THIS is all that needs to be said below. Good luck on your journey x

This breaks my heart as it sounds exactly my inner thoughts. I would say to yourself at 180lbs that it is NEVER to late to start again. You did it once (in my case twice) and so you can do it again. Personally, I would've told my former obese self to mentally prepare for a never ending journey and not think that once the…

Yes, but as with the Professor who did the Twinkie diet et al. the LONG TERM effects have not been peer reviewed or calculated. There are plenty of people who look fantastic on the outside but have cholesterol issues or high blood pressure later in age due to high fat diets.

As always, it's calories in versus calories out for basic weight loss and maintenance. Nutritional value and health is different and more complex as we all know. You can still be super slim but have high cholesterol and blood pressure as with those who consistently eat at a massive calorie deficit over a long length of…

Without seeing your food diary it sounds like it's non-accurate logging.

Insinuating that that your children will love you more because you've lost weight is 'shaming'.

Does absolutely nothing for your health: http://blogs.telegraph.co.uk/news/tomchiversscience/100196097/by-all-means-go-dry-for-january-but-its-worth-knowing-that-detoxing-does-nothing-for-your-health/

What a delightful comment in the Motivation and Support forum. Jeez.

I get this with anything starchy... not just gluten. So even gluten free bread as well as regular ... I also get like this by having too much beansprouts and too many tomatoes. It took me ages to figure out what are my trigger foods but make a diary and eliminate and add accordingly....

If I am losing weight, then I don't. But if for instance I go over my calories, it is a great bufferzone. Not eating my exercise calories back while losing weight has never hurt me. However, when I am training for an event, such as a marathon, traithlon, I do. But that is a completely different stage.

You look incredible, beautiful and healthy. Congrats xxx

That's also true yet I never see them eat anything .....

Why don't you start one and be the moderator?

If you google it, you'll find good calculators for your BMR and TDeE. Calculate both. Then add the 500 cals on each Becuase you're breastfeeding. So if TDEE is 2000 add 500 = 2500 If BMR 1600 add 500 = 2100 Get a heart rate monitor and monitor your exercise calories. Make sure you always eat above BMR but below TDEE Good…

Oh another one - "it's easy for you to lose weight and exercise" ...... ARGH, no it isn't! I wake up at 5 for work and do 12 hour days, do extra project work, still have to try and have a social life and have to monitor every calorie, log and get in a gym session everyday to be "ok". As soon as I don't, I put on weight.…

1. Biggest argument from female friends is that "I don't need to lose weight" "I'm fine the way I am" bullS.... Especially since they're all UK size 4-8 (US size 0-4) and at the time I was 250lbs and wearing tents as clothes. I still get it now 2. From people that persist (I don't ask) how they don't eat much and are…

I have the same and it is frustrating when you work so hard to be fit, trim and slim. I have the same body but this is why I had to do. I know how you feel about running but I concentrated on running and in tandem would do a lot of core and big muscle strength training (squats, lunges, leg press and back exercises) I did…

How do you calculate your exercise calories? A lot of the time people seriously over estimate their exercise calories and really just either stall or put weight on because they think they're burning a lot more than they are and therefore take in too many calories overall

Hi there I understand, I have been in the same boat and I actually reached 250lbs at university because of the same - no exercise, exhausted and ate and drank whatever, whenever and emotionally ate. You can turn it around, I promise and even with little exercise at first until you build yourself up. It's especially…

Whenever you have a major change in diet, the first 2 weeks you usually lose a lot more and then it slows down. There is nothing wrong with losing a lot in the first week or two, but after that it should be slow and steady. great job though. x

I'm not joking, I'm on the train commuting home right now and was tempted to ditch the gym (have y gym bag with me) but after this post, I realised I'll never even remotely look as 1% as awesome as your fiancé if I ditch ;) thanks for the inspiration all!

I understand it must be hideously frustrating but don't lose hope. It does get harder past 40 years old, which is a given. BUT I know considering you work out, eat within your calorie range, it must be just mind numbingly irritating not to see the movement. Firstly, I would say go on measurements. Like some people on here,…

The latter. You have a set number of fat cells that expand or shrink but don't eliminate. This article will point you to the study and the science (I'm on my mobile phone ATM so dif to copy and paste links) but Nature is all staffed by biologists and only report on peer reviewed studies.…

It is realistic. I did the same. From 185 lbs, I lost 2lbs a week until 45 lbs (apart from one week where I stayed the same). And yes, I kept it off, am healthy and never starved. (Also I lost sometimes 4lbs a week or 3lbs)

THIS! If you're not hungry, don't force yourself but recuperating the deficit over the next few days is totally fine! If I have something similar, I use it as a treat at the weekend if I want a drink or two or a meal out with peeps :)
