Thank you so much for your reply! Two questions. Fist) what is HIIT? and why is it better than cardio? I do a lot of Zumba because its' really the only cardio I like (minus kick boxing) 2.) If I can't do heavy weight training what would you suggest? I had a huge part of my L5 disk removed and the remaining section of it…

^ Ditto! Just do some toning and you'll be fine. You might actually gain a couple lbs from muscle but you'll look smaller/toned

ME TOO! It frustrates me when someone says that. I know when I'm hungry and when I'm thirsty. Plus if you drink all that water and then eat because you are hungry it slows down the break down of the food. NO GRACIAS!

Most drinks like juice, soda, lemonade etc, are pretty much wasted calories. If you are trying to stay low calories stick with water or add real fruit to your water. I try to stay away from artificial sweeteners but if aren't you can try crystal light etc for all the flavor without the calories. I am still trying to make a…

That looks like so much fun! I do Zumba now and was getting bored. Might have to try this!

I haven't heard of it? What is it?
-
I haven't used one but someone near my neighborhood uses it. I see him out there a lot (on the main road) so I'm guessing he loves it :D
-
Yes! Breathing outside is a lot different! Especially now when it's cold. My lungs are like frozen haha
-
if you want to run on the tread mill but have it be more like outside keep the elevation at like 2 or 3. Most treadmills 0 or "flat" is more like running down hill.

I gots a bad back so I only do, I guess "girly squats" with no weights. I'm trying to not get paralyzed at 26 :P

I bought my Polar used and I love it. No problem here so far :) But if you don't want to get that one my hubby had a garmin HRM/GPS that he really liked. His in a older version though EDIT: I have the T4

Hey! I'm 26 a young mom (had my first one at 21) and I have two boys!

What weight are you starting out at because 8 is really high. And are you sure you are getting the amount of calories you think you are? If you aren't on your feet a lot and you've lost that much weight thatt might be concerning. If that is the case you're more than likely to gain back the weight just as quickly. But if…

I have been tested for Celiacs but I don't have it. But I think I might have a sensitivity. My only worry about going completely gluten free is it's pretty much a life long thing because when you stop it and you start up again it will make you sick. So if you are really sure you want to do completely gluten free go for it,…

Thanks! I am just starting to like fish, right now I like talapia, tuna and salmon. I need to branch out a bit not that I got over the initial fish taste :P

I feel the same. When I moved to where I am now I was only knows as "so/so mom, daughterinlaw or wife" that was it. No one knew me because my DH and his family are from here. It's hard. I was in nursing school and began to become "Shannon" again but then I injured my back and had to leave and now I am back in the SAHM…

I just use moderation. I can't give up Ice Cream. I love it. But I eat less and now I buy natural ingredients versus all the artificial stuff. Not only am I an ice cream addict, now I'm an ice cream snob! lol

I think the original post had more scare tactics and opinion versus the real facts of why the vegan life. I personally love animal meat, we are animals and we eat meat. I also love it medium raw.. sometimes I like to know my food had a heart beat. But since watching Food Inc I do go for more humanely and organic meats.

I agree with the all of the above. Diet should be a life time of what you decide to eat. Dieting is while trying to lose weight. It's easier to change your diet than it is to be dieting, especially if you are prone to doing the Fad Diets. To original poster. I am with you. I work out all the time, but i really need work on…

I started it when I was 175. I got injured with a fractured foot from it. I also had disk surgery but it might not been because of that. I think it's possible for anyone to start it and finish it. I would just caution and really listen to your body and make sure to always have your core engaged especially during the…

You know what they mean so why start a thread just to be an *kitten*? Oh the internet.. making people feel tough for years

Thanks I will try this. I can only do so many weight exercises because of my back. Which sucks because whenI lost my initial 30lbs I was doing a lot of resistance training. But my back isn't strong enough for that now :/
-
Thanks everyone. My exercise is limited because I had surgery on my back and so I can't lift to much and certain moves I can't do and high impact is a no, no. I lost 30 lbs last year and I was doing kick boxing, I tried insanity but fractured my foot, couch25K program and weight lifting, also my favorite Zumba. But now I…

Hey! I just wanted to let you know. I am in nursing school and we had our nutrition part last semester. You can lose a bunch of weight quickly of course if you aren't eating the amount of calories your body needs to do your everyday activities such as breathing and sleeping. This is your BMR, you should NEVER go below your…
