I used to be able to put anything in my body first thing in the morning. Now after a 60+ pound loss, I can't. I have to be careful about what I eat first thing: starch and protein only. Coffee and vitamins now have to wait until mid-morning. So, yeah, I agree with everyone else: stop drinking tea on an empty stomach. And…

I'm so sorry for your loss, but how beautiful is it that she got to go held by one who loved her!

Smokey and Dexter, enjoying some peanut butter. Smokey looking disdainful. Dexter attempting a pull-up.

Feel free to add me, I've been around awhile. I do something sort of different, though... I eat at Total Daily Energy Expenditure minus 20%, so I eat 1900 calories every day (I work out a lot) and don't count my exercise calories.

I don't log gum, spices, herbs, (non-honey) mustard, a splash of vinegar, a squeeze of lemon, a slice of lettuce... or vitamins/medicines. I don't log one stolen french fry or taste of another's food (unless it's like, straight cheese or something. Then I might quick add some calories.). I have had disordered eating the…

You look great, too, Pastorwilson!

If you're a carb eater, don't stop eating them! I eat TONS of carbs and it hasn't stopped me losing weight. I just try to eat healthy ones now: whole grain bread/pasta, quinoa, barley, rice, rice noodles, and so on. I also have a fluffy piece of white bread covered with cheese and pasta sauce (a Hungarian treat called a…

Incidentally, if any of you large framed ladies would like to, feel free to add!

Today at the gym, I wound up running in front of a mirror and I just kept staring at my collarbones and neck muscles, clearly visible under my moving skin. You can even see 3 or so ribs... not when I'm standing still, yet, but when I'm moving for sure. When I sit on the floor, my bones poke into the floor and it's…

I also log in daily (unless I'm traveling out-of-country, which I do a few days every other month or so). Add me!

Hi! I'm 26, and I started my weight loss a little more than a year ago. These are my stats: Height: 5'8.5" / 174 cm High weight: 260 lb / 118 kg Starting weight: 242 lb / 110 kg Current weight: 187 lb / 85 kg First goal: 163 lb / 74 kg (in the "healthy" range) So I've already lost about 73 pounds, and I still have at least…

Great job!

I can't help you with the redness, but I also am a sweaty kid. Obviously, if you wear dark colors, the sweat is less visible on your clothes. For face/head sweating, I seriously wear an old-school style sweatband/headband at my hairline. At first I was a little shy about it and wore black ones, but then I realized that I…

You can do it! Just do something small each week. One week, focus on water. The next, reduce the sugar in your coffee. The next, go for some walks. Small steps and before you know it, you'll be healthy and on your way. Be patient, too... remember that you didn't gain the weight in a month, and you won't lose it in a month…

I'm here and happy to see you! Feel free to add me, guys. I'm back after Christmas and ready to lose those last 30-40 pounds (I've lost over 60 so far, so I can definitely relate with the large weight-loss goals!)

Hit "Apps" in the top bar. Then "Tickers". Then hit "Update weight data." Finally, enter your revised starting weight, and save your changes. I had to do the same thing when I started!

While my high weight was around 260, I actually started at pretty much exactly 240 pounds. My first goal was to be under 200. Once I achieved that, I readjusted my goal. It's now to be 163 pounds (I'm around 190 now), which is right inside the upper border of the healthy for my height. When I get there, I will see how I…

Being able to do a SINGLE pull up is majorly one of my fitness goals! Great work!

I think the main trick for ANY meat being nice and juicy is to stop cooking it about three minutes before you normally would. Put it on a plate, cover it with a lid, and then let it sit for ten minutes. Don't be tempted to poke at it or cut it to check if it's done. The left-over heat will cook it to the point of preferred…

You look awesome!! I'm about the same right now, after similar loss, and I feel great! You should be proud of your accomplishments, no matter where other people begin!

Welcome and good luck!

Well, weigh it, and then use chaww's link up there. :) Or just search "pork tenderloin lean only raw" and use the entry that comes up. It gives me, for 3 oz, 108 cal, 0 carbs, 18 protein, 0 fiber, 3 fat, 0 calcium. (Those are what I track.)

Haha, I just meant that you have to cook it more than I cook steak, for example. steak cooking method: Place in hot pan. Hum "Yankee Doodle." Flip. Hum again. Eat. :)

Weigh the portions raw. The calorie count for raw meat is the most accurate because the water level is the most standard then. If you cook meat just a little bit, it still has more water, and therefore less calories PER OUNCE than if you cook it until it is quite dry. So three ounces of raw meat could be quite similar,…

Peanut M&Ms... if they sold the big packages here, I would be in trouble! The little 30g ones are fine as an occasional treat. :) Salted kettle chips with french onion dip also comes to mind...

I would try to make the weekend a "wash" where you don't lose, but don't gain either! (After a day or two, you'll probably gain in the short-term from retaining water from the sodium in food and from the alcohol.) Try to plan some active bonding... walking and especially dancing! Eat what you want, but use portion control.…

incredible work!

I started bigger. I'm now smaller than I was, but still bigger than most. I swear to you, nobody ever even looked at me sideways. I personally never notice anyone, fat or thin, at the gym unless (a) I need to cycle in with them on a machine or bar (b) they're gross and don't clean up after themselves (c) they wear way too…

I'm pretty private about my numbers. I think a lot of this comes from my feminist discomfort with the whole "beauty industrial complex." I'm not losing weight to be at a particular number, I'm losing weight to feel good about myself and be healthy again, so this focus on numbers (as useful as they are!) is just stressful…

I'm in! I've stagnated a bit and need a kick in the butt! Just for me, it's going to be the 9kg challenge. :) CW 200.6 lb (91 kg) GW 180.6 lb (82 kg)
