  • I use to say CrossFit is a constant state of soreness, now I say CrossFit is a journey of soreness from one muscle/ joint to the next! Rest days with plenty of sleep and lots of protein is what I am focusing on now. I went back to only 3 days a week, Tue, Thur and Sat and follow ETP diet. I am killing my workouts now!

  • At my box most of the time the coaches are very specific about Box Jumps, they usually want us to jump if we can or scale to step-up if we can't. One thing they have us do most of the time now is step-down, I am fine with that because I went through 3 months of really sore Achilles last summer. When they don't tell us to…
  • I looked it up too and just watch a video... interesting! Back to talking about CrossFit (there I go again), I think this is another reason I enjoying being at the box with fellow CrossFiters. I usually get to the Box 30 mins early to work on my mobility challenges and to freely chat with the others about what hurts from…
  • That is AWESOME!
  • Wow! The best time for the women at my Box is 7:20... you smashed it!
  • I have the same problem, I have done the chalk on the floor and pen & paper. Last Thursday I totally screwed up. The WOD was 5 rounds FT 10 KB Thrusters and 10 Pullups, I did 4 rounds and thought I was done yet everyone else was still going at it. Sometimes I do finish first so I was drinking water watching then I looked…
  • Very Nice!
  • Correct, if you put the plates on both sides of the abmat it is RX. A lot of the firebeathers at my box do it that way against the wall. I was just recommending when starting out without the wall to rest against, try the pad first.
  • I have been on MyfitnessPal for many years and have been doing CF for almost 11 months. I base calories burned by how hard the CF class was compared to all the other workouts I use to do. For example, I use to run the stairs in my building for 30 minutes and use the app Cardio Trainer to track my exercise. At the end of…
  • Well done, I am still trying to do kipping and butterfly pull ups too!
  • @KellyAnn1286 if you box has small pads for situps, rest your head one. It will give you an inch or so off the floor and feel a lot better than the hard floor.
  • 230... Fantastic! You must have very good technique!
  • Last night I did 25 (5x5) HSPU in the middle of the room - new PR! According to my coaches which just got certified on gymnastic training it is supposed to be easier when not against the wall because your body is better aligned and you activate your core muscles. Anyway, I form a triangle with my head and hands, bring my…
  • My Box never post WOD's, half the time when I walk in they haven't even wrote the WOD on the wall yet. I like it that way, I already am too obsessed with CF as it is! ;-)
  • thanks for sharing! One of my coaches explained ETP to me and I have been adding a pre-meal/ post-meal with white rice and I have put on about 3 lbs and I think a little fat. However, I am a lot stronger and the amazing thing is my recovery. After a WOD that would usually wipe me out for the rest of the day, I am ready to…
  • Congrats on the handstand against the wall! My most recent success is HSPU against the wall. When I was young (a long... long time ago) I use to walk on my hands all the time. I was shocked when I started CF 11 months ago I couldn't even do a handstand against the wall. I recently found out it is a lot easier to do HSPU in…
  • Overall, I like Partner WODs! At my Box they either assign us a partner or they say partner up. I usually wait until someone asks me to partner up since I still need to learn how to do things properly. Some of the Partner WODs are just because we have so many folks that it doesn’t matter who your partner is because you do…
  • If I remember correctly, when I couldn't jump my coaches had me do air squats or goblet squats. Can never go wrong working on deep squats anyway!
  • All the responses here are right on about rest days... you totally need them and yet you miss CF like we all do. I really like that you are doing Yoga on rest days, I am going to look into doing that on my rest days as well. Mobility is my biggest challenge, just focusing on mobility during rest days will make me feel a…
  • I hear ya Allan, I usually go balls to the walls while doing everything and I see the coaches over there looking at me whispering (I imagine they are saying keep an eye on him, we don't want him to die on us). I workout like I am in my 20's yet I am in my 50's. I know they are afraid they will look over and catch me trying…
  • @Mummyadams... always a silver lining! :) Feel better soon!
  • I find it hard to believe you come in last all the time except for running WODs. Are the rest of the members in their 20s and have been doing CF for at least 2 years? :) I have been doing CF for 10 months now and I cannot so many things... it's getting frustrating! Especially since I come in early, leave late, and spend…
  • I have been thinking about calf sleeves too, anyone have a favorite? Last time I did DL my left shin was bloody and the funny thing is someone came over and asked if I did that why doing DL... yes I did. Their response was priceless... "good job!" LOL

  • I have had 2 in my spine, 3 in my left knee and 1 in my hip joint. The spine shots might have worked as I do not experience pain there anymore and that was 7 years ago. The left knee helped me get through the Tough Mudder but I still have issues there. I think deep squats have really been helping my knee. The hip shot felt…
  • I have been testing different brands and right now I am taking Trader Joe's Wild Salmon Oil. http://www.traderjoes.com/fearless-flyer/article/463 I take one with breakfast and one with dinner. At this time I like it because it seems so natural however there are times when I can taste the fish oil from a little belch. Going…

  • LOL! (this might be a duplicate... strange) Then you really like "Karen" WODs?
  • I did RX Masters 65 Reps, afterwards I felt I could have done more but I was afraid of failing early and just staring at the barbell the last 2 minutes. I also noticed a few strange responses from folks when I told them I did RX Masters which was the same rep count as RX except the Masters was 95 lbs push press like…
