I think deadlifts are slightly easier (to get good form the higher the bar starts which is why you move to the deadlift on a box to get a greater range of movement. Correct me if I'm wrong, more experience lifters! I was planning on sticking with normal deadlifts rather than going on a box in stage 2 because I enjoy…

Hi This is my 1st post here. I completed stage 1 and just wanted somewhere to share my numbers. Hope you don't mind! I'm rubbish at taking measurements and progress pics and I don't really pay attention to the scales. I have gone for a right UK 12 to a much more comfortable one and that is enough progress for me at the…

I'm a new-ish lifter. Did lots of crossfit style things with a trainer last year and now I've moved on to new rules on my own. I love squatting! Please feel free to add me

Hi, I'm Heather. Aged 26, 161cms, 161lbs (how symmetrical, I only just noticed that!). Currently half way through Stage 1 (workout B5 tomorrow). I spent the last year working with a trainer doing squats, kettlebells, trx etc which was great but I moved away and am doing it on my own now whilst following New Rules. I love…

I've just ordered this book but I'm not a total beginner. I've been working with a PT for about 8 months now mainly doing lifting of sorts such as squats, lunges and various horrible things with kettlebells. Are the early stages very basic or do they allow you to adapt and use reasonably heavy weights from the start? I…

Never posted before. Blanked out my face because I'm a bit embarrassed. They aren't the clearest but I think I can see a small difference. Pic on the left (scarf) probably around 190lbs Pic on the right 167lbs Long way to go until I'm happy but I#ve gone from a tight UK 16 to a 14 trousers, 12-14 tops

I'm in! First challenge. Hopefully running a 10k on the 19th May (currently still supposed to be working a 12 hour shift but trying to sort it out). If not I will be running my own 10k the week before! Please feel free to add me as a friend, fellow new-runners.

I burnt 523 earlier in a 40minute run which was a big effort for all of that time. I wasn't that sweaty but that's because it was really cold out! That is based on HRM but my real achievement was running the full 40mins and running a mile further than my previous best.

I started at exactly the same stats! I was 198 and now I'm 174. I am 5'4" as well! i started in February and lost 20lbs by June but put about 11lbs back on (massive life upheaval, not time to focus). I have been at it again since September and am now down 24lbs from my original but about 14lbs since then. My progress is…

Excellent loss. Keep being inspiring

Mine is always higher with my first weigh. So I get off, stand on it again and then double check. the 2nd and 3rd are always the same and makes more sense. Sometimes it can be 8lbs out and I even with water weight I can't gain 8lbs overnight!

I have about 60lbs to lose although I'm now 17lbs down. Please add me. I love new friends and motivating people!

I'm short (5ft3) but MFP gave me 1600. My calculations come out at 1800 for lightly active but because my activity levels vary massively day to day I stick at 1600 and eat back exercise cals. I never net below 1200. It's working. Short people don't have to eat nothing to lose weight!

Evenings after work. I don't usually have commitments other than tv watching in the evening so it fits perfectly. I've only just gone to bed at 3.20am, some of you guys are seriously dedicated!

I nearly reached 200lbs and thought 'enough is enough'. That and finally realised I could no longer convince myself I was a size 16, but an 18 (UK sizes). Now 182lbs, going down steadily. Had my ups and downs but I'm fitter, stronger and even though I'm still overweight I feel happier because I know I'm doing something…

Would love to try hit 20lbs! CW: 182 GW: 162 Think it may be a bit much for me. I'm losing slowly at the moment but shrinking in inches due to starting strength training. I have a second goal of buying myself a UK size 14 pair of black skinny jeans for Christmas so I'm aiming for that too! The weight loss will keep me in…

I'm currently 183lbs, started at 198lbs first goal weight is 150. Please add me!

25, would love for anybody to friend me :)

If you do use water make sure you're still getting enough calcium from the rest of your diet. Ladies are often low on calcium and it can lead to osteoporosis and fractures. Milk is a good source so even though there are extra cals they may be doing you good
-
Wow! You look fantastic. Feel free to add me. I'm 183lbs, SW 198lbs and I am doing it by controlling portions, eating better snacks and running!

My mum died when I was 10 and I think it's difficult to people who haven't lose a significant family member to understand how important it is for these events. I don't actually visit the cemetery where my mum is at all because I still find it too difficult and she was cremated and there is no marker. I really think you…

I donate in the UK. My mum needed blood and my dad has always donated. Had to stop because of exotic foreign travel and a tattoo but now I try and do it 3 times a year. I feel good when I do it as I know I'm giving something back. I don't like how it can sometimes take up to a hour to go from the start to leaving and then…

I am reasonably new here but the one thing that really pisses me off is the number of new threads on similar topics. I have had lots of questions in my early weight loss journey but I'm used the search function and found the answer rather than starting yet another BMR thread, or posting about what you're doing wrong when…

I was lucky as i started at 14stone 2lbs so broke the first barrier quickly but now I'm getting close to being 12stone something and I'm excited! My GW is 10stone so being in the 12's makes it so much closer

I've also realised that roundabout is the one in Hemel, near where I live. It's called the Magic roundabout and it's easy once you know how!
-
You'd be surprised. We Brits love our roundabouts. There is one like this near where I live and I've never seen/heard of any accidents. You learn to drive round them so it's second nature however many there are!

Traditionally the Yorkshire pudding was made to be filled with meat for savoury and the jam for a pudding. The miners used to take it for their lunches to stop the roast dinner getting everywhere down the mines! My grandma, daughter of a Yorkshire butcher, used to serve her Yorkshires with gravy as a starter before the…

They are all very similar. Coolrunnings is very good and the UK, the NHS has one. Use whichever looks good and enjoy it!

Yes, if that is normal for you. For some, if they are having loose watery stools that would be diarrhoea. If you previously were fine going 3 times a week, 3 times a day is probably not healthy
