  • It has worked well for me for the last six months. My daily calories are from 0 to 3500 per day. I average my calories by the week and by the month. Sometimes I know that there is a celebration with extra calories involved so I may eat a little less before it or after it to keep my calories where I want them to be.
  • A healthy body is about what is going on inside your body. Ads are about selling something. They are two different things.
  • Your diary is closed so it makes it a bit difficult to answer. But if you are between 50 to 300 per day you should be okay unless you have a medical problem that tells you that you should have less protein. It is probably a good idea to stay under 1200 calories per day in protein alone.
  • Almonds have carbs, fiber, protein and healthy fats. So if you are afraid of fats a handful could quickly add 300 to 600 calories and not all fat calories. Or if your a carb fan bread is loaded with calories.
  • Water weight. Exercise will make you hold extra water weight. Keep up the exercise because that is what is makiing your body look better. How you look is much more important than what the scale says. You have to be patient, how many months have you gone without seeing the scale weight go down? Sometimes scale weight drops…
  • People who are vegan or vegetarian can be healthy. People who are meat eaters can be healthy. It sounds like your friends are just trying to tell you what they think is true. If your friends were vegan or vegetarians then obviously they would have a different belief. It is best to just do what is right for you. No matter…
  • Good nutrition will only help you to lose weight if you are eating less calories than your body needs. Physical fitness is important but not required to lose weight. So what you eat and drink is the most important thing for weight loss.
  • Salt does not make you fat. Water weight from salt is temporary. 2500 or under is recommended in the usa but some other countries use 3500 without ill effects. Unless your doctor has recommended for you to use less then no need to worry about it. Sometimes I can see a 5 pound gain after eating excessive salt but it is…
  • Keep doing what you have been doing and be patient. You don't gain fat without extra calories which means the weight has to be something other than fat if you have been eating less calories than you are burning. Water weight sucks, I know. Or if you have only a small amount of weight to lose you need to set yourself up to…
  • Calories are the most important for fat loss. Macros help to determine what your body will look like after the weight loss. Macros also can change the amount of water weight in your body.
  • It might help if you think of your calories like a checking account, if you have extra calories one day and are not hungry then you can eat them at a later date when you are hungry. Or if you are hungry today and need to eat more then maybe tomorrow or the next day you may be able to eat less to make up for it. If your…
  • I eat salad mainly for the health benefits. It is full of vitamins and minerals. It has fiber and water which both help digestion. The low calories makes for a nice guilt free snack when I just feel like munching on something.
  • Coffee first, exercise on empty stomach, then water and eat if I am hungry. This works best for me but everyone is different. Some experts say eat some carbs before and after exercise.
  • Even with the problems I have found this site to be very helpful. There are quite a few knowledgeable people who generously share with others what they have learned.
  • No. Your body will not get fatter by not eating enough calories. Losing body fat and being healthy are not always the same thing. To stay healthy and lose weight it is a good idea to get proper nutrition and that is why people tell you to eat more and lose weight at a slower rate. Many things change scale weight,…
  • No I do not believe eating healthy is crucial to lose weight. Eating healthy is how you look good and feel good as you lose weight. And there is no fixed percentage of weight loss for exercise. Do no exercise and you can lose weight or exercise constantly and you can lose weight, the percentage is up to you. Exercise is to…
  • I found that the first couple of weeks were the most difficult. If you were high carb before then you may lose 5 to 10 pounds of water weight of which some of that will come back if you ever go back to eating a lot of carbs. I have found the biggest benefit for me was the fact that I don't feel as hungry which makes it…
  • December 31st 2013. I would like to be at a healthy bmi before that date.
  • Yes a person can be addicted to certain foods. For myself, I cut out the foods that I had a difficult time eating in moderation. Most of those foods were not full of nutrition anyway. I do miss eating and drinking them and maybe one day I will eat them in moderation but right now staying away from them seems to work pretty…
  • My focus is more on making sure I am eating less calories than my body needs. There is no way around that when it comes to losing weight. If I continue to do that I will always lose weight. Oh and the other thing is making sure I don't give up and go back to eating too many calories. I think for me being patient and not in…
  • It seems like the exercise shows up more in the measurements or smaller clothes. But it is frustrating at times to not see the scale weight go down. I just make sure I am doing everything right and know that if I am patient that eventually it will show on the scale. My weight seems to come off in chunks, at times I have…
  • You will lose probably 5 to 10 pounds of water weight if you cut back low enough on carbs. If you go back to excessive carbs later you will gain that water weight back. I like that my appetite was not so out of control with the lower carbs but I don't think it would be worth doing for just one week.
  • Try the 1 pound per week option which will give you another 500 calories per day or 1700 calories and do that for a couple of months and you will probably find that you lose more than 1 pound per week. Why starve yourself?
  • Eat more calories than you burn, gain weight. Seems simple enough unless I am missing something.
  • German Shepherd. I walk with him four or five times per week. Sometimes I walk him. Sometimes I think he walks me. But its all good.
  • It sounds like your intentions are good but I believe morbid obesity is not something to play around with. Having someone only losing one pound per week when they have 150 pounds of fat to lose would be a three year time frame. There is a chance they could be dead by then. I would agree with you more if it were someone…
  • It is possible your Dad felt bad about telling you no and that is why he said you could have one later. Maybe when you said you didn't want a second sandwich then it made him feel even worse that he told you no in the first place. Sometimes when a person gets mad it is at themselves and not the other person but it still…
  • Pork is not a red meat. It is a lower calorie white meat.
