the "me" that I once had. Sending friend request.

Congratulations on moving up a level. :-) Running shoes are really personal and what works for me in terms of support etc might not work for you. But since I also have wide-ish flat-ish feet I can tell you what fits me well & that is Saucony's. The saucony womens' shoes tend to have a narrow heel and wide forefoot and that…

You look fabulous. What a difference and what an inspiration!

Nice for recognizing a huge jump forward when you get one! NSVs don't have to be about virtue! Congrats on conquering a demon!
