  • I received a Fitbit for Christmas. Where do I find my user code?
  • You are looking great! I did not realize how many sizes I would lose with my weight loss. Congratulations on what you have done so far. Keep up the good work. :drinker:
  • I have eliminated nothing from my foods that I eat. I have simply started counting all of it and cutting back on the 'empty calorie' foods drastically. I have increased the more nutritious items and added in exercise and I continue to lose weight. Slowly but steadily. When I reach my goal weight, because I have continued…
  • I agree that your note would make a great magazine article.
  • I ate salads and chicken or fish. I shared desserts with my husband and often when we went out we shared a meal. If I drank soda it was diet. I never put dressing on my salads, I used just vinegar or lemon juice and or pico de gallo. I did not use mayo on sandwiches, I ate very little red meat. I experienced guilt when I…
  • No matter what else I put in my oatmeal, I ALWAYS add cinnamon BEFORE I cook it. Other things add before cooking: Raisins, cranberries, apples Things I add after cooking: Splenda, honey, sorghum, peaches, blueberries, chunky peanut butter (this one with some Splenda makes it taste like cookie dough) Something I NEVER add…
  • I am 65. I started at 214. Good luck on your journey. Slow and steady is my motto. I took a while to pack it on and I am slowly taking it off. Sending a friend request.
  • I have also done the fork dipping and find it EXTREMELY satisfying - especially with creamy dressings.
  • I love salsa, pico de gallo mixed with fresh lemon, straight rice vinegar, straight balsamic vinegar (the flavored ones are interesting), or just 1-2 TEASPOONS of regular dressings thoroughly mixed into the salad. Mixing my own vinagrette with vinegar and EVOO (more vinegar, less oil) and spices is always nice too. I…
  • I ate there this morning. Could not find much nutrition information online but did some searching for similar items. Had 1/2 a pecan waffle (my husband and I like to share stuff) with 1/2 package of their buttery spread and 2 Tablespoons of syrup plus one piece of bacon and a cup of coffee. I calculated 308 calories. They…
  • Warm Sun City, AZ/USA - Supposed to reach 112 F today. Glad my new AC is working. :glasses:
  • I am thinking about getting a HRM and find these comments very helpful. Thanks everyone. :drinker:
  • I have used straight rice vinegar or balsamic vinegar or (in a pinch) plain red wine vinegar mixed with salt and pepper and I love it. Understand that I love tart or sour things. I have also used fresh salsa or pico de gallo as a dressing - basically it is just part of the salad. - again there is that tart flavor. If I am…
  • This is on a par with "I didn't realise McDonalds could be a contributing factor to weight gain". I don't understand entitlement/pass the blame/they made me do it culture. Or suing McDonalds because the coffee is HOT! DUH!!!! BTW, I also bought the Sketchers and LOVE them and I do walk more wearing them and I have lost…
  • Wow! Looking good! Congratulations on the weight loss AND figuring out how to post the pictures. :drinker:
  • Welcome aboard and WOW your weight loss is amazing so far!:drinker:
  • My doctor and my trainer BOTH say walking is as good as jogging and much easier on the knees, therefore I WALK alternating fast/slow/fast. Keep up the good work. :drinker: " I also agree with Jennyisbusy about swimming and dancing. I was in a dance class for a short time that was designed for seniors and if someone was…
  • Looking good kiddo!:drinker:
  • Hello everyone from warm Arizona. I am 65 so definitely qualify as 50+. Enjoy reading about your successes and trials and concerns. I pray for you when you add a concern. I do not have the time to respond to each post, but wanted to let you know you are encouraging me in my journey and I hope as you read these posts you…
  • My trainer said NEVER work out on an empty stomach and have almonds or a protein bar available to snack during a long intense workout. And don't forget to drink water.
  • You look great! Keep up the good work. I hit 9.8 pounds today. I can feel it when I get dressed. I can hardly wait to reach 65 down....I will almost be at my goal. :drinker:
  • Always get the same thing....6 inch Veggie Delite on 9-grain wheat with provolone cheese, spinach, lettuce tomato, pickles, banana peppers, extra banana peppers (sometimes they are stingy) and vinegar. Yummmmmmmm - Subway -

  • Yep, sure do. And I don't belong to one with all the stuff provided. I haul my stuff in every time. I work out for an hour or more on the floor and sweat a LOT short shower and then I swim for about 20 minutes. I won't put my sweaty gym clothes back on and I want to get the chlorine off my skin and hair SOOOOO I shower,…
  • This is funny. I had only one friend, my niece. Then she put out a plea for people to friend me. They did and now I am having trouble keeping up with posts. Hang in there. Lots of times we read and we are encouraged by your post. Read other people's posts and be encouraged by them too.
  • I have RLS and the doctor told me before he will prescribe any meds he wants me to try drinking about 6 ounces of tonic water in the evening. So far it works for me (the quinine is what works) so I don't have to get medication. If my legs are cramping I take a spoonful of yellow mustard and it almost immediately alleviates…
  • When I was younger, I did not like it any of these ways but now..... Ways I have eaten cottage cheese: (I prefer the non-fat variety, but will eat the others) Plain With avocado and tomatoes for a tasty lunch With fruit - especially pineapple (my husband prefers peaches or mandarin oranges) With salt/pepper on saltine…
  • Thank you for doing this. What does bump mean? I am 65 and was mostly sedentary until I decided to get serious about losing weight and getting into shape. My doctor said to start slow so I connected with a personal trainer for three sessions (two done already) to set up a reasonable routine from which to grow. I have lost…
  • My first day I was almost to my goal HR just walking up the stairs to get to the gym area. Two minutes on the zero level treadmill at 2.0 speed and I was there. Today it took 8 minutes, level 1.5, 2.5 speed to get there. Hurray!
  • Doctor told me to start slowly so I do not do much cardio work other than swimming, but I am kicking it working on strength building.:drinker:
  • Instead of buying Girl Scout cookies, I made a donation to them. I have gone to the gym 7 of the last 9 days. I am sticking to my food plan. I have lost almost 6 pounds. Yay ME!:flowerforyou:
