Insanity week 4, day 2. Plus a sweet 12 mile bike ride in the gorgeous spring weather!

I just completed Week 4, day 2. I gotta tell ya, I'm getting pretty bored with this first round of vids. I'm looking forward to next month.

Leigh Peele is an advocate of 2-3 meals a day too. Whatever works best for you so you don't over-eat.

Ignore the scale! It could be inflammation and/or water weight from all of the pounding and jumping. Just keep at it.
-
Depends on how many miles after I must run! If it is just one mile as fast as possible - around 7:45

20-25 miles per week is a LOT for someone who just started 4 weeks ago. I suggest you cut back your mileage and increase slowly....no more than 10% increase per week. And every few weeks step back your mileage a little bit to give your body a chance to recover. If your body is hurting you.... it's trying to tell you…

When I first started running it bothered me to run consecutive days. Now i can do it, but I try not to. If I have to.... it's only one back to back per week. And I keep my high intensity and long runs separated by a day. Does that make sense?
-
Yes, you will be fine. The Runnersworld SmartCoach app can guide you with a program based on the number of weeks you have left.

Bodyrock.tv - 12 minutes a day! Everyone can find 12 minutes!

Ok.... I have two sets of scores since I am on week 3 of the program. 1. SK - 52...... 46 (wtf?) 2. PJ - 49...... 51 3. PK - 87 ..... 89 4. PJ - 30 ..... 31 5. GJ - 8 ..... 9 6. SJ - 15 ..... 15 7. PJ - 15 ..... 21 (woot) 8. LPO - 34 ..... 46 (woot woot)

Thanks for the tips, Kiki!

What are your questions? Is it just the sizing issue? Because if you buy on Amazon you can choose size. Men/women/unisex were the choices I had.

THere is a chick named Chelsea who does "real time" bodyrock workouts on video and puts them on youtube. She uses a 20 lb dumbbell for some of the Ugi stuff.

Thanks for the welcome! :) I don't know if it matters or not, but I don't have much to lose. I'm 5'9", 139, 22% body fat. I'd love to drop 5 or 6 lbs and hit 20%. So I'm just looking to eek the last little bit of fat off my body to hit my goal. Does that change anything? Expect slower results? Any change in terms of daily…

Nope. It's body weight only. Just a good pair of sneakers to jump in!!

Do most people gain pounds, but lose inches at first? because I guess I don't really care so much about the number on the scale...... it's the tight pants that will put me into orbit!
-
Congratulations! That is fabulous. I love reading these successes.
-
So I'm around 139 right now. I wear a 4 or a 6 - depends on the cut. I shop at places like the Gap or JCrew where I can get a long inseam.

I have a heart rate monitor so I added by hand - each individual workout with my calorie burn for that particular dvd. I think people use "circuit training" and "high impact aerobics" as possible options.

Keep running - at least 3 days per week. Maybe try one of those days to increase your mileage a little bit. One day do some speed intervals - even if it means you walk part of the time. And one day easy pace about 3 miles distance. Yes keep crosstraining. Do whatever you want. I always found yoga was a nice complement to…

OMG. I'm addicted to cottage cheese!! I eat it every day..... I usually mix in some fresh berries, raw almonds, and a few dried cherries. OMG it's heaven!!
-
I'm 5'9" - currently 139. Hoping to get to 133. Almost there! But, it's so hard at the end!!

These were my stats prior to starting 3 weeks ago: Height - 5'9" Weight - 141 Bust - 36 Waist - smallest part - 27 Waist - around belly button - 29.5 Hips - 36.5 thighs - 22 calf - 15 forearm - 9 bodyfat according to the handheld thing at my gym - 22.1% I'm planning to remeasure at the end of the first month and again at…

Hi - I'm Ali. I'm 41, live in the northeast, have 4 kids from 16 down to 9. I lost 50 lbs about 6 years ago and have kept it off. I just had a lot of piled up baby weight from all those pregnancies. LOL. I'm pretty fit already - I've run 4 marathons. But, I was looking for something different to mix it up and maybe get a…

Caffeine is a stimulant and that is what is in many OTC weight loss pills.

I agree with those who say it's not a good match. I'm an experienced distance runner and I don't think I could start serious training now. I'm on the 3rd week of Insanity. I have been running some miles here and there.... but nothing too long and strenuous. You don't want to end up injured from over-training esp since you…

I actually have 4 placentas in my freezer. But, no you can't have them. ;-) I planned to bury them and plant a beautiful tree or bush on top..... but I never lived anywhere that I wanted to stay long term. Soooo.... they are in my freezer. LOL
-
that sounds way too high to me. People generally burn 90-110 calories per mile running. You would get a 600 calorie burn around 6 miles or so.....
-
Amen, sister!!!! I've been nearly hit a few times on my bike. Pisses me off to no end!

Sucks when you feel that way. I've been there too. I still feel that way at times and I'm thin now. Body image stuff just sticks with you sometimes. That little voice can be hard to ignore. Today is the first day of the rest of your life. Just start making better choices today...... You can do it!!
