Here in Australia, the Speedo (or budgie smugglers, as we prefer to call them) is pretty much a national icon. Certainly to be worn when swimming laps......can you imagine trying to do something athletic in water with acres of fabric flapping around your legs? I really don't understand all the Speedo-hate out there. On any…

My daughter and I took a couple of archery lessons and I was amazed at the calorie burn when I logged it (although, I feel MFP calculations are a little on the high side).....will definitely love to get into it as a sport when I've finished studying and can afford the equipment. That's some expensive gear!

awesome!

I was so "in the moment" of my Zombies, Run! session that I screamed when an old man shuffled around the corner in front of me (fortunately, I checked myself before trying to stab him in the neck or do something else unfortunate to the poor, unsuspecting soul)

Hello! I'm Kelly and my superpower is helping tiny human beings escape from inside the much larger one in which they developed....and, in the process, helping to create Superwomen out of mere mortals :)
-
Oh, and the Zombies, Run! App is lots of fun if you like to add a little geeky twist to a normal walk/run
-
Fellow Geek here.....feel free to add me :) I've recently got into geocaching, which is a kinda geeky calorie burn if you look for caches which involve a bit of a walk/hike

I hear you. I have similar issues....a lifetime of celebrating with food, commiserating with food, relieving boredom with food, anaesthetising myself with food, it's a vicious cycle. Those habits can be tough to break, but with people who understand and support you around you, it's made a little easier. I saw a quote a few…

I'm a Mum of two and have at least 25kg to shift. I find giving and getting support here on MFP to be a valuable tool in my "new-me" project. I'm also a midwife and enjoy learning about people's journeys before they become clients of mine ;) Feel free to add me

Prepare yourself a big bowl of watermelon chunks and grapes, light up, then munch to your heart's content......you'll have never tasted fruit so damn good!

Snap! on the first three points in your intro (except substitute Big Brother for mum of 2) I understand what it's like juggling all those commitments whilst trying to work on your own health and fitness. You can add me, if you like

Hi there. What a great start! I've recently got back into logging after falling off the wagon for a while. This site is great and helps keep me motivated. Add me to your cheer squad, if you'd like:smile:
-
I've heard this one too.....also never figured out the relevance. Gorgeous dog, btw
-
hahaha....it's "Scott-no-friends" here in Oz, but I'm married to an Irishman, so I understood :) Add me, if you like, I've recently renewed motivation and looking to get a good support network going
-
I'm in much the same situation......but hoping to stick with it this time and support others to do the same. Add me, if you like
-
I also have a goal of being fit by forty....I'll be 38 in Jan, so it's a long-term goal :) Feel free to add me and we can cheer each other on

Best of luck with your mission. It certainly sounds as though you're in the right head space to be doing this, so you're already on the path to success :) I quit in Jan 2012, Cold Turkey....just decided that I was going to do it this time. I used a phone app called Quit Now which really helped...I still have it on my phone…

Meeee!!!!! We just spent the weekend at Oz Comic Con, absolutely love it. I was going to cosplay, but not feeling confident enough about shape (although, when you get there, you realise that's not important) and I spent all my time and money on my kids costumes. It was well worth it, though....my daughter entered the…

Hey there! I'm in North Geelong, just down the road. We moved to Geelong 2 1/2 years ago and love it down here. What brings you to G-town?

The Neverending Story

My favourite lunchtime meal at the moment is a bean quesadilla. I get a tortilla, chapati or mountain bread.....spread it with Old El Paso refried beans (it's kinda like a bean paste), add some salsa and/or jalapenos and 35g of grated cheese. Then I fold it in half and put it in the george foreman grill for about 3-5 mins…

It can seem daunting, but support makes it all achievable.....and you've certainly come to the right place for that! The diets which left you feeling hungry and lousy were probably far too low in calories for your height. I'm 6ft, mildly active lifestyle and MFP has me on 1800 calories a day (and I eat back some of my…

Geelong here....happy for fellow aussies to add me :)

just had a quick look at your profile pic and you are one GORGEOUS lady! crappy photo be damned...sure you have plenty of lovely ones xxx

Oh no, that's an awful feeling! I remember seeing a thread on here once asking people what they were looking forward to most about losing weight and one person said "seeing that somebody has tagged me on facebook and not panicking" and I thought, YESSSS!!!! So true! Also made me chuckle. Unfortunately, we can never truly…

I love to use wraps to make quesadillas.......spread on some refried beans, salsa, jalapenos, onion and a little tasty cheese, fold in half and place in the grill or heat in a non-stick frypan til the wrap is crispy and the contents warm. Then serve with a little avacado and light sour cream. Quite often have this…
-
I used carrot sticks and grapes as a healthy substitute for those hand-to-mouth cravings.....they pass after a couple of weeks anyway, so if you can keep a check on calorie intake for that long, you'll be fine! Wishing you all the best with your quit :) I found the why quit website very useful, especially the Nicotine…

it's pretty bland, I'll agree, but also easy to flavour up with few cals. My favourite thing to do with it at the moment is mix with a bit of dijon mustard and have it on a cracker with ham and tomato for lunch.....yummm
-
I can very much relate....never seemed to bother me as much until recently, but now it does....go figure. Anyway, feel free to add me for a bit of support, if you fancy :)
-
feel free to add me if you fancy an Aussie friend....I'm new 'round here too and loving the motivation from the few friends I've made so far :)
