Clearly, you are dating the biggest loser. You deserve better. Find it!

Exactly. Just like the phrase "eating low on the food chain." It is a helpful euphamism that explains in a short phrase, your approach to diet. I eat low on the food chain. IMHO, fast food is crap. It is made from crap, and makes you feel like crap. It is pumped full of flavorizers and salt. There is no merit to its…

Oh man, that sounds good. Add in some cilantro and a squeeze of lime!

I eat the caffeinated beans before races of any type, or before training runs of 7 miles or more. It's only 100 calories, and my body works well with them. I eat them about 30-45 minutes before the run. During a run? Well, I haven't had too much success with beans. They are so sweet and dense that they take a lot of water…

We all started out with a picture! I still look at mine and am so happy with how far I have come. Just remember, its not about one good day, one great weekend workout, one great lo cal meal. Its about doing it every day, every meal. Over and over and over. You will train your body to lose the weight. You can do this. Your…

So I started running 2/2, have done 10 races to date and am working to my first 1/2 marathon (Memphis) in December. Then the 1/2 in New Orleans in February, then Little Rock for a full marathon in March. For prep, one of my hard core/first place marathon buddies gave me a copy of Advanced Marathoning. He said not to worry…

The only people that ever told me to "not get too thin" were people that had weight issues themselves and felt threatened by my weight loss. They didn't get that this is about ME, not THEM.

It takes me 16 minutes walking to burn about 90 calories (so says my HRM). Enough for a beer. Not a great, delicious beer, but enough for a beer. Like a Mich Ultra. Don't give up the beer, just have one or two, and before you do, walk around the block for 30 minutes or so. You'll be so much happier that you did both. A.

I don't eat much back. I generally stay around 1700-2000 calories eaten a day, even if I burn 2-3,000 calories exercising that day (long runs (7-13 miles), long bike rides (30-40 miles)--I use an HRM to track calories...). In the end, there's just no reason for me to consume all 2,000 calories MFP says I can eat before…

My weight never came off in a straight line. I work out 6 days a week, some days harder than others, and always stay just under my MFP calories (I use a fitbit and an HRM to monitor things...). When I was hovering between 25-29 pounds down, it took me about 40 days to cross the 30 lb mark. JUST STICK WITH IT. It sucks, but…

Normal carbs left me hungry, too. I tried all sorts of healthy cereals and milk, but they made me so hungry within an hour or two. Instead, I now have been making hot cereal every day. I eat Bob's Red Mill Oat Bran (which is ground up oat berries--it has all the fiber and nutrition that gets lost when oatmeal is…

I weigh out home smoked turkey and cut fruit, mostly. And anything i can't readily portion. I use a bamboo covered digital scale from BBB. A scale is definitely necessary if you plan to really track what you eat, which leads to knowledge and ultimately, control. Which of course means success. This is an endurance race, and…
