  • Has Dr. Oz ever even been overweight? I wonder what he'd do if the fat fairy visited him some night and he woke up 100 lbs. over. :)
  • I never see anyone list any country songs on these lists, but that's what I mostly listen to (maybe because I'm so old! Lol.) I just love The JaneDear Girls. Their songs "Wildflower", "Shotgun Girl", "Free Ride", and "Sugar" get me moving. I can't sit still when I listen to them, and I always kick my pace up a notch when…
  • There are groups specifically geared toward that. I'm in one called: Goal -100 lbs in 2012!!!! I think I found it by searching for 100 lbs. It's nice to set monthly goals and check in with folks who have the same goals as you do.
  • I couldn't agree more! I told my sister yesterday that I'm trying to get down to where I did 7 years ago (when I lost 83 lbs and weighed 180) and she told me 20 lbs or so would fine, but that I shouldn't get "gaunt" like I was before because I "looked like death warmed over". I'm 5' 7", 180 is not gaunt, and I was wearing…
  • February Progress: February 1: 277.6 February 8: 272.6 February 15: 271.0 CW (Feb.17): 270.6 Total February loss so far: 7 lbs. February inches lost: 5.50"
  • You look wonderful! Congratulations on a job well done!
  • I just started MFP and only have 2 friends so far. Friend me if you want. My goal is 100 lbs. So far I've lost 10.
  • I've tried working out with friends before and it seems like I always end up waiting for them to show up so we can walk, or waiting for them to be ready to go to the gym, or wanting to head home when I'm just getting started, or. . . You get the idea. It's great to have a workout buddy, but sometimes it works better if…
  • I'm down 6 lbs. for February so far. I should be on track for 10 lbs. this month. I've lost 8.5" so far this month too. Yay!
  • I lost 70 lbs. and 75" overall in 2004 with walking and working out with 5 lb. dumbbells, as well as calorie reduction. The dumbbells gave me great definition on my arms, shoulders and back, and walking 3-5 miles per day took care of the rest.
  • I too, have suffered from severe, chronic depression since I was a child. Good for you for opening up about it and asking for support. I didn't do that until I was in my early 40s. You definitely are not alone. Exercise doesn't always make me feel any better, but it doesn't make me feel any worse so even when I'm in the…
  • Definitely working out. I have never gotten to a point where I enjoy it. I lost 83 lbs. in 2004-5 and I worked out almost every single day. I never reached a point where I looked forward to it, enjoyed it, or missed it if I skipped a day. It's just one of those things I have to make sure I do. I don't like putting on…
  • I'm addicted to my scale, so I weigh myself every morning before I eat or drink anything. I record my morning weight in a spreadsheet and have a graph linked to it so I can track my progress. We all know our weight fluctuates daily, and the graph helps remind me that my weight is dropping. I've only been on here a few…
  • It helps to keep healthy snacks on hand, especially crunchy ones. Raw carrots aren't chips, but at least they're something. Lol. If you've lost 22 lbs. in 6 weeks you're definitely doing something right, even if you are going over your calorie budget on the weekends.
  • Whatever you're doing, it's working for you! Great job!
  • That's a really impressive weight loss. Whatever you're doing, it's working!
  • If you're building muscle it can take awhile for the scale to move. I only lost 2.5 lbs. the first five weeks, but I lost 17.75 inches.
  • I'm 50 and just started today. Friend me if you would like.
  • I just joined today and my goal is 10 lbs. in February. I started January 1 at 280 lbs. I lost 2.5 in January, and 17.75". So far in February I've lost another 5.5 and 2.25" more. It's great to join up with others who are trying to lose 100 lbs. this year.
  • I'm new too. Today is my first day on here. I'm trying to lose 100 lbs., so if anyone wants to add me, feel free to do so. :)
