  • Yes, search breastfeeding under foods and add 500 calories a day if your baby is exclusively BF and not on solids, and 300 calories if they are not nursed as often and get solids (my DD is 8 ½ months old and this is what I do.) Definitely start eating more, you don’t want to be shaking or worse, affecting your milk supply…
  • I am looking for some healthy snacky stuff we can make for it. I do a low fat taco dip but I am kinda sick of making it. Anyone have some good ideas? I am most looking forward to the Black Eyed Peas at halftime! :)
  • I agree with what the others said.. I hated yoga at first because I felt pathetic doing it, could not hold a lot of moves, got frustrated, etc. Now I don’t mind it all and although the moves are still challenging, I can do most of them and feel empowered after I have finished. And I still cannot do half moon without…
  • Thanks! I have heard that about P90X, too. When I first did it, I did not lose any weight and got discouraged and quit after 9 weeks, but this time I had a better attitude about it. It is not meant to be a weight loss program, but so many lose weight as a result of it, too. I did the classic. I had lost a lot of the baby…
  • I have lost about 10lbs since starting P90X.. from 160 to 150.. I have definitely toned up everywhere, my legs are more defined and stronger, I can even see some ab definition! I do have more body fat to lose, particularly in the belly area, the babies did a job on me there! I think my muscles would show even more. I am…
  • Is he/she getting any solids? If you are exclusively BF, I would give yourself 500 calories, that is what I did, then when she started eating more solids and less BM, I cut it to 300 calories a day. You can search it under foods to log it.
  • I have 3 days left of my first round of P90X, when I started in Nov, I would run 3-4 miles, 1-2 times a week, on days that P90X was not as strenuous of a workout (yoga/ arms and shoulders.) Since I returned back to work from being on maternity leave, I am lucky to run once on the weekends, but I power walk for 1/2hr on my…
  • I love low fat chive and onion cottage cheese and I eat it with garlic melba toast. Yum!
  • I am on day 68 of P90X, love it! I have done it twice before but never finished it, but this time is different! I hope to do Insanity next, I love cardio so I hope I love Insanity, too! Question, does Insanity have any strength training? I have not done much research on it yet, just heard about it through P90X.…
  • I don’t think it is on there. I think the calories burned could differ so much, based on different body types and the level of intensity that you “bring it.” :) I would definitely invest in a heart rate monitor, so you know a more accurate number of calories you are burning and can log it.
  • Allison- I would definitely give yourself 500 extra calories if you are still exclusively BF and your baby is that young. I would make sure you drink a lot of water, too, that always helped with my production. It really doesn't even seem like you are "dieting" when you BF and try to lose weight because you burn those extra…
  • Hi! I started here when my baby was 3 months old, and I gave myself an additional 500 calories a day. You can search it under foods and add it to your diary. MFP gave me 1200 calories a day. I also ate most of my exercise calories, too. So really I never felt like I was dieting, I ate a lot (still do!) and the weight came…
  • I disagree, I think you can lose weight while exclusively nursing, it just is not safe for you to do it “fast” and restrict your calories. I started here when my DD was about 3 months old and I added 500 calories a day to my daily calories and I lost an average of about 1lb a week and still was able to eat healthy (and…
  • Great job!! What a difference in your belly! WTG!!
  • I try to weigh myself in the morning, after I nurse my daughter, and I make sure to go to the bathroom before, too. I try to stay as consistent as possible in what I do on WI day. I know it is silly and probably doesn’t make much of a difference, but that’s my ritual! You will definitely see fluctuations at different times…
  • Awesome results, congrats!
  • Congrats! That *is* a huge victory, in a short amount of time, too! Yay for breastfeeding! :)
  • Hi! Thursday, I subbed plyo for stretching, I really wanted to go running but I had the two kids and had to do something before going to Thanksgiving dinner. I felt better, having the extra calories. Core was yesterday, it went well, considering I have a pretty bad cold. Today is yoga, I am tempted to go running instead of…
  • I am not sure of the science behind it, but I think that's awesome! Good to know, because I am in a similar situation, doing P90X and less running, and afraid of losing my endurance. I would say it's because your body is in overall better shape, using all muscles and becoming fitter, not just those used when running.…
  • Thanks for the suggestions, it definitely could have been not enough water, in retrospect, I realized earlier in the day I was so busy and did not drink enough. I have to be better about the water, I am going back to work next week and I always drink more than enough there, so that's one good thing about going back!…
  • Core Synergistics done today. At the end of the workout, I started to get a killer headache. I have been getting them here and there after working out, not sure what's going on. Any ideas? It was a good workout, though, different.
  • Thanks everyone for the input, I am definitely going to keep going, I do feel better and that should count more than a # on the scale. I also just pulled out some pre-pregnancy jeans that I hadn't even been able to get up over my legs a few months ago and most of them fit, buttoned up nicely! So there's more to it than…
  • I have the same problem! I feel like I am not warmed up enough to do them well, I feel like it's a hard one to start off with. I have improved a little bit every time, though, so hopefully one day I'll be able to do them without stopping. Kenpo today, and I am not feeling very well, I think I caught a cold from my son. I…
  • I am three weeks into it, my second time doing it, and I am loving it so far. I am a cardio queen, so doing it forces me to focus more on strength training. The scale has not really moved yet, but I am trying not to get discouraged by that, because I can feel tighter and stronger and my measurements are down a bit, too. It…
  • See above where it says signature, click on that and copy and paste it there. Also, not sure which one you used but the one I used, you have to go to the website daily to change the number, I thought it would do it automatically but it doesn't. HTH!
  • I have not been following their nutrition guide, but logging my food here on MFP. My husband and I both feel like we have been hungrier since starting p90x. I sometimes wonder if that is why I never lose much weight doing p90x, because I end up eating more. The scale has not budged, but I feel tighter in my mid-section,…
  • I do, as long as it is safe, not too icy or snowy.
  • Welcome! I hear ya, I am sore in bizarre places, too! It's a good feeling though! :)
  • If you are looking to lose weight, I would stay at those calories and eat all the calories you burn from doing p90x. I usually don't eat all my exercise calories, but I am breastfeeding so I already get an additional 500 calories, so some days, it is hard to eat that on top of exercise calories.. when I stop, though, I…
