I am a long time member. I miss the personal blogs and the feeds showing friends status and posts but realized I can post updates here. Also my About Me has disappeared and yet it says not much happening here. Well that is because it has been deleted. So to start off I just retired and my 1st goal is to get healthier and fitter than I was able to get working fulltime. I have lost about 5 lbs, I had really gotten weak. Today I walked 30 minutes and I have been getting in more NEAT. I find it isn't so much how much I eat but what I eat that helps me and exercise helps too.

  • My husband and I went to a Tulip Street fair and drove to see the tulip fields so we found a fun way of getting exercise. On the way home we went to a cafe next to a food co-op that has healthy food. Had a healthy dinner. Tonight I am going to my sisters for game night. My husband is too busy to come with but my brother…
  • @pamperedlinny N (my youngest adult child) is cosplaying all weekend. There is an Anime/Manga convention this weekend. I am going to the Tulip festival with my husband mostly to get some stoneware by a small company that has a booth there. Enjoy the time at the beach. I love the beach. My son and his family is moving close…
  • Some progress to report. Although my scale settled on the same weight as yesterday 244.2 it was taking a while to settle showing 243.? etc. My assumption is that my weight was lower but not .2 lower and my scale only shows increments of .2. So I think I am probably 244.1. This small amount doesn't mean a lot it would seem…

  • @sharon81 I really identify with your hard holidays. I would get off what I gained in January and February and then gain it back. I have been fighting it all this year. Nice to see you back. @pamperedinny It sounds like you are making progress healthwise. This is why my husband hasn’t retired yet. He gets really good…

  • I have been experiencing something weird since retiring. I have been eating healthier and for a while I was losing. I have upped my exercise but not enough. I have hardly any refined sugar or carbohydrates. I eat more healthy fats and less unhealthy fats. I am eating more protein but not enough and a lot more fiber from…

  • My 1st priority today is to get out and get that walk in. I had a healthy breakfast (with a lot of protein) and I have healthy leftovers for dinner tonight. When I get back I may do some meal planning. My 2nd priority is to set up some medical appointments before that. I am hoping to read my Body Reset book too. Happy last…

  • Dark chocolate is really good for you. It is the sugar that is the problem. However they have also found lead in chocolate including some of our leading brands even some of the Seattle and west coast ones I love. • Well I didn’t gain on my birthday week. I did start exercising more midweek and hope to keep that up through this week. That means today I take a 30 minute walk and do 7 minutes of exercises. I need to plan meals for the rest of the week. I had my husband grab some things for tonight’s dinner when he went shopping for last…
  • Yesterday I stayed under my MFP calorie goal and stayed under my TDEE but was slightly above my spreadsheet calorie goal. I almost forgot to add in my drink and cappuccino. I even slept well despite the cappuccino after dinner. Not bad for birthday night out. Taking a walk with my husband and doing my 7 minutes of exercise…
  • Birthday thoughts: Last night I woke up after a dream at 1:30 AM and couldn’t go back to sleep so I got up and read my book. As I started back to bed I felt disappointed at the start of my birthday. I have been struggling to lose weight since the holidays. I tried at News Years and then at Chinese New Years to get back…
