Always looking for new friends!

and an update about my parents... They have started being conscious about their food. I think that is step number 1! :)

Thank you!

Thank you for the kind words. We are all awesome!

As you lose weight, you should look at it as a process of educating yourself on food. I felt like because I found great passion on other things besides just losing weight. Most importantly it should be about beginning a lifelong journey of eating food that is beneficial for your body. As for dealing with changes, my mood…

Find your numbers via myfitnesspal - and go a little under. That's what I have done for the entirety of my weight loss. I was a big guy at one time so i started out at 2200 calorie suggestion. I ate 1800-2000 based on if I was able to exercise or not. As my weight dropped, I also drop calories. MFP now suggests me to eat…

Thank you to everyone who responded! :) feel free to add me as I'm pretty active on the app!

The before picture was at 320. I did not take a "before" picture because I did not think I would succeed at first. I was at a 46 to 48 pant width at that time. Now, I wear a 34. :D

I am 6'4. Most of my friends tried to tell me I was crazy when I said I weighed that much. But I remember it very clearly going to the doctor's office and seeing that number on the scale. I couldn't believe I had let myself get to that point.. It just happened out of nowhere. I hadn't weighed in a few months and over that…

The last 30 is your victory lap. Enjoy it! Congrats to you!

I wasn't trying to get people to argue by starting this topic but it seems that I am too late for that. We are all here for our own individual goals, but everyone here some something in common. We are all trying to better ourselves. The one thing that I do not do well with are people who "choose' (good word choice, since…

Lol, I hope that is their slogan. I will look for this bread and see if I can track some down. Thanks for the suggestion!

The first thing I would suggest would be to relax. You cannot force this issue. It seems you have a good workout regiment established, so next would be the diet. What kind of foods are you eating? How are you watching what you are eating? What is your goal in your diet? There are many tweaks you could do to your diet that…

I drink green tea daily, but I have also been making sun tea every 2 days! I love it! It is definitely nice in the evening.
-
Exactly! Thank you for your help. I just feel like I know what bothers me, so logically the answer is to stop eating it. I hope you and your son have adapted to the diagnosis. I know the doctor explained a great deal to me about Crohn's and it was what got me started dieting. He showed me the importance of the diet, but…

I absolutely love to cook. I have not tried baking anything GF thus far because I have no clue where to begin. I will start with the crumble.. that actually sounds like it would hit the spot right now. I try to avoid processed anything, so no worries there! I think it is wonderful that you have made this commitment for…

Thanks, it seems the topic has had a turn for the better! I will send you a friend request, if that's okay? Good to have support of people who understand!

I had the colonscopy done (with the biopsy) to check for Chron's. Do you think that they tested for Coealic as well? He never mentioned it to me.
-
Thank you for the request! Always great to have another friend and a resourceful one as well! I see that you are a teacher. I just graduated with my degree to be a Special Education teacher. This is why I am concerned about not feeling well. I know how much of an impact my attitude can have on the students each day. I am…

So far, the only thing on my diet that I really had to adjust was sandwhich bread. My diet consists of mainly just fruits/veggies/some diary/meat. Pretty simple thing going on, however I do have a desire for a cracker every now and then. I just bought a thing of rice crackers to begin. I hope to one day not have to find…

Thanks for the websites. I will definitely look into them. I am glad you figured out what was bothering you. I hope I can say the same soon!

I had the biopsy done last year. It came back negative.

I was tested for Crohn's last year. The doctor informed me that I more than likely had it.. then retracted his statement after going through the testing. Then, it was a thyroid problem.. then it wasn't. It was very frustrating because I never got an exact answer other than he told me to start taking care of myself. (I did…

Just trying to be positive about it - that is all! I feel like if I look at eliminating gluten as a "bad" thing then that sets the pace for me and this new lifestyle. If I look at it as a "good" thing, as a possible way to feel better.. then it is much easier to begin and maintain. Thanks for the information!
-
Guess I'll have to adjust then. Thanks

I've lost my 120 pounds that I needed to drop. I am no longer looking to drop weight. I am looking to feel better. I feel much better than I did 120 pounds ago, but I still have difficulty with my stomach. I plan to get tested when I go to the doctor next. In the meantime, I was going to try this out. Thanks for the input.
-
My apologies. I was just trying to emphasize that I had not been diagnosed.
-
I have not been diagnosed, so I am choosing this route. The point of this was to talk to others in similar situations where they were trying something new because it seemed logical, but had no official diagnosis. If you are here to "help" and give advice, you should work on your delivery. It's not effective.

Pretty vague statement to make, but thanks for the input. If you'd like to elaborate, I'd like to hear what you have to say.
