You are making me so jealous - just the thought of whitebait is making my mouth water. When looking at the calorie counts bear in mind that whitebait means different things in different parts of the world. Here in the UK whitebait is a small fish about the size of a sardine. Sardines in the UK are much bigger & what Kiwis…

Just tell yourself that you are running faster than they are - this from someone who at full pelt can run a mile in 9m45s - my best 5k time is 30m 32s but when I was moaning once about my lack of speed, a fellow club member said - it doesn't matter how slow you run, you are still beating the people on the sofa. - and it's…

Thank you - I will look to see if I can find a copy here in the UK:smile:

Only 22 miles this morning - much colder than it has been for a couple of weeks & some of the group were not feeling too well, but I have done a total of 198.4 miles - can I count that as two centuries? If so, I am really pleased. I don't find cycling all that easy, I have very week legs and we have some serious hills…

Was at 171.4 (every little bit helps) & did a whole five miles tonight, but it was all hill reps & trying to push in a big gear up the hills & if not doing that then standing in the pedals which I find really hard. However, now at 176.4 miles & will be out on Saturday morning which is still MARCH so it will count!!

I use my bike on a turbo trainer so my speedo/bike computer tells me how far I have 'ridden' & sometimes my tri club use the spin bikes at our local leisure centre - the spin bikes have a read out that shows calories/watts/cadence/distance 'ridden' etc - not so easy if you don't have a bike computer I guess.

33 miles on road bike on Saturday - boy was I tired after that! but there was no walk of shame up any hills & we have HILLS here - and another 10 miles tonight - but there was a walk of shame - but it was up a hill with a 14% gradient - i am determined to get up it without walking by the end of the summer. Anyway total…

A whole 7 miles tonight on the road bike, just to test my newly adjusted handlebars and brakes - better than they were although it will take me a while to get confident on the drops again now that they have been moved. BUT now I do feel that I can stop going down hills. But new total 135 miles to date.

OK - so now I have looked back at my earlier posts & was at 98.4 miles after last Saturday, so now 128.4 miles & it's only the 22nd of the month. Out on road bike again this Saturday and again Tuesday night to come so hopefully will make the 150 miles I was aiming for.

30 miles tonight on stationary bike - but have forgotten how many I have done so far! Oops - need to go back & look, but must be close to 100 now:smile:

28.4 miles on road bike this mornning - bit wet and windy & discovered that my brakes don't work properly so some adjustment is required there. Had to walk up one steep long hill & walk DOWN another!!:embarassed: :embarassed:

Another 28 miles on stationary bike on Thursday so that's 70 miles so far - out on road bike again tomorrow morning.
-
28.5 miles today - first time I have ridden on the road since the beginning of January!! So different from riding on the turbo trainer - I am SO tired!! But - 25 miles on turbo on Thursday & 28.5 this morning so 53.5 miles so far this month - aiming to do 150 by the end of the month.
-
Did 25 miles on stationary bike last night - out on road bike tomorrow - hope I get to 150 miles before the end of the month!
