  • Hi Jen, I'm Susan... Mine haven't either, but... keep tracking it as I have seen changes in lean mass and fat mass. And keep in mind that as you burn fat off, the muscles become more evident and you will be fitter and feel better. This journey we are on has so many different facets - weights and inches are just a small…
  • Have you heard about Heybales' spreadsheet? You can plug in your measurements, etc... to get a more personalized idea of how much to eat. It is a google spreadsheet that you can copy into your own google or download it in excel format. He has a link to it on his MFP page. He created the spreadsheet to pull together several…
  • I just started 3 weeks ago so not a lot of change yet except - the chicken wings now tighten up when I flex my biceps. Gotta find encouragement where you can LOL.

  • Store the spreadsheet in Google Cloud or or some other cyber storage and then add your data from your phone if you have a smart phone?
  • Jazoo - Personal message your email addy and i'd be glad to send them to you.
  • Another lurker here - I started a couple of weeks ago. You can access some progress sheets at werkit.com. Here is another link for log sheets: http://www.thenewrulesoflifting.com/training-logs I made my own cheat sheet with pics of the exercises that I then put in protector sheets so I wouldn't have to tote the book to the…
  • Under the old points system with 1 point equalling 50 calories, the rule of thumb was 100 exercise calories equalled 1 activity point. If I'm thinking right (and that is questionable sometimes LOL), if you ate your activity points, then it would be like eating back half of your exerise calories (burn 100, eat 50). Under…
  • What format did you download as? google or excel or? On my current version (and I think it was on previous versions too) there is a comment on the simple set up page: *** To change the values, you must go to the spreadsheet File - Make a copy *** *** Or spreadsheet File - Download as Excel, to change the values ***…
  • I did submit a suggestion that they include the ability to add BF % to aid in getting an accurate TDEE. I was thanked for the suggestion, for all that it is worth... LOL
  • Check out this thread: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/1129738-heybales-another-ss-question-fitbit-ht-adjustment I have dropped my height to get FB's calculation of BMR to be closer to Katch. I did not change my stride as I want an accurate calculation of distance. At one time I was adjusting my age and had to be…
  • Thanks for the explanation. Yes, my the SS has calculated Mifflin as 1301, Katch as 1340 and Cunningham as 1488. Playing at Scooby shows the adjustment to 68". I messed around a bit more and found if I adjust my height up to 63.3", the Mifflin BMR will equal 1340. I've had some decent results believing my BMR to be 1340…
  • So this week I will try eating TDEG with one day at TDEE. Hormones are already screwed up due to menopause, but why mess them up any more LOL Good news is while I'm not dropping pounds, I am dropping inches, FM and BF%. My BMR continues to increase as does my LBM. Since starting Curves in July, I have lost .6 pounds but…
  • Yes, thanks, I did. And unhid the future you tab :) Question - simple setup tab states that "If the TDEG currently is close to your BMR because you have a lot to lose and/or are doing lifting rather than high cardio, suggest you take 1 day every week and eat at TDEE. Make it a lifting day for max benefit, at least a…
  • Thanks for the input. I've added that and have used other unused cells for other information, HR tidbits, and so on. Thanks for all the work you've done on the spreadsheet and the advice you give!
  • Heybales - I love the spreadsheet and how it brings all sorts of data into one place. Quick question - in the newest version, the "Future You" tab is gone? And while I'm thinking about it - I have been including my "Curves" workouts as medium cardio on the simple set up tab. To me it has more exertion than "low cardio."
  • Yeah - don't log the exercise if you have already calculated it into your activity level/TDEE.
  • You might post the question in the Fitbit Users group - I just quickly scanned some of the posts there and some comments were about under and over estimating steps depending on arm/hand use and movements. Also, are you logging exercise both on MFP and FB websites and do you have the two accounts linked? If you log on both…
  • Try this: http://www.easycalculation.com/health/weight-watchers-points-plus.php
  • Very Low Calorie Diet. Typically any diet that has you eating below your BMR.
  • I *think* heybales' new estimate formula would give you a personal multiplier of 1.53. So if your BMR is 1400, then your estimated TDEE would be 2142. (1 hour lifting plus half of your walking time is 3.75. Multiply 3.75 by .0875 and then add 1.2). I tried this out with an estimate of my activities and it came out pretty…
  • I was using a generic Kroger brand menopausal supplement that had the Black Cohosh then the DH picked up One A Day menopausal vitamin mix that didn't. I am taking a Cohosh pill with this and my night sweats have been eliminated for the past 3-4 months. I bow to whoever mentioned the Cohosh - the night sweats were terribly…
  • Wooohooo! Keep it up!
  • The complaint about the last few pounds makes one consider setting the weight loss goal 10-15 pounds more than what is really wanted.... LOL For those that are close - hang in there and don't give up!
  • [ Not sure if a BMR of 1152 is right - it isn't what the calculators would say - female, 5'1", 163#, 51 years old - I have manipulated the fitbit to show I am 100+ years old because I think my metabolism is suppressed so I"m playing with that function - trying to not get an inflated TDEE. Right now I'm upping my calorie…
  • Heybales - here is a screen shot of part of my Fitbit dashboard which shows the calorie burn throught the day. You can see it in 5 minute blocks:
  • "Once done, if valid I'm now wondering, I'll put in normal spreadsheet and link. So that is great info for FitBit, so the idea should work for it then, is the stride length given a default setting based on height? Like, did you have to set it up, or just accepted value given?" It has a default but I'm not sure if it is…
  • In the personal settings area, we do have an area to input our stride length for both walking and running so Fitbit can tell how many miles. I do have a question - is there anyway to import our previous entries into the new version of your spreadsheet?
  • yeah, loss of interest can be an issue - then add in the male side of aging......................... sigh
