That's genius!! Love it!!!

I'm told by my trainers that as long as you have the incline set to at least 1 - that's as good as running outside. I've read this in the running magazines as well. But I'm only a 5k person. A marathoner might have another opinion. Happy Feet!!!

So many from Wisconsin on here - have to say GO PACK GO!!!! I'm just south of Green Bay and it's tracking south of us - but the drifting is still going to make travel in the boondocks interesting. Everyone slow down and be careful please! There was a pickup/snow plow in the ditch across from my house this morning! A SNOW…

Green Bay, Wis (GO PACK GO!!) Blowing and drifting. Already reports of several accidents and cars in ditches. Schools still open though, except by the lake. Yes, SLOOOOOW down!!! We want you back here commiserating with us over our weight issues!!! LOL!!!!

I eat breakfast at the office too. If the boss is in and cooking for me (yep, I'm lucky!) I have 1/2 of a whole wheat English Muffin with an egg on top of it. If I'm in a hurry or alone, I have a bowl of Special K protein plus and skim milk. It keeps me plenty full - because I hit the gym around 10:30 in the morning, and…

One word: sodium. We have spaghetti squash as well. It's excellent. But cheese is quite high in sodium and you might find yourself retaining water then.

"Suzy12 - It's not that I eat take-away or anything like that but I just find I've been lazy in trying to cook healthy meals! what's in the book? like actual healthy recipes?" No recipes, but good advice on making smart food choices. For some, fast food is a way of life, so that's why that is one rule. I found it…

Pick up a copy of Michael Polan's "Food Rules" book. It's about $10 here. Pick the rules you can actually deal with. Put them on individual pieces of paper and each day pull one out for the next day. You'll make some wonderful "baby step" changes to your lifestyle. I did this with another group of gals and we had the best…

Doc told me I was pre-diabetic and to try to keep it closer to 1000. I think it depends too if there is any hypertension or heart disease or diabetes in your family.

Ok, I'm not done yet. After the post directly above, I got to thinking. And I pondered it for the whole drive home....and........what really bothers me about that is that I feel as though they are B.S.- ing me. You know??? Now granted, their reasons may be honorable (not want to hurt feelings or whatever), but these sure…

Maybe people don't want to hurt feelings? That could be part of it too, I guess. I dunno.....but these responses have been great!!!

Thanks everyone! Great advice all the way around. No - I'm not obsessing over the number. But I have gained weight and that's why I'm here. I used the numbers more as a point of comparison than to indicate I was "size crazy!" My doc has also told me I have to lose at least 10 (pre-diabetic, even though I eat as healthy as…

I LIKE THE WAY YOU THINK!!! This is an excellent idea!
-
It's a late one at work, so I needed something fast. Spaghetti squash cooked in the microwave and then some Classico spaghetti sauce heated up (it has the least amount of sodium for a jar of sauce). Topped with a bit of parm cheese.

It's so hard to pick just one! I think beets - roasted beets! I love them! But ANY other veggie roasted is tops in my book too. I can't think of one I don't like!!!

Hit the butcher shop instead of the grocery store. Or look for organic and free range. The sodium there is much less. Yes, you pay a bit more, but do you really want to be paying less and getting salt?? And the taste is awesome!

Aww sweetie - I'm so sorry! Sounds like dad has some issues and you're the lightening rod. Try not to let it get to you. Remember he can't make you feel anything - YOU have control over that. You're too young to be going through this kind of crap. Do something special for yourself and let the tension and bad feelings just…

This is easily the most debated topic on the forums. I say if you are burning zillions of cals/day, yes, eat some back. If you are burning a normal amount by hitting the gym, etc., NEVER eat them back. I don't even enter mine. But peruse these forums, you'll find this topic again and again and again.

I suffer from GERD. On some days even bending from the waist will leave my throat feeling very hot. I sleep on two pillows as well. I tried meds, but I got off of them and now take Apple Cider Vinegar with water and a bit of stevia (or honey) before each meal. It has helped tremendously. I was always clearing my throat as…

I think it's a judgment call on your side. Mine was public and then I actually found myself not entering because I knew others WOULD be seeing it. So I set it to private so I'd be honest with myself. Some might see that as backwards. You have to decide what will work for you. Not much help maybe....sorry... :(

We have Planet Fitness for $10/month and no contract. The YMCA is affordable as well. Anytime Fitness also runs around $10/month I believe. $42 is HIGH in my book!!! Sign me, Fellow cheapskate!! :)

I buy free range or organic chicken - very low in sodium. Also organic salsa is very low too. Just another suggestion....
-
This does sound yummy!!! I just put it in my recipe box on allrecipes. I love that site!!! Thanks for this post!
-
It sounds interesting. But doesn't sound very substantial for breakfast (or is this in addition to breakfast, I wonder). Worth a try though....I just dropped five in five days on the Cabbage Soup Diet! So I'll give this a try in a week or two.

Don't be discouraged. When I lost the first 13 pounds, my shoe size decreased by a size-and-a-half. Yeah!!! How nice is THAT??? LOL. Then my bra size got smaller. I'm still trying to get my butt to get the hint!!! Hang in there!!!

Yep- ditto

Unless you're training for a marathon or something, I totally agree with this post. You do NOT have to eat the exercise calories.

A friend of my daughter's took them with fairly good results. But the "leaking" can be a problem. If you eat more than the recommended amount of fat, it literally goes right through you. I guess if you're diligent on the eating part, you do lose the weight. But if we could be diligent on the eating part, we wouldn't be…

Yep 58 and mine pops and is sore occasionally. I, too, take a glucosamine/chondroitin supplement. I would make sure you're taking a good quality supplement (I use Consumerlab.com for verification). I've also worn a magnet brace from time to time. Whatever works. I'm not going to stay off my legs for several months! That's…

Ditto all of the above. I love the site! But wouldn't pay.....
