  • Cheesehead here.... :)

  • I weigh daily. I think it's a person choice and should be what works best for each individual. if you are "much happier" weighing in once a week, then absolutely do so! But some of us need moderating on a day-to-day basis, provided we know about the daily fluctuations and view them accordingly. Just my two cents worth.
  • Sammies?? That's so cute!!! We call them sammiches. This is an interesting mix of flavors. I'm definitely going to give it a try!
  • Did you relax? You know what I mean? I lost the first 10 pretty easy and then rested on my laurels. I cut back from 60 to 45 at the gym - oh a piece of this won't hurt - that kind of relaxed. This is hard work. And constant work. Stay here - we'll help ya!!!
  • You look great!!!!! You have every reason to be proud beyond belief! Hold you head high girl - you own it!!! :)
  • And has been linked to hypertension....sorry. Sodium levels should not be ignored.
  • It's only the hardest the first week. I had a bit of a headache was all. I go very very low carb on Monday-Friday. On Saturday and Sunday I get my linguine with Pesto and a nice baked potato with my Sunday steak (red meat day). I'm full, satisfied and losing....give 'er a go!!! :) And thanks!!
  • Apparently I felt strong enough about it to post it twice! :embarassed:
  • I like your honesty!! You can do this! I am 58 and also sub-teach, as well as other jobs. Instead of saying "I don't like veggies" try narrowing it down. I don't like radishes for instance. Then you'll probably happen on some veggies you really DO like (no, I don't mean potatoes) LOL. Same thing with fruit. You'll find a…
  • I've done it several times - all with success. But you have to make wise choices after to keep the weight off. It's great for losing a quick 7-10 before a reunion, wedding, etc. It was easy for me too, cause I love soup.
  • Call the clinic manager and relate your story to him/her. They need to know about his level of disrespect. And they should refund ALL of your bill, your co-pay or whatever you may have paid. Outrageous. I'm sitting here just shaking my head. Yeah, I'm with you, I'd have punched! (((hugs)))
  • Yes it does look great! Can you tell me appx sodium in a serving?
  • Isometrics. Pull that tummy in all the way to your back and hold it. Then release for a little while and repeat. Do the same with the buns. Squeeze and release. I do this at red lights too!!
  • I just got an Android and I'm wondering - can you post to the home page from it? Or just enter food? Thanks!!
  • Carb cycling is eating very low carbs (less than 50 gr/day) on Monday through Friday, then eating more on weekends (but not pigging out eating - just eating pasta, oatmeal, bread, potatoes, etc.). I've dropped weight nicely (we have a trip coming up), but the real upside has been the flatter tummy and the no bloat. It's…
  • I just switched to low carbs (carb cycling) and never felt better!! Finally, no bloat, no gas, no kidding!! LOL!! And even at 58, I swear my belly looks flatter even with the meno-pouch!! I eat more fat and protein. I'm rarely hungry. And I'm comfortable!!
  • Ditto!! VERY Cool!!!!
  • I like to do some "me" pampering when I read a goal. Manicure, pedicure, massage (depending on what my checkbook can afford!!). Don't reward with food. You like jewelry? Get yourself a pair of earrings or a ring or necklace. I've even gone as small as a new color nail polish or something from World Market (like a soap or…
  • If you are using prepared foods, you are likely getting a lot more sodium than you need. That could be skewing the # on the scale. Do you have a slow cooker? Allrecipes.com is a great place to find easy, healthy recipes (check the nutrition label). Food.com is another good one. I went through phases where I loved cooking…
  • I hear ya!! It started happening for me last summer when we bought into our first CSA and the veggies came fresh each and every week and I scoured recipe books for new and exciting ways to prepare veggies. The food was fresh and the taste, like you said, nearly a religious experience! LOL!!! I can't even think of a fast…
  • I did South Beach with great success. But then...... I'm also reading Good Carbs Bad Carbs right now! But the one I just got interested in is the Anabolic Diet. Much like South Beach; you eat low carbs for weekdays and then are allowed carbs on the weekends. So far it's working well and I'm not hungry or having any weird…
  • I don't know that we can call football "political." But the Packers are the world Champs (again). So I hope all the booze you bought from Wisconsin tasted real good.
  • We appreciate your donation. Well, that and taking our loser quarterback off our hands.
  • There have been a couple of these threads today! LOL. Lots of nervous people out there. I'll give you the same advice I gave the others. Two words: tight jeans! And yes, have fun. No one wants to feel as though they're being deprived of having a good time. But who needs to over-do?? Not you, not me, not 99.9% of the people…
  • It's the reason I put on TIGHT jeans! There's only so much I'm going to be able to eat today!
  • I agree with everyone else. Better to WASTE then to WAIST!!! :) Toss it!
  • Big day here! Ribs as the main course. But also melon, strawberries, grapes, carrots, stuff celery, cheese and crackers. Oh yeah, and Skinny Girl Margaritas! GO PACK GO!!!!!
  • There is nothing wrong with loving food. I love to cook. I love to eat. But I've learned to do so in moderation. I'm trying to lose the last 10 (but being 58, it's a little harder than it was when I was 28!! LOL). But if I want cheesecake, I go to the store where they sell slices and share one with hubby. I've learned to…
  • Talk to me about this. My trainer once told me to drink water after a "salty" day and I said: If there is something IN my body looking to retain water, WHY do I want to give it MORE to hang on to? She said it sounded logical, so I asked my doc and she agreed. She said you'll, likely end up bloating more before you get rid…
  • One meal at Applebee's (which I love too!!!) won't do that much damage. My experience has been that I retain some liquid and my weight might be up a bit for a day or two. Obviously, keeping sodium at a healthy level is better all the way around, but every now and then a trip to Applebee's won't hurt you. (now you have me…
