  • I found what appeared to be a 'fossilized' fin in a can of tuna. Yep, that turned me off tuna for a long while....I still haven't recovered :noway:
  • Yes! I say "Please", "Thank you", "Have a nice day", and all of the other nice things mom taught me, but then I get a rude response. It hurts my feelings :frown:  lol
  • Customer Service...I forgot that one. I feel like I am a very nice person; probably too nice. When I patronize an establishment, it'd be nice to have the person on the other side of the phone/counter/etc to be just as nice. I understand that we're all human, and have our bad days...but if I'm friendly, why can't they be as…
  • 1.) Horror Movies- esp. Zombie flicks (Yes, I am a fan of 'The Walking Dead'). Horror movies have been a lifelong addiction for me, and I will go on and on about my love for-- yep, did it again smh 2.) I'm a newbie in an organization, so I tend to talk about it a lot (forgive me, this too shall pass)... 3.) Psychology.…
  • Well, you're still making great progress! If you're looking for a more significant change, you might not be getting enough calories. When I first began working out, I lost little to nothing for a while. I was doing it allllll wrong. I'm not sure if this is correct, but it was explained to me that your NET calories should be…
  • Snakes- they're deplorable. I can't watch them on tv, can look at a picture of them... I hate them. I just absolutely hate them. FYI- Never try to 'overcome' your fear of snakes by watching 'Snakes on a Plane'...... doesn't end well
  • Because she seems happily married and I'm not even dating anyone
  • Hunger Games reference *chuckle*
  • How do I handle them? Like a BOSS...Ok, horrible pun...sorry :blushing: If you don't want it, politely decline. People don't treat healthy lifestyle choices like the plague anymore (some people at least), so I'm sure they'll understand. For future gatherings, I would suggest just asking if they can order some healthier…
  • Thanks for sharing this! My best friend/roomie LOVES tacos and now I can cook something he loves while still being healthy!
  • Putting a scale on carpet (flat surface or not) will definitely change the results! Don't be so hard on yourself
  • Florida! <3 the Gulf Coast :-)
  • I love Hummus.... I don't know how to make my own, unfortunately :-( BUT I like to buy pitas, slice them in triangles (or long strips, whatever you prefer), and drizzle a little olive oil on them. Pop them in the oven at 325 F for a few mins (depending on your desired "crunchiness") and they are great for dipping! Sabra is…
  • idk your range but I'm 24 :-)
  • I don't see an issue- although I honestly may be a bit apprehensive at first. Not because the person has been divorced, but because this person has experienced something (love and loss) on a level that I can't even imagine (nor do I want to). True, the vows say 'til death'...but honestly, not many people go into a…
  • Like others have said already, I feel it helps with the cramps. I do feel, however, that my workouts are less intense. For this reason I try to make sure that I am drinking a lot of water and getting a good amount of protein.
  • I agree. It can't hurt to suggest a few more options. At my office, our catered lunches always include salad and fruit for the people who choose not to eat the other options. These options work as well!
  • What about drinking vodka until it tastes like water? Have I drank too much?
  • Days after I posted this 'rant', the scale started moving in the opposite direction. Yay for the small victories! Thank you everyone!
  • I agree, that's a great way to put that. This site has taught me to appreciate the "small victories" in my weight loss journey.
  • This group is growing fast! Hi and Good luck everyone!
  • That's a great idea about the 2/3 time, I'll start doing that and see if anything changes!
  • I've heard about that. That is probably something I should consider. Thank you
  • Thank you! I'm definitely working on what works for me. I've broken my weight loss into 25 lb increments. I feel like this will work better for me because if I keep 'mini goals' along the way, I'll feel more motivated! I am DEFINITELY the type to feel overwhelmed if I take on too much at once!
  • Thanks for the input. I actually have more than 25 lbs to lose, but I broke my goals into 25 lbs increments so that I won't feel overwhelmed. I'm looking to lose the (healthy) max of 2 lbs a week. I think that I might actually be over estimating my exercise calories. So many machines/calculators give me so many different…
  • Hi, I'm Jovan and I'm a 24 y/o student from Florida. I was always pretty active up until I graduated from high school. I wanted a 'break' from everything when I first started college at 18, but that break turned into gaining the Freshman 15,20,25,etc. With my mom being a former model, I always had an issue with my body. My…
  • HI and welcome back! Me: 24 y/o student, desk job, searching for more motivation :-) I would be happy to have you and anyone else as friend! Good luck everyone!
  • The bar code scan, (I have an android phone), is definitely a plus on the app! I love it! It saves so much time and 'counting' doesn't seem as tedious :-)
