You're having sex for work?
-
Wait, you can count cleaning, food prep, and sex as exercise? Really? I had no idea and haven't added those; they're just LIFE to me, not exercise. All those uneaten exercise calories...

Quality diet DOES count, toward health, toward increasing your metabolism, etc. But you can lose while eating junk food, even by eating all junk. I don't think anyone would recommend that! It's certainly better to eat healthier foods, but it's okay to have a little treat now and then. You won't undo all the other hard work.

Any calorie deficit will result in weight loss. Proof: The Twinkie Diet. A nutrition professor lost 27 lb. eating ONLY junk food, but in a calorie defecit. http://www.cnn.com/2010/HEALTH/11/08/twinkie.diet.professor/index.html This is not to say that it's healthier, or that your long term side effects of eating purely…

I read a book called "The Skin Type Solution" and completely changed my skincare routine based on the results of the suggestions in the book. My skin has never been clearer. You take a multi-part quiz and then it talks about the different skin types, with specific ideas and products for each one. I also read a book called…

Teriyaki steak, roasted sweet potatoes, and sesame green beans.

I'm losing consistently. I'm down 14 lb. since 1/1. I'm a little concerned that maybe I'm losing too fast?

I buy a quarter of a cow directly from a rancher once a year and that's our beef for the year. It's grass fed and finished, humanely raised, not fed hormones (of course, cows have natural hormones), not given antibiotics unless ill. It's not certified organic but I trust the rancher, who I've had a 6 year relationship…

Depends on how you define "Bad."

There must be an upper limit to this, or I'd be drinking over 150 oz a day, over 18 cups of water. My eyeballs would float!!
-
Tell me more! How long did this take? How many days is it for? Recipes?

I've done popsicles with yogurt-fruit smoothies, but haven't done the protein powder, greens, and chia in a kid smoothie. I'll definitely make these into popsicles - tasty and an extra healthy boost is a yay in my book.

I saw her on PBS. She suggests cutting out the 7 foods for 3 weeks and then reintroducing them one at a time to see if you have digestive or other bad reactions to those foods, which is how a lot of food intolerances are discovered. But it does seem very limiting!

Yes, it changes. :)

I started this and have lost 14 lb. since Jan 1. Because I have so much to lose, I'm doing TDEE-30%, and will adjust to 20% when I'm not quite as big!

You can manually adjust your macro percentages. Go to My Home > Goals > Change Goals > Custom.

I highly recommend reading and following the calorie evaluation explained in this post: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/654536-in-place-of-a-road-map-2-0-revised-7-2-12 Because of this, I'm eating 1800 calories a day, 40% carb/30% protein/30% fat, instead of the wholy unrealistic 1200 calories MFP suggested. I've…

What percentage of carbs/fat/protein are you trying to reach?

I plan the next day the night before and adjust with what I actually eat throughout the day. Today, I planned a snack that I didn't eat, so I just deleted that. I ate extra bread with dinner and added that.

I'll add Greek Yogurt for more protein. I'm eating lots of beans, chicken, and fish (last night tilapia, yuck! so bland and no texture!) I'd prefer to not lean so heavily on animal products, but quinoa and beans hit the carb limit fast. I'll have to keep playing around with it to get the right macros. I'm not mindlessly…

Sounds like a good plan! You can be in control of ingredients, sodium, and portion - much better altogether. Maybe try sweet potato fries for a little extra nutrition in your fries. They're surprisingly easy to make from scratch, too.

I don't like them, either. They taste artificial to me, are unpleasantly dry, and too sweet. I didn't get fat eating Pop Tarts, though, and don't consider them a comfort food. I could eat an entire container of artichoke and jalapeno dip and loaf of bread in a sitting, though. I have my own food demons!

What is in the chia seed meal replacement drink? I like refrigerator oats - Google for lots of options. I also add them to green smoothies. Today, I had for breakfast: 1/2 c mixed berries 1/2 c plain nonfat Greek yogurt 1 c spinach 1/2 oz dark chocolate 1/2 t raw honey 1 T chia seeds It was pleasantly sweet with a little…

Okay, I'm having a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, green beans, and chocolate milk - what I have in the house on grocery-shopping-eve! Thanks for the suggestions, everyone.
-
I like the idea of having a smaller dinner and bigger day tomorrow - easier to add throughout the day than overindulge tonight trying to eat enough!
-
My home food is all pretty low-cal, and tomorrow is grocery day. No cake, out of cheese! I made black bean and sweet potato soup for the family, but that's eaten up... by the family. :) I was supposed to go out with a friend, so the kids and husband fed. I feel weird about going out by myself. DH suggested I go to…

Tuna, egg whites, chicken breast, lentils?

Can you have an electric kettle to boil water? A George Foreman grill? A small crock pot? A blender? I'm a big fan of green smoothies in the blender and have one for breakfast most days. Oatmeal is also a healthy choice easy to make in a dorm. Grill some chicken, lean meat, or fish and put it on a big salad with beans,…

You might appreciate this blog post I read today: http://jezebel.com/5976007/the-new-girl-scout-cookie-has-some-wack+*kitten*-vitamins-in-it I won't be buying girl scout cookies to eat, as I'm trying to avoid processed junk. I'll donate to send them to the military, though; that's what I did for my son's cub scout popcorn…
