  • Another 1.23 miles reeled off today for a total mileage of 13.21 miles so far for the month.
  • @ tazmac Thought that avi pic was a new look for you. Congratulations and best wishes for you and yours for a long time to come! You have a few things that are a TON more important right now than a single thread, so focus on them! (If you manage to sneak in a peek now and again, all good. But, if you can't manage it -…
  • Swam .99 miles today, walked an additional .98 miles Total miles moved this month: 11.98
  • Not going to be awake in another half hour, if I'm smart, so went a head and took the 1 hr test - 95. Dinner carbs: 50 (net 40), so a wonderful day there. 2 hrs of cardio, some of it on a HIIT pace, so I'll see where I am in the morning. It's been settling around 110 recently, so I'm trying to coax it down into the low…
  • @ etaylor Congratulations on your accumulated mileage! After reading your post I got antsy last night, but couldn't go walk it off. Live in the country, and we have wild cats that are NOT afraid of people. So, I got to store up the excess, and used it today. @ tazmac Sounds like you had a fun, productive holiday! Then went…
  • Finally managed to kick it into gear today! 2.92 miles today (2.54 in the pool, the rest walking) Total of 10.01 miles this month
  • Another swimmer here. Most times, probably because I swim for so long, I wind up going past the hungry stage into what ever it is when you don't remember your hungry until the smell of food hits you in the face. Especially when I put in one of my "marathon" swims - 1600 m split into 400 m medleys followed by 800 m in each…
  • Another welcome from an absolute apprentice when it comes to learning about how to make this monster lay down and behave. Since others have covered the food side, I'll point out a few discussions on the exercise. You may have to wade through a few pages, but on the "2 hour post dinner" thread, there is an…
  • I'm still struggling to get the "Dawn Effect" to go away, but I have heard/seen others who have had luck with some light exercise about 30 mins before bed. (Light exercise being a slow walk for about 10 - 15 mins, or the stationary bike real slow, or even just some stretching/yoga.) Others have had to attack the problem…
  • One of my favorites is a cup of Greek yogurt mixed with a scoop of vanilla protein powder. Tastes like the filling of a cheese cake. I'm sure you could use other flavors to make a more pudding - like flavor, I just can't find small enough packages anywhere to make it cost effective to keep those on hand for a once in a…
  • Not sure if this is the 2 hr mark or not, but 113 Getting VERY frustrated with myself. I know what I need to be doing, but I don't seem to want to follow it. Because of this I'm getting readings all over the spectrum. Including a reading last night just before bed of 75 after a high yesterday of 168 (after breakfast…
  • @ etaylor Hope you had a good night's sleep! Round 4, day 5 All over the place today. Weekends + gym =/= exercise happen. Weekends + sleep = happiness! With that said: 20 mins of kinect zumba 20 mins of Kinect your shape fitness approx 90 mins of walking wile shopping/ taking clothes in for consignment 15 mins calisthenics…
  • Miserable excuse of a move, but managed to salvage 1.5 miles today (07/06). Don't know how to clock the rest of the activities (zumba, aerobics - you know , the stuff you do in pretty much one place?) Total miles to date: 7.09 miles edit: add in total miles moved.
  • @ etaylor Thanks for the encouragement. I'll get through some how, I just have to drag my protesting head back to the gym, and dive in. Once I'm started, I know I'll be there forever, because I love swimming so much! Nice walk/run for you today. And, a great wrap for the day with the swim. Keep up the great work. @ tazmac…
  • Only managed to capture 1.4 miles today. Makes for a sloow start for me.
  • @ etaylor Congratulations on sticking with your exercise plan on the 2nd! You keep pulling out victory after victory at the gym! You are a wonderful inspiration to me right now - I'm fighting the "I don't wanna/ I ain't gonna"s. Keep up the great work! @ tazmac Walking is walking is exercise. And, the reward at the end is…
  • Hmmm... sleep may not be a good choice for me. A totally lack-luster 115 and I slept most of the day.
  • @ tazmac Great day 12 for you! That's a nice walk, no matter where you got it! Round 4 day 2 (And, I WILL Keep this one going!) 8 hour shift shadowing - probably spent 4 hours of that trying to be involved as much as I could, only claiming to be successful about 2.5 hours though. (And, who would have thought that playing…
  • 1.5 hours post dinner, just before left for a nice long walk - 101 3.25 hours post dinner, just returned from the long walk - 104 Trampled total carbs - 96 Trampled fiber, so that net carbs came in at 58 Short on protein total walk time - 60 mins on the nose
  • 3.29 miles today 4.19 miles total to date
  • Thanks etaylor. Since I keep blowing off my exercise, figured I needed to add a second check on myself to keep things moving.
  • 2 hrs post dinner: 109 Not jumping for joy, but not totally disappointing. At least it's heading in the right direction. Carbs to this point: 55 (added a couple more for the last snack, so AM numbers may jump a little.)
  • @ etaylor I think I joined your club today! Shadowed today, so was expecting a TON more walking than I got, then went to the gym. Left said gym ticked as blazes, but I didn't manage to get anything else done. When my temper sparks, I'm not good for anything. Will go back tomorrow, and just ignore the front desk, except to…
  • Well, at least I've got a start. .9 miles today. Can only got up from there.
  • Yup, start of round 4 was a flat bust. Restart tomorrow, and I'll see if I can't get back on the wagon again. Think I'm going to have to hide my reader and books.
  • Something's wrong here. Good wrong, but wrong. No exercise, OK carbs (49 for the day), and a 2 hour reading of 97. Why is it the days I'm at, or under, carbs with a BIG exercise day I struggle to haul the post dinner numbers under 100, but the days I don't exercise, and stay under carbs it slips into the 90's easily?
  • Need something to help keep me going, so will join in - Going to start small at 30 mils, and see how I do with this.
  • Prices have gone up considerably since I pulled this one off, but for over 3 years I managed to feed 3 adults (at like 5), and still make all the critical utility and mortgage bills. Here's how I pulled that one off: Meats - Would buy a LARGE brisket and slice it down into steaks, 1 or 2 roasts (the thick end), and what…
  • Total carbs today were 77, with the adjustment for net carbs, I was still in the 60's. Nice day, and some actual mythical wet stuff fell this morning. (Sadly, I was still asleep.) Absolutely lazy day for the body, but the head has been buzzing like a kicked bee hive. But, that's not what keeps the numbers in check.…
  • Round 4 null day for me. Woke up with every intention of hitting the gym - first to swim (missed the pool hours) then to pick up things and put them down (nice dream!) but actually did nothing. At least nothing active - read for fun, read for home work, and read the MFP forums. If anyone wants, I've got a nice barrel of…
