RX 55+ = 118 Reps... was hoping to do it again this evening because I know I can complete 4 rds but my quads are shot... can barely walk down the stairs!
-
18:47 RX 55+ ... that was tougher than it looked and I thought I would do 15 or 16 mins... LOL

Thanks for the reply! I read that one and this one (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4223292/) that basically states there isn't any data that points to returning to sports to be worst then a person who swings out of bed and dislocates their THA hip. In fairness there just isn't enough data because most are…

Made great progress these last two weeks: Cindy PR and top of the leader board at my Box = 20+20 RX and just did Diane RX for the first time HSPU was the challenge time = 8:29

A few more ideas: RipFix: http://www.amazon.com/RipFix-Hand-Care-Pumice-Stone/dp/B00Y1H3JQU/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1449701047&sr=8-1&keywords=crossfit+rip+fix, CrossFit shorts because they are spendie and I can never justify buying myself a pair. I also love my nubs! If he doesn't have a good speed rope, that could be…

Congrats on your push ups! Good luck on your pull ups! You got this!

My Box does not have On Ramp classes either, I wonder if there are stats that show this type of CF starting retains more members. My Box does have beginner classes which appear to be more cardio with light weight lifting. I bet once you get through the On Ramp classes you will notice a big change. Good Luck!

My time was 8:22, plenty of room for improvement.

You know how I told you guys that I like the fact that my Box does not post WODs, well on FB today they notified us we are doing FRAN today, which is this evening for me! If I do this RX I could be last today... thrusters... thrusters... thrusters...

It seems like I am on the threshold of achieving so many goals and yet I have been walking away very frustrated lately. My coaches can tell I am a bit frustrated and they keep reminding me that I couldn't even do one pull up a year ago, that I couldn't break 90 degrees on my squats a year ago... etc! Yeah, we can be pretty…

Have any of you that have been following ETP eating actually lost weight? I know I have gained a fair amount of muscle but I haven't lost weight, I'm up 7-8 lbs but my waist is still skinny and my arms, chest and legs are much bigger. Maybe it depends on the starting point, I was pretty lean when I started ETP and really…

98 Reps... well done!
-
well 36 Reps... with 5 dropped bars and 2 no reps... good learning experience. I just spent to much time thinking instead of doing because I just learned Hang Squat Cleans. Not to mention mobility is still my enemy! 15.2 here I come!

Haven't tried shaving because I do a pretty good job of filing them down. I going to try a few more things from Amazon, I will share my progress! My fear is qualifying for a competition and then ripping my hands. Thanks for the input!

Interesting, never thought about Mechanix gloves and I do use them when working on cars.

Congrats! You guys have 25lbs balls... dang! I thought 20lbs are heavy enough! That is a tough WOD!

I just had my 1 year anniversary at my box last Saturday, I did Baseline before class to celebrate (who does this?). The first month when I started I could only handle 2x a week. After the first month started working out 3x a week. After the open I got excited about doing more competitions and started going 5x a week.…

I like working out in the heat as long as it's not to humid. The shirt does come off instantly! Minnesota summers are not too bad, we usually only get a few weeks of nasty humidity.

It is really easy for me, Paleo diet is really easy, except following ETP diet adding rice for pre and post workouts is working perfect for me! Think of it this way, you need to enter your workouts with a full tank of energy (rice add) like a car, fuel tank to excel during the WOD!

Yep Bostonwolf and bethliv I think that's going to be my next step... I need some help with my shoulders big time!

Apologies if my opening comments sounded sarcastic.. I should proof read more before responding! My point was I doubt you are anywhere near of getting discouraged... there is so much to learn when trying to master CrossFit.
-
2 months and you are doing all the Oly lifts correctly plus the other CF movements? You must be an above average athlete... impressive! My guess is you have a ton of PR's you will hit this year and I wouldn't worry about getting discouraged. YOU GOT THE BUG my friend! :) Plus, if you start doing some competitive CF events…

I almost did the entire Murph RX... had to jump on the last 10 pull ups and dropped to my knees on my last 20 push ups... 53 minutes! I am really getting sore this afternoon... hopefully with the right amount of sleep and protein I will build more lean muscle from this crazy WOD!

Monday at my Box as well... once I get past the pull ups (still suck at kipping and butterfly) I will be fine. Push-ups and running are two of my strengths. Going to spend some more time tonight working on my pull-ups. Tonight, Saturday morning and then Monday morning... there is a good chance I am going to be a wreck next…

Update: I have read the material and been following ETP for about 3 to 4 weeks. The last 3 WODs I basically smashed them, each one I seem to be able to push harder and harder. Example: 5 Rds FT, 200m run, 12 atl leg Pistol Squats and 9 T2B... time 11:18 all unbroken. Finished almost a minute faster than the rest and I am…

I am about 3 weeks shy of my first 1 year anniversary doing CF. I am an old athlete and always loved competition but that was never my intention when I started doing CF. I signed up for the Open with the local Boxes and decided I really like competing in this sport too. I am still debating if I am going to sign up for the…

interesting this voodoo floss. Aviation21 can I ask why you particularly use it on your shoulders? I ask because I have acute shoulder bursitis and always on the look out ways to increase mobility.[/quote] about 2 months ago I went through a 6 week period of extremely sore shoulders from the constant mobility exercises I…

It's a latex type of wrap, you wrap it around joints and muscles really tight and exercise them for a very short period. I was told it helps break up scare tissue, but whatever it does it appears to work. I used it on my shoulders and tennis elbows so far.…
