Canuname - The Amiigo looks really cool. I think the HRM works when you swim with the Loop and HR7. I should swim soon and I will let you know for sure. I have the Loop and posted previously about it in this forum. Right now, it really isn't working for me. It has potential, but every time I plug it into the website, it…

I got the Polar Loop on Friday because of the HRM function and the fact that it is waterproof. I have used a Fitbit Ultra, BodyMedia, and BodyBugg for daily 24/7 tracking and a Polar RCX5 HRM for workouts. My biggest issue with the Fitbit Ultra is that it recorded a lot of activity while I drove. Although it could be…

I know how you feel. I feel the same, really. I HAVE to host and daily I think how much I just want to get out of it. Ugh, the cleaning, the shopping, the cooking...it's just too much. I don't know why I'm unsentimental and don't really cherish these moments. But I will tell you what I keep saying to myself... Suck it up.…

You really can't do that much damage in 4 days, especially if you are making some steps to control your intake. You may find the scale jump up when you return, but from my experience it will just be increased water weight from changing your eating habits. Don't freak out, get back on plan and it should disappear in about 5…

Bump. and thank you!

So awesome!

I am in a completely different situation than you starting at 365 pounds. But, I started with just one rule and that was to log everything as accurately as possible. If I ate bad or not, exercised or not, I logged. Just one rule, to make me face my decisions, good or bad. I found the "if every day were like this" diary…

Learning to deal with the scale might be the hardest part of weight loss. The ups and downs that don't match our efforts can be very frustrating and depressing. But if you stay focused and on plan, it will work out. Stay strong!

I am sending you a friend request. I'm 5'4", 243 lbs. Also, hoping to lose a hundred more.

Consecutive high intensity exercise days will cause my heart rate to be higher doing the same activity than a workout session after a rest day.

18 months in, 120 pounds lost and I still struggles with late night munchies. What usually works for me is going to the gym instead of watching TV. If I need a break from the gym, I try to pamper myself a bit...hot bubble bath, pedicure/manicure and facial. It is also harder to eat playing video games, then watching TV.…

This is my target cheat day. I'm just hoping, I can make it until then on 25 net carbs/day. I keep telling myself...just make it to Thanksgiving. I'm only a couple weeks into this. Maybe by then, I'll feel that keto high and won't want to blow it, but I doubt it. Either way, I don't plan to go all out crazy.

Now, I want pancakes. Seriously, thanks for sharing.

I can't say it better than this. You can do this with or without his support. Stick with it and prove him wrong. Best wishes.

Bump.

I just tried them for the first time last night. I think they are perfect to satisfy crunch cravings. Although they were good, they left my mouth kind of dry or they were dry (IDK), it seems this might keep me from overeating them.

Just curious, what makes you think it would hinder your loss. It is high calorie, so it is important to measure and log, but I've always heard that the protein/calcium combination in dairy has a positive impact on weight loss and I just saw some BBC documentary that said you don't really absorb all the fat from dairy, it…

I am the same way. I'm fine all day at work. Sometimes I'm thankful I work long days and have a long commute. As soon as I get home and sit down, I think I'm hungry, but it is really boredom. It doesn't seem to matter how much I eat during the day. The weekends can be the same too. What I have learned is that I have to…

I am 5'4", started at 365 pounds. For weight loss, diet is more important than exercise, IMO. If weight loss is his primary objective, his workouts don't have to be that intense. Walking is awesome. Also, it may not be best for him to try to keep up with you. I recommend that he wear a heart rate monitor and do a little…

Hi! I joined MFP and started becoming healthier on 02/13/12. I lost about 100 pounds in 2012. Simply eating less and moving more. But, that pretty much stopped working in 2013. Desperate, I went to my Doctor who referred me to a weight management group within the health system, Henry Ford. They put me on a 650 calorie…

I am looking for keto friends too, please add me.

I like the basic principals of WW (at least when I went)... extra virgin olive oil, fruits and veggies, low fat dairy and protein. I think it is better to use the money on a gym membership. MFP gives you a free source of information, logging and support. Good luck to you however you decide to get healthier.

For potassium, by calorie, my favs are Roma tomatoes, yellow bell peppers and low fat cottage cheese. You are probably getting more potassium than you know since it isn't always listed. Best wishes in finding a healthy balance.

In my experience, the Fitbit records some steps while cycling or spinning, but still understates calorie burn. My Polar RCX5 HRM generally has about twice the calorie burn as my Fitbit.

I was just thinking that I've had a pint of ice cream in the freezer since Saturday. I was actually proud of myself for seeing it there and walking away.

Nice!

Bump.

I too am looking for new friends now. I've been on MFP regularly since February 2012. I still have 80 to 100 pounds to lose and things have been moving quite slowly for the past six months.

It's easier said than done, but let it go. I too obsess over random little situations. They may have been uncomfortable, but I seriously doubt they would file an harassment claim or do anything about it. And they probably aren't even giving it a second thought. I am typically uncomfortable about people touching me, but I…

I will send you a friend request. I started at 364 on 02/13/12 and am regularly on the MFP site. It is a great tool. Welcome!
