547 Reps Scaled - I felt it wasn't my best effort however my lungs were burning! I have a goal of doing MU this year, I am so closes yet I think I need to lose 10 lbs to do them well.

@ashleearoha... more fat... huh??? After being around CrossFit woman for the last 8 months at 4 different Boxes I think CrossFit women look amazing! I prefer healthy and strong over any skinny model! That goes for guys too, don't want to come off as a sexist or something.

Oh come on AllanMisner... and post some pics! LOL
-
Hello AllanMisner, are you talking about just jumping down from the box or rebounding back up to the box? Rebounding is what originally made my Achilles sore however I do them once in a while in case I will need to do them in a competition.

Thanks for the reply! I am checking out ETP now! For those of you that have been following ETP for 6 months or more I have one question can I continue on the Paleo diet or will I have to alter the types of food I eat again?

Hello kimkilbride, yes I take fish oil, glucosamine & chondroitin, and Trader Joe's Whey protein. Kelly_e_montana, I have checked out Eat to Perform from one of your posts a while back. If I am not successful with adding more CrossFit workouts per week (from 3 to 5) I will give it a try. Thank you. Hey ascrit, you are…

I guess I asked the impossible question! LOL Will just stay the path I am following and increase my workout schedule!

Hello Mummyadams, I know exactly what you are going through. It got so bad for me last summer I could barely run! I did all the icing and stretching I could but it just wouldn't go away. Then I told the instructors at my Box about this issue and that I was going to substitute any exercises that would irritate my Achilles.…

Dang, I could have done the Masters since I am 55! I did everything at 85 lbs but was told to do Knee Raises because I was doing scaled and I am actually pretty good at T2B. I did 157 Reps and 115 LBs.

Did you notice the instructor in the video is using one of those metal ropes which are easy to move fast but wait until you hit yourself with that baby! If you are a married women and you go to the doctors he might be concerned with all the whip marks on your arms and legs... LOL! I had a whip mark last 3 weeks on one of…

OMG! I totally remember theses and was looking for it a while back! It was kind of cool when you think about it, you didn't wear ear buds and could hear sounds around you!
-
LOL! I went over to one of the members of my Box that has been there a few years and whispered "have you ever heard of burpee broad-jumps or burpees for distance?" Happily the answer was no and I quickly changed the subject!

Very nice! Now you have to do double Dutch! J/K! I have been doing CF for 4 months now and cannot do DU's in a row... but now can do 1..1..2..1..1..2.. can't wait until I can string them all together. Last Saturday I had to do 125 DU (5X25) Keep up the good progress!

This is what I found on YouTube 2 hours... so glad my Box hasn't heard of this! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aWVw00zgYhg
-
Thanks! I did not imagine that at all! I will look for it on youtube.
-
Okay, this is the 2nd time I have heard of these and I just can't picture it in my mind. Do you Broad jump first and then do a burpee or do you dive forward.. land on your chest and continue?
-
Totally agree! At my Box those that are training for competitions have a special/ added practices which does not affect the rest who are either not into competition or not at that stage of CrossFit.
-
Holy Cow! I hope my Box hasn't heard of jumping forward burpees for distance! :-)
-
How do you do a Burpee 5K or even a mile?

Hello Emma, Welcome to Crossfit! I have been doing Crossfit for 15 weeks and I just love it! I started the first month with only two classes a week which was perfect because I needed more time between workouts to recover. On the second month I started doing 3 classes a week and some times 4 because I am making up a…

Interest read; glad to hear you are getting better! I got something strange going on with my knee too and two separate doctors tell me it's fine. I got full range and high knees feels better than low knee movements. When warming up the knees I put my fingers down just below the inside of my knee cap and can feel stuff…

I guess there is some truth here... I have started to make it a point to not bring up CrossFit in social gatherings. Again, how weird is that?

There is a group? D'OH! I will check it out! hum? Am I one of those kind? LOL

Hello TeeJay, My journey has been exciting and very rewarding. I have almost completed 4 months, lost about 14-15 lbs and went from a 38" to 34" waist. I started with 2 classes a week for the first month and then move to 3 classes a week. The instructors are very good, making sure I do not hurt myself... big focus on…

I am an addict... I can't wait until my next CrossFit class... got one this evening... Yah! Take a few minutes and read this review from Nerd Fitness, I think Steve and Staci nailed it! The Pros and Cons are good! http://www.nerdfitness.com/blog/2012/03/01/a-beginners-guide-to-crossfit/ I have lost 14 lbs in 14 weeks and…

At first I listed ONE Cal burned and recently changed it to 600 Cals burned. It is probably more like 800 Cals burned but that's not that important to me. I think it all comes down to how you are measuring success. I started focusing on eating better (I have been doing what I call 97% Paleo) and using the mirror to measure…
