I am gluten free. I did so after being tested, with blood tests and an upper GI. The blood test was positive and the upper GI was normal. Although my doctor said it was not neccesary to go gluten free, I also had many of the symptoms of gluten intolerance. I went gluten free all at once. It can take months for the problems…

I have fibromyalgia. Slowly, over the past year, I've added exercise. I am now working out three times a week. One of those days, I do water aerobics, which really allows more movement and less pain during the workout. I've lost 47 pounds in that time period. During this same year, I have also mades changes to my diet. I…

I don't understand how fructose is on that list. That's the sugars in fruit. I found out, after a bunch of tests, that I am sensitive to gluten. It is basically the same as diagnosing fms, rule out everything else and take what's left. Gluten free means no cookies, breads, crackers, etc. I also made other changes at the…

I have fms too. I was diagnosed about 27 years ago. By making small changes and taking it slow, I've now lost 46 pounds, 36 of it using MFP. I am just now adding a third day of exercise every week. I cannot get over the sense of self and empowerment I have gotten in doing this for the past year! Please, anyone feel free to…

Hi. From what I've read here in the forums, MFP tends to be low with protein. I don't worry if I go over it a bit. And I do almost daily. I see it more as a minimum goal instead of a limit, like sugar or sodimu would be a limit to NOT go over. Hope this helps

H! I am Julie! I'll send you and anyone who asked a friend request. I love the back and forth of motivation and support that my MFP friends share with me.

Hi everyone! I had 110 to lose. Now, I have lost 46. I did by making small changes slowly. I went from total couch potato to excercising three times a week and wondering where to fit in just a bit more. U am addicted to the sense of empowerment I am getting with each small but doable change.Log in every day and read the…

This is off topic from your question. A day or two ago, you started a topic asking how much weight others lost in their first week. Then, you posted that you had only lost a lb in 7 mths. I had to leave but wanted to go back to read through it all. What section is that in please? Or could you post the link?

I copied this from another FMS thread that I just replied to: Hi! I just found this thread through searching for "fibromyalgia". I have had it for well over 25 years. I basically the typical couch potato until about March of this year. August of 2011, I hit 260 and was horrified. I was prediabetic and had high blood…

Hi! I just found this thread through searching for "fibromyalgia". I have had it for well over 25 years. I basically the typical couch potato until about March of this year. August of 2011, I hit 260 and was horrified. I was prediabetic and had high blood pressure, doc was ready to put me on meds. I started off making…

I'll send you a friend request too. Anyone can feel free to add me. I love and have needed the two-way street of motivation and support of my MFP friends!

Such a great resource, thank you!

I went gluten free in November 2011. I see a specialist for IBS, a gastroenterologist. I showed antibodies in my lab(blood test) for celiacs disease. I under went an upper GI to rule that out. Then, once the microbiology showed that I did not have celiacs, he suggested an elimination diet. I saw alot of improvement in a…

Amazing! I can only begin to know the level of committment and dedication that it took for those changes! Congrats and thank you for the inspiration

I was 260 last August (2011). I am down to 215 or so now. I would like to be about 150, hopefully by late next spring. Please feel free to add me, would love more inter-supportiveness. Good luck and slow but steady gets it done!

23 pounds by April is TOTALLY doable! With some committment and dedication, you could easily lose twice that. What I tell myself when I am down on how hard making these changes are, I try to remember that I did not get so overweight overnight. I look for ways other than the scales to count progress and make mini-goals too.…

My goal with this challenge is to lose 25 pounds by Dec 15th, from whatever I weigh on the 15th of Sept. I also want to keep at the changes I've made, healthier eating and exercise. Overall, I love the inspiration that I get from others here on MFP. I get support too, in giving it, that's also inspiring me.

Hi everyone! I am beyond excited and raring to go! This is my first challenge too and I am really looking forward to it! Nothing much better than having others to cheer on and cheer you on!
-
I'll send you a request. I started trying to lose last August, but only half heartedly. I joined here in Feb too and I have now lost 41 pounds. That makes me a bit less than halfway through. Well, not through, but at my goal. :-)

I SO needed to hear this and thanks for the laugh! I see myself here, done every new "diet" and tried all the newest weight loss supplements, with that hope. I recently saw an ad here for Medifast and clicked through to check it out. I saw a Dr Oz show where he and another doctor tauted some kind of green coffee bean…
