  • I am still here because I still want to be here and need to be here. I am a numbers person and I like logging my calories and seeing how many calories my body is using. I enjoy the other people that use this site. The main reason I won't give up is that I want to be happy with my body.
  • Yes you would. But it is your personal choice of how you want to lose weight. The best way to lose weight is the way that works best for you. Congratulations on your weight loss already, it looks like whatever you are doing is working for you!
  • I have lost all of my excess body fat not eating clean. My main focus has been on eating and drinkiing less calories than my body needs. If and when I exercise it is for physical fitness. I drink water and other liquid drinks and eat foods with water in them to stay hydrated. So far it has been working great for me.
  • 10 cups per day average for the past year has been in my diet.
  • All foods are fattening foods if you eat enough of them. I try to limit certain foods because I like them so much it is difficult for me to eat them in moderation. No foods are fattening foods if you do not eat more of them than your body needs. So I do agree with your post.
  • Yes, this has also been my experience. I have found that after I eat foods especially with starch in them like breads or sugary foods then I get super hungry. Cutting back on sugars and starches does help me to be less hungry which also helps me to eat less calories. I do think that eating food in general feels good which…
  • Yes it has worked for me.
  • I do believe it is only by eating less calories than our body needs that we can lose weight. But for me personally eating less sugars and starches has helped me to not feel as hungry so that I can eat less calories. I still allow myself to eat refined foods and flours and sugars but in moderation.
  • I had to record a 6300 calorie day a few weeks ago but to my surprise I have not gained back all of the weight that I have lost. It is just a bump in the road. It does not end the journey, it just slows it down a little. We all live with imperfection because it is a part of being human. Just dust yourself off and keep…
  • Too much or not enough. Either one of them can be deadly!
  • Exercise is not a requirement for losing excess body fat but eating and drinking less calories than your body needs is absolutely necessary. Exercise and eating healthy are great for your body but not a necessity for fat loss.
  • I believe it is a myth however I do overeat on some days and undereat on other days. There seems to be on average at least one day a week that I overeat and one day a week that I undereat. I don't worry about being perfect everyday. I go by weekly and monthly averages and so far that has worked really well for me.
  • I am also 5 ft 11 inches tall except I am 53 years old. 2500 to 2700 calories is about what my body needs daily. I weigh 187 pounds so I am still trying to lose a bit to get to a healthy bmi.
  • Doritos, sourdough french bread, garlic bread, pizza, Fritos corn chips, Cheese-Its, english muffins are just a few of the carbs I love but don't love me back when I eat them in excess. I could probably live off these foods alone but if I don't eat some protein and fats then I don't think it would be a very healthy diet. I…
  • Being healthy is what is important. With a low calorie diet it is important to make sure you are getting adequate nutrition. If you are taking in less calories than your body needs you will lose weight. If you are obese the majority of that weight will be fat. If you have low body fat the majority of that weight will come…
  • 45 to 65 grams would be a good minimum for me and 120 grams maximum. Fat doesn't make a person fat if the calories are not more than is needed by the body. I divide my weight by three and use that as the minimum number of fat grams I would like to eat. I like to get a variey of different types of fats from nuts and meats.…
  • Yes I drink diet sodas. No calories means no fat gain.
  • You are way ahead of many people because you are making an effort and have not given up. Exercise is about physical fitness. Cutting calories is about losing weight. If 2000 calories is not getting you the weight loss you desire then you may need to drop to 1750 or even 1500. It is your choice of what works best for you.…
  • All of my weight has been lost by eating and drinking less calories than my body needs.
  • Weight loss happens in the kitchen. Fitness happens in the gym. It does not cost more money to eat less calories. Mfp is free and you can keep track of how many calories you are eating and drinking. God does love you no matter what your weight is, your friends and family love you no matter what your weight is. The problem…
  • Not this guy. But I do think they are all beautiful looking women.
  • Well we at least agree on point number 6. Good luck with all the rest.
  • Eat and drink less calories than your body needs and you will lose weight. It is only as complicated as you want to make it.
  • Yes. Weight loss is about cutting calories to less than your body uses. Exercise is for physical fitness.
  • I am just guessing but I would think that the majority of people that are losing weight are not calorie counting. I used to be one of those people that could not understand how someone could count their calories, it just seemed like so much work. I had no problem losing weight just by getting more exercise and eating less…
  • I sort of liked the term morbidly obese. It helped me to think about what could happen to me if I did not make changes. I was twice the weight that was considered healthy for my height. This is a long hard journey but it would have been deadly for me if I hadn't taken it. I am not in perfect health but I know my odds are…
  • Yes, I was severely obese. The highest weight for me was 356 lbs. and that was in 2010. I lost 126 pounds first and then gained back 100 and now in the last 9 months I have lost 124 pounds and I am no longer considered obese just overweight. I am now working on that last 25 pounds. For me the thought is to never give up,…
  • 95 to 100 percent diet for me. I gained 100 pounds with a lot of exercise and a high calorie diet. Now I have lost 152 pounds from my highest weight with lower calories and 15 to 30 minutes per day exercise.
  • I drink as much diet soda as I want whenever I want because it has no calories and does not hinder my weight loss. However I try to stay away from the regular soda with sugar in it because of the high calories. I do miss drinking regular soda but I drank WAY too much of it so it had to go.
  • You are not alone. I can relate to the things you have written. Exercise is not required to lose weight. However if you can exercise it is good for your body and mind. Eating healthy is not a requirement for losing weight but most people wouldn't advise someone to eat unhealthy things. There is one requirement for losing…
