I have not tried it. But, I've heard good things about it. It's pretty pricey though isn't it? There's another similar workout I looked at -- GSP Rushfit. Also based on MMA

"starvation mode"..... sounds like the plague.

how about if you get an inhaler for your asthma..... albuterol is safe in pregnancy.

I put my food in ahead of time a lot. It really helps me especially if I am making a recipe or combining things... to see if I'm over on calories or if I can tweak it a little more. There are a lot of times when I see the food in black & white.... I will adjust accordingly.

How about you get what you get.... and you don't get upset. :smokin: Seriously...... enjoy the workout. Don't worry about the burn. The number is an ESTIMATE anyway.

IMHO - marathon training is NOT when you should be trying to lose weight. It is VERY taxing on your body and you need to make sure you are well fueled. I tend to gain 5 lbs when I am training for a mary. My body needs it. I know it is counter-intuitive since you are logging such high mileage..... but it is what it is.

If you sat on your butt for those 4.5 hours you would probably burn 250-300 calories. So I guess the question is --- was walking around worth the other 750-ish calories? It seems a tad high to me...... OTOH, 4.5 hours is a long time.

....... and that is precisely why you should keep going. You just do the best you can. You will improve. Promise. ;)

you should have punched him. What an *kitten*.

Yes, your body gets more efficient at cardio exercises the more you do them. But you also burn fewer calories when you lose weight. It just doesn't take as many calories to move a lighter body through space. No biggie. Switch it up a bit, keep at it. Doesn't look like you have much to lose anyway (looking at your avatar)

I clip mine to my bra during the day. It tracks steps, stairs, etc. When I go to sleep I put it in the wrist band and press & hold the button down which starts the timer. When I wake up I press and hold the button again which stops the timer. This is how you track sleep. When you are near your computer (with the charger…

I have a dip station, not the equalizer. I almost never use it. My 9 year old daughter, on the other hand has a blast on it almost every day. She kicks my *kitten* too!!!

I did not read all 4 pages..... but get an endometrial ablation. No need to go through a hyst.

 Anything's possible.

Well, from a post Freddy made, I got the impression that Zuzana cheated on him and that's why it ended. My boyfriend thinks that the new yoga girl is going to have a boob job and be the next chosen one. LOL.... we'll see!

Swimming to train for cross country running is like playing tennis to train for the football team. It is not going to help you run. I say run around the block..... or get your mom to bring a bike and you can run while she bikes with you for safety.

I like BodyRock until Lisa had her "transformation". She now has gigantic fake boobs & lips , and hair extensions. All she needs is the Czech accent and she will have morphed into Zuzana. Me thinks Freddy has a lil problem..... The workouts are ok. I liked that they are quick. It was a nice complement to my…

This sounds like great advice!

I haven't read all 400+ posts in this thread, but I'm just going to go on the record and point out that a HRM is STILL an estimation!! There is NO way to know exactly how many calories you burn during a given activity. You can only estimate.... and the OP is right in underestimating whenever possible. I also happen to…

I do not eat them. I set a calorie goal for myself which takes into account my activity level.
-
I think the problem with these fancy calculations is that we talk about these things - BMR, TDEE, calories burned during exercise, NEAT.... we talk about these things like we *know* the actual numbers. They are ALL gross estimations. Despite the fancy Polar HRM - you actually don't know how much you are burning when you…

If you feel full, stop eating. Don't worry about what people say to do. Listen to your body. Listen.

There's no way to get that money back? or a partial refund? If it's not working and you are feeling hungry and having binge cycles..... then don't do it!! Forget the money. Move on! Track your calories, increase your activity. If you feel like you can only manage 3 days at a time on a deficit then that's ok! Just figure…

LOL!! I would say this but I'm old enough to be your Mom, I think. Great job! Your transformation is incredible. Just shows you what hard work and perseverance can do!

+1 million!

"eat more to weigh less" is the battle cry of this website. I think we are going to have to agree to disagree.
-
Yes, I would. And currently that's what I am doing, actually. But, I'm tired of hearing that people can't lose weight on 1200 calories per day. Of course you can!!! Is that the best thing for your health or your physical fitness? No, probably not.... but to make a blanket statement that you can't lose weight or that your…

Eat at a deficit.:drinker:
-
With all due respect, you are confusing weight loss and fat loss with strength training. Apples and oranges my friend. To weigh less you must create a deficit.
-
I'm starting to think this "eat more to weigh less" business is MFP broscience. You lose weight by having a caloric deficit. Period. End of story. You can create the deficit by eating less, exercising more, or a combo of both. And honestly, I've been doing some reading - and I"m not convinced of any sort of metabolic…
