You've made a huge leap! Congratulations. And yes you can!

Bump. I so need this.

I had a couple of sensors & found them inaccurate. Sometimes they would just stop transmitting in the middle of a run. Or if you stop for a couple of minutes (water break or whatever) then thing could blink off and I wouldn't realize it. Really too much of a hassle for something that didn't give accurate results. As others…

That's great! Keep us posted on your progress. You did the hardest part--the first step. It really does get easier!

Perfect!! I especially laughed at #33. Totally get that!

I agree with melanie ^^^ . Don't eat before when you are running shorter distances--it will just divert energy away from where you need it and may cause GI issues. Find what is comfortable for you as far as "when". I have friends that run first thing in the morning and swear by it. But early evening works for me. Don't be…

hell no. Guilt is for wusses.

Like everybody else sez--do it now. Set up your account. Log your food. Get started. Tomorrow you'll already have a day behind you. Feel free to add me. I'm older than you but I don't feel old or fat. Because I didn't wait 'til Monday!

Your dinner looks fantastic. Good choice! I was going to suggest an omelette with a bunch of veggies but you did great without my advice. Imagine that!
-
Congratulations--I hope this is the start of an amazing running adventure for you! Savor every victory mile as another victory.

Club soda is NOT water.

Definitely see the difference. Your face is less round--more "sculpted" now. Congratulations on the good work! (You're gorgeous in both pics though!)

You're an inspiration. Thanks for posting and congratulations!

Shoes all fit differently so it's important to try a bunch before you find something that works for your foot shape. If you go to a running store they should let you run on a treadmill so you know how they feel with your stride. Even better is a run around the block. Don't get too hung up on the bells and whistles. Find…

Big difference. Nice job!

Don't ever eat bok choy the night before a race. Everyone around you will hate you and you'll probably end up in witness protection.

You look great! And I love the new hair!!
-
Barely recognize you--what a difference. Congratulations!

I switch off between Brooks Trance and Saucony Ride and wear the same size in both. And that's a half size bigger than my street shoes if that helps any. But really, why not try them on and run a bit before you commit. Running shoes are too expensive to get the wrong thing...

I've been running forever but I'm building up my mileage again after some injuries kept me off the roads. I'm always looking for new running pals to motivate and help motivate me. I'll send a F/R

I can't really give you any help since I grapple with this too. I have had great results losing weight by eating "fairly low carb" over the past few months. But as my runs and rides get longer I find that I seem to need to trade off weight management with fuel management. I'm still experimenting but I suspect that optimal…

Got it. Thanks!!

^^^this. My take-away was I really really need to learn something about lifting weights because that was a foreign language.

I love this post. You look great!

When compared to my HRM, MFP awards me way more calories for cycling and running (like 30% more) but about the same for walking and activities in the lower ranges of HR. So although the MFP calories appear on my food diary, I almost never eat all of them--just mentally figure on eating back the number that my HRM gives me.

You are my hero!!! That's outstanding.

Justins maple almond butter. To. Die. For.

San-J Szechuan sauce. I eat it on everything that doesn't have chilis in it already. Too bad about the sodium though :(

You look terrific. I love reading stories like this

What a great post! I so agree with you--life is so much better when you're in the middle of it and not sitting on the sidelines. And you look fantastic BTW.
