Although I use my Fitbit with my computer it also syncs with the iPhone app. I don't think a computer is necessary. I just realized you said a wristband type. I Have the clip on battery Fitbit. Not sure about the bracelet one,

Try trail running. I love running on the crushed gravel or hard packed dirt trails at my local parks. It's way nicer on my legs and more fun to run through the woods as well.

Do you think this is worth it over just the regular foam roller? The price is WAY more but if it's a lot better I'd spring for it.

I have recorded it under circuit training since it includes cardio and resistance training. I figured it was close enough.

What I'm going to say is satire and sarcasm are often used to draw attention to social issues and definitely not out of place. What I wanted to say is take the stick out of your butt.

Against. I'm a pediatric nurse and epidemics and sick kids means job security for me.

The person that assigns 10 cals to a cup of rice is probably the same one that posts "eating 1000 cal/day and not losing".

Get a food scale and more importantly make sure you are being completely honest with yourself. I have also been at a plateau. But I've also been doing a lot of late night snacking that I haven't been logging. I'm not going to kid myself that I have some special metabolism that refuses to let me lose weight. You have to be…

I have these Avantree bluetooth sport headphones and I love them. No more fooling around with wires, I can take calls with them and they don't cost an arm and a leg.…

It's more accurate to weigh it raw but for me it's just not practical. I don't cook meat just for me in nice little single portions. If you're cooking for a family or even just for yourself but in multiple servings it just doesn't work. I use info from the database for cooked meat and weigh it after I take my portion.

Congratulations! Sounds like you are making sensible lifestyle choices and seeing great results.

I hate many many veggies too. I just try to eat more of the few I like and hide the ones I don't in smoothies.
-
Not to hijack your thread but how do you set your activity type as treadmill? It does not show up on my list on Runtastic.

Well I just started the beginners workout from A Workout Routine. Heres the link: http://www.aworkoutroutine.com/the-beginner-weight-training-workout-routine/ It's similar to Stronglifts but a little bit of a slower start. It wasn't too intimidating at all.

Good for you. Great progress! I just started snowshoing this year and it is fun!

Beautiful story!

What about using an exercise ball and dumbbells to do chest presses? You would have the added benefit of using your core to stabilize yourself. I think though you'd be limited in how far you can advance this way since I don't think you could get to really heavy weight this way. I am a very beginning lifter though so…

I walk my 3 dogs together every day. They weigh 70lbs, 34lbs and 28lbs. I use prong collars when I have them all together and it works wonders. It doesn't bother them and I can still control them if they see a squirrel or a cat or something. Ive tried the no pull halters and those leads that go over their snouts and they…

Bump for great suggestions

I use Sennheiser PMX 680 and they really stay in place but they are wired. I also use Avantree Jogger Bluetooth headphones that I REALLY like. They stay in place great and I don't have to fiddle with any wires.

30 because my dogs like the cold better than the heat.

Gonna try

Even though I walk a lot for my job I set my activity as sedentary. I wear a Fitbit and I log all my exercise separately. I feel like this is more accurate as it captures all my activity but doesn't give me too many calories when I have a lazy day.

I like the Evolve chocolate protein shakes and the various flavors of Bolthouse Farms protein drinks. But what I really like is to make my own with protein smoothies with protein powder, fruit, veggies and ice. Having said that I still like real food better!

Whenever possible…neither. I love to run on trails. So much easier on my legs. They don't even have to be rough trails. I love the bridle paths through our local parks and the crushed gravel bike paths. It's worth the short drive to get to them.

I was running around like crazy at work and I stopped to get something for the father of one of my patients. He looked at me sincerely and said "Kathy, for a fat girl you sure have a lot of energy". Well gee, thanks I guess. I'm pretty sure he meant it as a compliment and he was from Kuwait so there was some…

I was getting blisters on the soles of my feet from running. Wearing 2 pairs of socks solved it. I wear one really thin liner sock under a good pair of cushioned running socks. NO COTTON in either socks. The friction goes from your foot to the sock instead. Worked like a dream for me.

Now I want to hit my weight goal and then walk into her office and rub it in her face lol [/quote] And she'll say "You're welcome!"

I lost 80 lbs in my mid 30's and kept it of for about 5 years. I made a lot of mistakes though and put it all back on. I didn't log, didn't strength train and even my cardio got spotty as I got bigger. I stopped weighing myself and was in total denial that I was so big again. This time just feels better with logging,…
